The Sended's

The Sended's
Chapter 28: Until Death do us Part

We drew closer to where the elders and leaders of the group were, intending to hear what they were talking about

You see, these two people seem very serious from a distance, I'm sure there must be at least one piece of information that is useful to me and Kyouka

"The reason for my arrival was actually none other than to ask for additional fighters. It sounds selfish but we really need it on the front lines to hold off the Ladenvield troops" the group's leader said

"I understand your concern Uther, but all that remains of Afiel are children and parents who have difficulty swinging a sword. You brought our fighters many years ago" replied the elder

The leader of the group seemed pensive to hear the answer from the elder, so that was the reason why I did not encounter a teenager here

"But if this continues, we'll be short of guards and they can break through the forest. I heard that Ladenvield also built a town far across the river, which would make it easier for them to supply more troops,"

Ladenvield, from what they're talking about, looks like this Ladenvield is different from Afiel. They sound like they are more organized and to defeat them it seems that the group of fighters must use 'cowardly' tactics'

But that does not mean I reject this plan, the fact that the Romans also lost against the German tribes in the teutoburg forest. All tactics will be good when used correctly in the right situations

"Is it possible for us to lower our standards of warrior criteria...?" ask the group leader

Hearing him, spontaneously the elder immediately got up and showed a little emotion

"The Ruby Forest has been guarded by warriors with the same criteria and training for hundreds of years, where do you think this is formulated from if not from our ancestors?"

Ruby, so that's the name of this forest

"You won't accept any fighters here Uther, maybe in another village,"

Uh! That proves that there are villages other than Afiel in the Ruby forest, well it's obvious that the leader of the group is looking for fighters, should not only Afiel their goal

Then if you look at the group itself, many of them do not let go of their longing in this village, like Afiel is not their only homeland and that is true

So if so, would this not even be really similar to the Germanic tribes when Rome was in power?

"Maybe you're right, chief, I'll try to find fighters in other villages,"

The elder sat back and discussed the matter related to Ladenvield, Kyouka and I also continued to sit nearby to listen. The information they say is very important, especially for those of us who only know about Afiel Village and hills

That night I got a lot of information about this world, this new world. Not only from the two people, but also from Kyouka's parents who were also in the group of fighters, from the village hunters, from the former adventurers, and from many others at the party

We live on a vast land in the middle of the ocean, here stands two great kingdoms, Ladenvield as told, and another one named Edelfield. The two are technically still at war a long time ago because there has been no peace treaty

Ladenvield in the South began to build his army for decisive battles, it seemed like their plan was to cut a path through the Ruby forest to give Edelfield a shock advantage

We Ruby tribes, including Afiel, will certainly not allow that to happen. We fought them in the terrain we controlled, the forest

Ladenvield is on a high plateau, which is rich in minerals from the mountains. They mined materials to be used as equipment and weapons against Edelfield

While Edelfield was in the lowlands of the North, they grew crops and became rich as many foreigners traded there. Because Edelfield also established its capital on the beach, it attracted many traders

And because this information makes me believe that the land we are on, Edelfield, Ladenvield, Ruby, and all this land, is just an island. I think it's true that tripling the previous world couldn't have been this narrow

But the question is how big?

The next morning, the group of fighters left the village. Many people let go of them, because I don't know when they come back again

And the truth is now, they will never come back again.

In front of me was Kyouka, my hands tied with shackles and chained to the shackles around Kyouka's neck in front and connecting to the shackles around my neck as well. We were all lined up and tied up with the same chain, somewhere in the line

We passed the corpses lying on the ground, their blood soaking on the ground, preferably not telling them more. They were none other than the group of fighters last night, the proof of which was the head of their group that was on the roadside of this line

He was bowed down by warriors with not-so-tight and closed-off early medieval-era equipment, they were between carrying a sword and a kite shield or spear and a kite shield

"Awish our King, you will be forgiven" said one of the soldiers

After that he lost his head when one other soldier behind him swung the two-handed sword quickly, ending his life in an instant

Did you get here enough to understand how things happened?

Previously, after the group of fighters left, the activities of Afiel village went as before. A few hours passed until one of the fighters who left was now back with a wound, but before saying the reason he had even fainted because of his injuries

When he woke up and intended to report to the elder, it was already too late. Foreign soldiers using the early medieval-era equipment rode into the village, looting whatever lay before them

They killed the people who resisted, then forced the weak of us to gather at the place where we had previously performed the ritual, it was the place when Kyouka's magic was first seen

There, finally the elder also managed to be captured after killing some soldiers with his wind magic, it seems that magic of that level is still unable to defeat a squad of soldiers with good equipment

The leader of the army stood in front of the elder who was already powerless to resist, his hands were held back by two different soldiers, his staff was kept away, he was exhausted as well

One of the subordinates suggested, "He's the captain's elder, if we kill him maybe the others will rebel,"

"It doesn't make sense! Your order is to kill the one who fought and caught the one who, according to him, killed four of our precious soldiers, he deserves to die!" Said another subordinate

The leader took a breath, finally he gave an answer to the fate of the elder

"Kill him, take the others away,"

"Good!" the two soldiers guarding him responded

They brought the elder close to the house, one of them drew his sword while the other bowed the elder's head, the next as happened to the leader of the warrior group here.

There we were bound with shackles and chains linked to each other, then we were lined up and walked according to the direction of the soldiers in front of us. I have until now only followed the flow, as well as Kyouka

Emily, Harold, and one of our friends.... They're not in this line, but I don't see them killed either. Maybe hide and run away I don't know

"Run faster!" true too, they whip us when moving slowly

I almost stepped on the corpse that was the father of Lofi or Kyouka in this world, then I looked towards Kyouka who looked sorry for them especially the old man of that body. On the other hand I don't....

Either because I once committed more horrific acts to thousands of Federation soldiers, or because I consider them nothing more than tools like the Gods said

Not far away, I we met Mother Lofi who was also lifeless, the position of the two of them as if trying to hold hands with each other, a love until the end of their lives said

After walking further than any journey I have ever taken in this world, we finally came out of the forest and saw the sunlight without the obstruction of leaves and trees for the first time

So remember the time when it was first moved as Archen, the scorching sun that almost killed me was

We saw the river and across there was a large camp of Ladenvield troops, this made my belief that the final war would be fought between Ladenvield and Edelfield.

My march to one of the areas inside the camp, on his signboard says Ghetto. It's a camp where prisoners of war live for forced labor

If not mistaken, the Ghetto means a place of residence for the minority in this case Jews in Europe. The idea emerged in the 16th century and is often associated as a symbol of discrimination of a nation to the minority

I myself flatly reject the action, I also think what the word of this minority is actually needed or not? If you live as one nation, especially if it is legal to be a citizen then is not everyone the same?

Especially kan.... During the second world war, Germany created the largest ghetto in the world, the Warsaw Ghetto, with 400,000 inhabitants. Just imagine if they were used to something more useful

Just imagine if these 400,000 people were positioned as soldiers on the Atlantic wall, wouldn't that save them from the invasion of allies from the West?

"Hei Ryuu, what are you daydreaming about?"

"Haha.... Now we are slaves...?"

The slave, an Emperor Yamato who once ruled half of the Eastern continent is now a slave to a small island kingdom.... That would be a good story, huh?
