Chapter : 8 – Duel

Indeed their initial intention after returning to the city of Fortuna was to immediately return to the alliance and preach everything to Kento. But all of that had to be delayed when they arrived in the city and saw a large crowd somewhere.

"Hey what's going on?" Charlotte pointed at the crowd with a curious face.

A well-bearded and well-moustached man who had just snapped immediately went up onto the stage. Not ignoring the existence of the witches at all, he faced everyone and said.

"All of you, don't be fooled by the prophecy!! Already long ago we fought alone to face all sorts of intruders from the two worlds, and we just want to hang the fate of the strange people called immortals? No kidding!! What evidence do we have that these immortals have the power to create peace!?"

This speech managed to silence all of their mouths, it was true that the man had never met directly with the immortals so there was not a single thing to refute the statement.

"But he said the immortals after death can come back to life" said a little girl holding a teddy bear.

The man looked at the girl and smiled as he said, "Little girl, it's true and I've heard the news. But we can't prove that, can we?"

The girl was unable to answer and just stood pensively.

"All of you, residents of Fortuna city please listen to me. Those immortals might be the same as people like us who only have one advantage: being able to live again after death. But it was not enough to fight against the other two worlds. Isn't my speech right!?"

There was no response from the residents. They even began to doubt the words of the witches who had reported that the immortals had come.

"Mr Alvos, please don't interfere in our affairs." said one of the witches respectfully.

"Bother you? Heh, it is precisely you who are disturbing this city! With that immortal news, the townspeople would depend on them for their fate and not try!! It's still a good thing if the immortal is true, but if it's a lie? What are you guys gonna do? Have you ever seen the form of those immortals?"

The witch looked shocked and could not answer. To be honest they had only come here to convey the news of the coming of the immortals and had nothing else to do. But they never expected the arrival of the man and some of his men.

Asahi and her three friends who saw this looked a little unhappy. After all, they were the immortals and they were currently being ridiculed for never having existed.

They also knew who the man who made the speech was. He was named Alvos, a knight who worked as an adventurer. He and his adventurer grub are NPCs who guide novice players in the early Ring of Chaos games. Their job is to teach basic skills to beginners and explain the basics to new players. It never occurred to them in the head that this time Alvos would appear.

In the game it is also described if Alvos's adventurous grub is named Wolf Hunter. It is a group of fifty people. It is also explained that Alvos is a former war general who resigned from the army because of permanent injuries, which is why Alvos has a high love of the homeland.

This trait also decreased to all his men who often helped adventurers who were struggling against monsters. Indeed, often in the game Ring of Chaos, while fighting a monster boss and feeling difficulty, suddenly this Alvos-led grub came and gave help. This is common in that game so all players are very familiar with Wolf Hunter. No exception Asahi who has been helped several times by that person when he was a beginner.

All of Alvos' words were not intended to demean the immortals whose existence is still in doubt. But he speaks as a patriot who does not want to hang his fate on people whose origins are not yet clear. This speech also managed to make Asahi and the players there amazed.

But anyway, they feel a little offended because it is not uncommon to know that these are the immortals. Although there are some players who are not aware if they are immortal, but the news spread by the Dragon Republic and several other major alliances that state that they are immortal is already known to many players.

But they did not dare to fight because they knew the level of alvos was very high, which was at level 190.

"I, Tanaka Asahi, challenge you to a duel!! I have long admired immortals and I felt it was unacceptable for my idol to be humbled by others!!" he shouted in a loud voice.

Hearing this, suddenly there was a whisper from the players who were there. Who is the one in the Ring of Chaos world who is not familiar with Tanaka Asahi? World top three players?

"So she's the Tanaka?"

"Great, is he?"

"It's so pretty..."

Various kinds of whispers were heard but Asahi did not care about all that. He still stared at Alvos sharply.

"You afraid of losing? We will prove who is right between us. Immortals are real and have already arrived to this world!!" he shouted firmly that managed to make a rowdy all of them.

"Alright, I accept your challenge. Everyone, please give us a place." Alvos answered and walked down from the stage. Once in the bwah, immediately people away from the two of them and form a wide circle.

"Asahi, what the fuck are you!!" Amaya glared at her best friend.

"Amaya, let's look from afar. I'm also a little upset with that Alvos. Let Asahi finish it." Ken pulled his sister and Charlotte's arms.

Alvos pulled out the sword and put the sword in front of the face. It was a way to respect the dueling opponents. Indicates that this fight is just a duel and pitting force, not to kill each other.

A loud voice rang out as Alvos' face slid to the ground. Everyone was astonished and amazed. Alvos whom they knew as the leader of the Wolf Hunter was someone strong, but now was able to be knocked down in one fell swoop by a young man.

"Tanaka Asahi is really the world's top player." murmured one of the players there.

"Well, do you think the power of my idol is weaker than this?"
