The Dimension of Fear

At midnight, asleep, Viana groped a pillow to support her head. His hands are also looking for a blanket that may be slid or kicked during sleep. Viana searched for the two objects with her eyes closed, half conscious.

The night wind from the unclosed window made Viana cold. He opened his eyes to find a blanket. But Viana was surprised when she found out her body was floating on the bed in a lying position.

Viana tried to reach the bed, but her body seemed to be pressed to the ceiling by the air. “What is this?” Viana started to feel uneasy.

The open window of the room makes the wind more fierce and fluttering curtains. Outside, the forest was thick and dark. Viana started to get scared. He began to worry about disturbing ghosts.

Viana's heart beat faster. He was afraid that a ghost would harm him. The lights of the royal room that were turned off made him even more afraid. He wanted to scream, but his voice was blocked. There was no sound that he could make.

Viana called out the names of Asteria and Prince Sagi, hoping that anyone would come and help her. But his mouth just gasped without making a sound. It was as if something was making the vita his voice stop working.

Viana started to panic. His face began to heat up and sweat. Even though the night wind makes the temperature in his room cold. “God, please protect me,” wail Viana in heart.

“Viana,” the voice of a man in the dark corner of the room makes Viana even more thumping. “Do not be afraid,” continued the man who stood in the darkness.

The man stepped closer to Viana. Viana saw it and she felt doubt the man with the appearance of a King was a ghost. Or maybe he's the ghost of a king who died hundreds of years in this kingdom? Viana was worried again.

“Si-s-who are you?” asked Viana nervously. Finally he could make his voice which had been lost.

The man moved his hand and lowered Viana. Now they stand facing.

“My name is Luid Cornius. I was King in this kingdom 993 years ago,” the man said without further ado.

Viana screamed and held her mouth. “So right you are a ghost?”

“I'm not a ghost. I'll explain everything to you.”

Viana could not hide her fear.

“You need to calm down. I'm not gonna hurt you. I just want to talk to you,” said King Luid.

Looking at Viana who could not calm down, King Luid flicked his finger. The room turned into a tree. They're in the woods. This made Viana even more afraid.

“You should be able to control your fear. After that we talk.” King Luid was still trying to calm Viana down.

Viana finally calmed her heartbeat. It has its own trauma to fear. When his father and mother died in a storm, he became afraid of the sea. Later, he became a loner and was less sociable until Middle Level School. At the High School he had just found a friend named Asteria.

“I know your heart and mind. I felt uneasy and frightened as my light penetrated into your body,” King Luid said. He finally recounted past events, the Sky Force attack, and his soul that was stored in the spell until finally the soul was now free even though his physique was gone.

“You know, I had to sacrifice myself with a very high probability of failure when I decided to keep my soul in the forbidden spell. If only Prince Sagi had not activated that spell, I would have been stuck in the spell forever. To make that decision I need courage and to take away my fear,” said King Luid.

Viana started to control herself. “Now where are we?” tanyakanya.

“This is the Dimension of Fear. The fear will feel great here. You need to be able to control your fear more. You must have courage. Because there's something I need to explain to you.”

“I'll try to calm down,” Viana said.

In the forest around Viana there was now a blazing fire, there were several figures of beings that floated without a clear form, a darting shadow, a meiliite snake on the branch, and a tree that can move itself like a human. Viana was scared again.

“The more you try to be brave, the more the energy of fear around you enlarges. You must not force to dare, but control your fear,” said King Luid.

Once again Viana calmed down and tried to fight her fear. He closed his eyes. All this time he had lived with anxiety and fear which was quite long. Maybe this is the right time for him to heal himself from excessive fear, and become more courageous.

“The feeling of fear in every human being is alma mater and biologically embedded, just like desire and lust. We all naturally have it. When we are born with fear of all things, courage comes after we learn it. Courage we did not carry at birth,” explained King Luid. “You must learn and know all that scares you so that you are bolder.”

Viana opened her eyes. When he looked around, everything changed. The forest has now been transformed into a beautiful park.

“Courage is like a flower in bloom. It will give a sense of comfort to the owner, and a sense of liking for people who see it. You must have the courage and confidence to make you bloom like a flower,” said King Luid.

Vana is calmer now. The cool, blooming garden makes it more comfortable.

King Luid returned to his duties. He explained about his journey to see the future and saw the attack of the Sky Troop that will again attack 1000 years after the first attack. Precisely when the blue moon that only appears once every 1000 years.

“Seven more years Sky Troops will attack,” Viana said.

“And I've seen how they attack with great force,” added The King. “This kingdom needs a hero who has the courage to fight the Sky Force,” he continued.

“Where can we find that hero?” ask Viana.

“The hero already exists. He stands before me,” said King Luid.

Viana looked back. There was no one else but him. “You mean me?” ask Viana.

“Ya, who else?” answer King Luid.

“But .... how can it? I don't have any abilities as a hero. And I'm too timid to be a hero.”

“There is still time for you to prepare yourself. You can be stronger than you think as long as you want to. All you need right now is courage,” King Luid assured.

Can I do it? Viana Mumbled.

King Luid picked a sprig of tulips growing in the garden. He handed it to Viana.

Viana, who had come to believe in King Luid, thoughtlessly accepted the flower. The tulip flower that was now in his hand slowly let out a smooth white root. The moment Viana opened her palm, the tulip flower stood on the surface of her palm with the root sticking out of it.

With a speed per second, Viana sensed that something was flowing through her blood. From within each of her veins, delicate roots ran through Viana's body. Then the tulips that bloomed in her hands became buds. Slowly the flower buds shrink like they follow a backward flow of time. The longer, the flower shrinks and enters into Viana's surface skin.

“Acada flowers that are now in your body will be a provision for you to find your strength and confidence. You must make it bloom with your life,” said King Luid. “Now try to focus your mind. Think there's a plant out of your hand.”

Viana followed. He thought of the plant coming out of his hand. After a few minutes, he failed.

“Try to calm yourself. Focus, be sure and get it out,” said King Luid.

Viana tried it again. Yet still failed.

“You still don't have a strong belief. You have to find faith in yourself. You have to exceed your abilities. You have to face the challenge to get it.” King Luid tried to awaken Viana's desire.

“What should I go through?” ask Viana.

Without a second thought, King Luid returned the two of them to the Dimension of Fear. The dark forest and all the strangeness now appear again.

“You must pass this Dimension of Fear. After passing through this dimension, you will enter other dimensions that are different. Each dimension will be more difficult. You have to find yourself here,” said King Luid.

Viana thought. He weighed his doubts and beliefs. The more hesitant he is, the higher his curiosity will be to awaken the confidence that is in him.

“I'm willing to go through all these challenges,” Viana said finally.

King Luid smiled. Without much more explanation King Luid kept the spell on Viana's left arm to use as Viana completed her mission.

“Your time is not much. You should be able to remember the time,” said King Luid.

“I will use this opportunity well. I'll be back at the right time,” said Viana.

King Luid was resigned and disappeared. Leaving Viana alone in the Dimension of Fear.
