Chapters. 42. Pain in the Past.

Hyuna looked at the mother sharply when she heard her mother's words. Then he recalled what happened back in the car, was Vicky waiting for him just to joke like that?

Hyuna shook her head to dispel the memory, making the mother look at her question mark.

"What's up, kid? Is there a problem with you?"

"Huh? N-no, Mom. Everything's fine."

Hyuna commented on the thin smile to reassure her mother, there was no way she would tell her about Vicky's amazing joke.

Not wanting to hear any more questions from her mother, Hyuna decided to go to her room. His mouth was unusual for lying and would definitely glide freely when his mother again asked.

Hyuna then laid her body on the bed. Several times he said istighfar to calm his turbulent heart. Any woman would be confused if she heard the word marriage spoken from the mouth of a man, as well as with him.

"Basic. How could she say a joke when her face was more serious than mine while cooking?"

Hyuna shook her head again while chuckling softly. However, if what the man said was true how? Suddenly Hyuna's reddened face made her immediately pull the blanket, it seemed like she had to take a break as her mind was already bouncing everywhere.

Meanwhile, Vicky who was already in his room seemed to smile when he remembered his friendship with Hyuna earlier. He could have said something like that, which really made him very embarrassed.

"Why would I say such a silly thing?"

Vicky rubbed his face violently. Lately his mind has always been filled by Hyuna, even several times he often dreams of the woman. Could it be that she had really fallen in love with him?

Vicky walked up to the closet and opened one of the drawers to pick up something. His hand held a picture of a woman who seemed to be laughing.

"Lately I haven't missed you again, Friska. Could it be that I've fallen in love with that woman?"

Vicky paused for a moment while looking at a picture of a woman named Friska. He then put it back in the drawer and climbed into the bed.

Hyuna's presence really made a huge impact in Vicky's life. Life that felt empty and filled with silence suddenly felt different, even his behavior towards Wildan was also much different from the one before.

The loss of the much loved wife really shook Vicky's life, even he could not smile at the birth of his beloved baby.

How could he possibly smile when his wife died giving birth to her own flesh and blood? Let alone to smile, even he was reluctant to see his son who had just been born into the world.

For years Vicky kept guilt and hatred in his heart. He felt guilty for making his wife pregnant, then the woman had to lose her life because she gave birth to her child.

He also had time to hate Wildan who had taken his own mother's life. How could God give one life to his son, while his wife's life was forcibly taken? Even the wife had not had time to see someone she had given birth to by exchanging lives.

For 5 years Wildan's birth, only this year did Vicky celebrate his son's birthday. At first he didn't even think about it at all, but he overheard Wildan and his mother sitting in the garden next to the house.

"Oma, it's Wildan's birthday tomorrow, right?

"Yes, Honey. Wh why? Do you want to ask anything from oma?"

"No, Honey. Why should you hate your birthday? Papa's just busy, you know that your papa's a workaholic?"

"But, my friends are all celebrating birthdays. They also took pictures of my mom and dad."

Hearing the chat, Vicky's heart throbbed, until he decided to celebrate Wildan's birthday and invited his son's friends to make Wildan happy.

Tonight, Vicky slept with the pain in his chest. Although almost 5 years have passed, but he has not been able to forget the events that took the life of a woman who was loved so much.

After a few days together with Hyuna and Yudha, their parents have returned to the village.

Hyuna then prepared to go to the restaurant, but her steps stopped when she saw Yudha was also dressed neatly as if she was going somewhere.

"Loh, said you were in the afternoon, Dek?"

Yudha who was wearing shoes raised her head. "Yes, Mother. But there's a little business with friends. Come on, I'll take you to the restaurant first!"

Hyuna nodded her head and passed out of the house, she then locked her house and climbed onto Yudha's motorbike.

From a distance, there was a pair of eyes that noticed Hyuna's movements from inside the car. For days he found out about the woman, and only now has his home address.

"What's so great about him, that he makes Vicky's sister like that?" Risa looked at Hyuna sharply until the woman left from there. "I am even more beautiful and kind than her, why would Vicky prefer to be close to a widow?"

Risa really doesn't understand. Years of chasing after Vicky's love have not come to fruition at all, she even has to swallow the disappointment of the man being close to another woman.

"I used to let her get married because I couldn't do anything about it, but now I'm going to make sure that Vicky's sister won't be with another woman besides me."

Risa then went from that place to the campus. He had to finish his S2 education immediately in order to join Vicky's company, it was one way to get closer to the man.

Arriving at the restaurant, Hyuna felt surprised when she saw the whereabouts of someone. He even sharpened his vision to be sure that what he was seeing right now was not wrong.

"What's he doing here?"
