In the research lab, thousands of scientists are busy testing monkeys. They want to prove if the apes can grow big if injected with concoction that has been concocted.
"Enter hexane, add a little alkaline solution. Don't forget the potion as the key." The oldest scientist to lead this research. He just stood up casually while pointing here and there. His name is Walvin, has served almost 50 years as the chief scientist.
While all the scientists were busy, one scientist ran to Walvin to give him some news. "Chairman! There's a problem in the next room. The solution just kept going up and did not want to stop even though the fire was turned off" said Argon became panicked.
"All right, I'll go there first. Everyone keep working here and take care of the ape. Don't let him escape." Walvin ordered before leaving the room.
All the scientists who were in the room became relieved. Those who were serious about work can now rest after Walvin leaves.
"I don't understand the chairman. He was so old he should have chosen to rest and not have to work here anymore. But it's still there" said Banda, a new scientist who has only been in for a few weeks.
"Yes. We are just employing something easy. Dealing with monkeys. He thinks this is a tough job? Everything we use is not harmful. Hexana, is that all?" said Sindi, the only female scientist who has long worked but is still on a beginner's lap.
They all let out a rough sigh hoping for a miracle in themselves. This beginner room bored them all. There was only a small amount of solution they could use. But, suddenly the ape that they were brackets came off. The monkey then jumped and messed up the beginner's labotarium. Banda tries to catch him with friends, while Sindi secures the finished solution.
Sindi suddenly fell down making the solution in her hand come off. The solution soaked the floor and hit the monkey. Ape began to act abnormally like pain until it finally hit the bat in the net until the bat fell perfectly into the yellow solution. The solution made by the beginner. The solution was boiling and the bat was already out of sight.
"How's this? The bat got into the solution" said Sindi who panicked. He was confused until the chairman found out.
"Relax, the chairman is not here. We just need to shut up and not tell him" Banda said, calming all of his panicked friends.
Banda then captures the monkey and binds it back to how it was. All novice scientists think if the problem will subside there. Without them being discovered, the bats that have been dropped into solution are bats that are testing to change their food chain.
The chairman returned and saw the results of the novice scientific percentage. He then nodded in pride at this rookie team that he was always proud of in the meeting room.
"good job. Tomorrow we take this solution to a storage area so that it can be used in medicine if needed" said the chairman confidently.
"Okay, chief." they answered simultaneously despite trying to cover up his nervousness.
Walvin walked out, but he suddenly stopped when he felt something was odd. Walvin turned around and checked the still-bound train. Not wanting to think about it any longer which would only make him dizzy, Walvin immediately left the place and returned to his room.
The day just passed. It has been three months since that incident. In a simple house, a woman who was 155 cm tall hit a sturdy man with a bolted pillow.
Barra is just an unemployed, he is also just a high school graduate because he does not want to continue to college feel waste of time even though he got a scholarship. Barra prefers morning, noon, and night fall. Rarely did he leave the house unless forced to help his mother who sells clothes in the market. Barra's mother owns a small shop, a relic of Barra's late father.
"Yes, yeah. Stop hitting me. I could die suddenly then continue." said Barra who woke up.
"Thank God you're dead. Life alone is troublesome, more so if it dies." replied the indifferent Princess.
"Hey, Princess! Watch your words, I'm your brother. You must obey me according to mother's words. Hear right?" barra said while pointing at her little sister.
"Why? You're just unemployed, there's nothing to expect from you. Every day his work is just a fall. Self-conscious, no woman will be your wife later. You slackers!" the Princess who ran out of Barra's room.
"Basic, little brother! You only see this brother of yours one eye. If you get sick later, who's gonna get you the medicine? I made a blender for you. The drugs are getting expensive, you think we can buy them, ha!" shouted Barra who started to prise.
Barra then throws a bolster pillow that her sister uses to hit her. After that, walk out of his room towards the bathroom. After cleaning up, Barra heads to the market where her mother is.
While on the way, Barra noticed something strange. Some people were seen holding her stomach and there were even people who fainted. Surprised and curious, Barra tried to observe the person up close but not too close. Everyone started crowding and touching the person trying to help him.
"His lips are pale, paler than a corpse. Her hair looks like it's falling out and it looks like her stomach is hurting. His toenails also look strange, what is this disease?" asked Barra who was astonished. Usually, there are no signs like this if only stomach pain.
"Oh, my goodness. There are more people who have fainted!" people shouted while looking across the street.
Barra started to remember her mother. He ran quickly after his mother who was working. When he got there, Barra was still able to breathe a sigh of relief when she saw her mother busy offering her merchandise.
"Please choose, Mom. It's quality clothes, I guarantee." said Barra's mother who smiled friendly.
"How, Ma? A lot of customers today?" asked Barra who was directly sitting on the chair.
"You just came? What was Sindi awake again? Why do you like to sleep more and more. Can't do anything, help mom early to open the store. Last mother to bad luck." reprimanded Barra's mother.
"Yes, sorry" said Barra, who did not feel guilty at all. It was common for him to get angry from his mother like this.
