Chapter : 10 – Selection

Asahi, Charlotte, Kento, Ken and his sister this time decided to go to the library. They were very curious about one thing. It was about their own skills.

If you recall the events of Asahi and his three employees who were surrounded by a swarm of Evil Bear, it means that the minimum quality to enter the Dark Forest forest increases. What made them curious was, was there an improvement or something else in their skill? This is what they're trying to figure out.

Trying to forget Lucy who suddenly turned into a powerful top-ranked player, Kento invites them to go to the library.

In the world of the Ring of Chaos, the library is a place to find out all the information in that world. The library also provides a system of buying and selling skills to players. Well, even though it was just a weapon skill and some other supporting skills, it was already quite helpful.

They entered a large library located in the city of Fortuna. The first sight they saw was the large number of humans visible in the vast building. On the right side close to the wall, there was a woman in her thirties standing behind a large table. It is to him that the players make book buying and selling transactions.

"What are we gonna see? History or skill book first? Or information about hunting grounds?" asahi asked as soon as the five people entered the library.

"Of course the skill. Aren't we here for that purpose?" hatch Charlotte.

"Who knew anything changed between you?"

They walked towards one of the places filled with shelves of weaponry-style books. Immediately they headed to the shelf that housed their respective weapon skill books.

They read slowly and carefully. Open one by one the pages of the book carefully, trying as much as possible so that not a single letter is missed.

Suddenly Asahi issued a loud enough cry, making the four friends compactly look at him.

"What's the matter Asahi?" ask Amaya as she walks closer.

Asahi did not reply but took out the same book from within his spatial ring. Then he opened the last page of his own book.

"Look, my book just ended up here. But the books stored in this library have far more pages."

Hearing this, the four friends approached and saw.

"That's right!"

"There really is an addition.."

They all seemed surprised when the katana weapon skills displayed in the library books had more and more diverse styles. Even all the techniques that Asahi currently mastered are only fifty percent of the entire library book style.

Simultaneously they heaved a heavy sigh before putting their book to its original place.

"Looks like we should take the quest in the adventurer guild?"

"There's no other way, right? All proceeds from the sale of the alliance's drugs and weapons will go to the alliance treasury, not to be taken at will." said Kento lethargic.

"Wait what else, let's go to the adventurer guild to take the mission!!" asahi said with passion.

Adventurer guild, is a place that provides quests for adventurers to do. Adventurer guilds were also the ones who did the selection to people who wanted to become adventurers. After passing the selection, then that person had officially become an adventurer.

But not infrequently also people who become adventurers without making a selection first in the adventurer guild. They are often referred to as unofficial adventurers or free adventurers.

Less than five minutes into walking, they finally arrived in front of the quite majestic adventurer guild building. The building has a two-story building, while behind the main building, there is a large field that serves to select new adventurers.

When Asahi wanted to walk to one of the walls with a large whiteboard containing various quests, Kento suddenly stopped him.

"Wait for Asahi, for someone of our level, isn't carrying out the guild's mission quite boring?"

Asahi frowned hearing those words, so she replied, "What do you mean? We can take class A missions or even higher."

"What if we see this? It will be very crowded and exciting!" without answering Asahi's question, Kento pointed to one of the columns of the room with a piece of paper on it.

"What do you mean?" ask Amaya who does not understand Kento's actions.

"How about we watch the selection of the new adventurers? Isn't exclaiming?"

"What the fuck are you? We need money. Why should I watch the selection of the new adventurer?" Asahi.

"Originally you know Asahi, in addition to the changes to the Dark Forest, our skills and Lucy, there was also a big change to the alliance. If initially the alliance was a maximum of sixty, now there are no more restrictions." replied Kento.

"Where do you know about that?"

"In the paper containing the list of alliance members, there is no longer a limit on the number of memberships. If you don't believe, look at it for yourself."

"Then what does it have to do with watching the selection and that?" Ken asked in wonder.

Kento showed a big smile that made them more astonished. "We can recruit new members here. After choosing a person, we can take on a mission to select the person it deserves or not to be our member."

"You crazy? We're going to recruit NPCs?" Charlotte snaps.

Suddenly Kento's face turned serious when he replied, "Charlotte listen, we are in the real world, not the game world anymore. So there is no longer an NPC or player. We are all the same, people in general. What sets us apart is our so-called immortal existence and those so-called natives."

They all could not answer Kento's expression. If you think about it, it's all true. From now on, there were no more players and NPCs. All of them are human and have their own personalities, no system that controls them, no algorithms that regulate their emotions and movements. In short, all of this is real and natural without any connection to the system as in the game.

"I'll stick with the chairman." Asahi finally relented.

They walked to the back of the building. Because indeed if you want to watch the selection is not charged any fees for fellow official adventurers, so they can easily enter the selection arena.

The place is very large, around the field there is a podium that is used as a place for the audience. Actually the adventurer guild arena not only serves for selection, but also for other functions.

That's why this place is very big and there is a huge podium.

Their attacks looked fierce and intense, but just as they sat down, the magician who was following the selection bounced to the edge of the arena.

"You're losing! Didn't pass the selection!" shouted someone who stood on the sidelines as a referee.
