Origin of ruqyah

Asy-Shifa bint Abdullah bin Abdusy Shams bin Khalaf bin Syadad al-Qarshiyah al-Adwiyah was the first woman to teach reading the Quran and treatment of Ruqya. Although having rare skills in his time did not make this Shahabiyah jumawa, he was notoriously humble.

As narrated Shaykh Abu Malik Muhammad bin Hamid in his book 150 Women of Shalihah Exemplary Muslimah Throughout the Mass, that Asy-Syifa could not do the treatment before his Prophet Muhammad PBUH convinced him.

"I will not be meruqyah until I get the permission of the Prophet SAW" he said.

Before doing the treatment by way of ruqyah Asy-Syifa first need to come to the Prophet and say. "O Messenger of Allah, I have meruqyah by meruqyah jahiliyah and I want to show it to you" he said.

Not long after, the Prophet replied. "Show me."

Then Ash-Shifa showed it to the Prophet SAW. Thus he meruqyah by using a name (a type of cut of skin). After that the Prophet said.

"Meruqah do you with it and teach it to Hafsah, in the name of Allah, remove Satan, O Lord of men. And, meruqyahlah by using turmeric wood and apply (.. the sick part)."

An hour has passed...
