The woman never thought that the mistakes she had made seemed to be bad for everyone she knew so well. The mistake that made the brother a cruel man who no longer knew tenderness and compassion. A fatal mistake that changed the lives of his loved ones, and it was truly unforgivable. He could not resist when that regret struck the bottom of his heart all of a sudden. He had to endure the pain of so much regret when his sense of hearing often caught up with the conversations of the maids who were taking care of him.
He knew very well what depravity the brother had done to the completely innocent woman. Really, he was afraid, really scared if Skylar's treatment had exceeded the limit. The desire to explain everything to the man was so strong, yet he was unable to do anything about it. He did not understand the state of his body that was too weak and fragile, so to just voice one or two words was very difficult.
Her tears fell as the shadow of Starla's face flashed across her head. Oh my God, that woman, her best friend .. how is she doing right now? Is he still okay?
"Angel?"
The heavy and soft-sounding voice managed to break the silence. Skylar stepped carefully with a plate of food and a glass of mineral water that filled both his grasp. Approaching the woman who was sitting peacefully on her wheelchair which led to a large window. Half crouching down, the man looked at the woman's loving face. His gaze is so human. There was absolutely no sense of intimidation in there. His hand moved slowly, wiping the woman's tears quietly. No need to ask to find out the reason, because he was quite used to him seeing the brother who was always crying in a condition of no expression like this.
"It's lunch time, honey," he said sincerely. "I know you haven't eaten. Don't turn me down this time, Angel. I just want to make sure that you actually eat, and I'll go after that."
Skylar knew that the younger brother would not respond to him, but it did not matter. He felt fine as long as the woman did not resist or rebel against his presence. Calmly, he picked up a spoonful of food and pointed it at Angel when the woman suddenly brushed her hand off violently. Angel looked at the sister with full of pent-up emotions.
"I .. hate you!" lirih the woman stammered.
There was no exaggerated expression on Skylar's face. It had become a daily meal for her even though her heart was pitting bitterly when the younger brother always refused her presence and said so. It was as if the woman he loved hated him so much and always refused his presence. Making Skylar always sad to face his favorite woman.
"Ang—"
"P—go!" screamed loudly.
Although with a stammered tone, but from the tone of the voice it stored a deep hatred for Skylar. And until now Skylar had not understood why his sister could hate him in such a way and that made him really sad.
Skylar shook his head stubbornly. "I won't leave if you don't eat."
"Go! Nah! Get out of here!"
Skylar tries to hold back Angel's hand which starts to move hitting him. Always like that, Angel would start beating him blindly if it was like this, giving him scratches that were clearly printed on his skin, but what he did was completely ignored by Skylar. He assumed that this was a form of his frustration to a man, but still Skylar was saddened by it.
"Angel!"
"Hey, relax!"
"A—I hate you, asshole!"
Really, the man never cared if his face was again injured due to the attack made by the younger brother. No matter how big of a wound Angel created, it didn't make her feel any pain at all. However, what always managed to hurt his heart was when every time he came to visit, at that time his sister always rejected his existence. And that rejection is often the cause of the presence of emotion towards the figure of a woman who is currently his wife. His sister who had been living with him now hated him half to death, and he really did not know what reason made the woman always throw a deep hatred towards him.
Skylar thought he would calm down as he tried to ease Angel into his warm embrace. However, no. The work he did was meaningless. The movement of the woman getting stronger hit the strong body while continuing to shout hate sentences and eviction sentences. And that made Skylar's patience disappear instantly. The woman had actually managed to ignite her emotions. His sincere and affectionate eyes now turned into a look of anger. His face hardened, enduring the emotional turmoil that nearly blew his emotions away. Skylar shook the body in one fell swoop.
"Gabriellas!" He called out the name in a high tone that made the woman stop her movement. His chest was fluttering while he let his hand grip tightly one of the tiny wrists.
"Why ... Why do you hate me?" His eyes flashed with anger, but there was clearly a hint of disappointment inside. "I've helped you do anything, Gaby. I've even avenged all your grudges against that jerk. What makes you hate me?"
No answer came from the lips of his brother. His wistful and misty eyes were fixed on Skylar's blue bead which returned his gaze full of pain. His pale lips twitched. Skylar who saw the look on his face finally melted. His grip loosened, along with his gaze that returned sincerely as before after making sure that Angel no longer rebelled. He watched the woman closely.
"I'm sorry!" he said full of regrets.
The man almost failed to control himself. His breath turned breathless. His eyes did not turn at all. Slowly, he clasped the woman's hand and carried her to her face, then moved the delicate fingers.
"Look and feel. I'm your sister, Angel. I'm not the son of a bitch who would betray you. I'm not leaving you alone. Soon we will reach the point of victory over their suffering. Please, just hold on a little bit."
The woman's faint whispers sounded after Skylar finished the sentence. Angel shook her head weakly while trying to move her lips with great difficulty.
" Silk .. please ...." The woman spoke softly in the middle of her cries. "J—don't him. No, Arlan ...”
It should have been the words that had just been heard that became the point of light that Arlan was not the perpetrator who made himself like this. And it wasn't Starla who was the target of the man's revenge. However, whatever happened, Skylar clasped tightly onto her shaken body. The man did not catch what he just said. His voice was too soft and raspy that the man could not digest it properly.
Sorry .. I'm sorry, Starla. I beg you, forgive me.
"All will be well. You'll be happy after this. I promise!"
