THE ENTERTAINER
CHAPTER 47

“Naya? You're serious, right?”

Clara's voice on the other end was in disbelief at Naya's words she had just heard.

“I have no friends besides you, Ra.”

“You married at the end of the world I must have come, Na. I mean, what about his family? Can you handle it?”

Naya sighed. He glanced at Noah who was making coffee on the kitchen table.

“I should be able to handle it.”

“Good. I'll be there this week.”

“Thank you, Ra. Bye.”

Naya put down her phone. It has been a week since they left Singapore. Their 20-sheet wedding invitation was overwhelming for Naya. He had no one to invite except Clara, and Noah had no one to invite. At Naya's request, their marriage will be done in private. Only their closest relatives and relatives will be present.

Noah, who offered him a warm cup of coffee, broke Naya's daydream.

“What's up? Clara can't come?” Noah asked after seeing a sad look on Naya's face.

“She can come.”

“Then?”

Naya sipped her coffee. “There is one invitation left. Can you invite your father?”

“No need. He'll only make a mess if it comes.” Noah was uncomfortable.

Naya looked down, looking at the glass in her hand. “I want to meet him.”

“For what? We'll get married despite his absence.”

Naya. He saw in Noah's bead. “Let me meet him once again, yes. I promise, whatever he says won't make me hesitate.”

Noah didn't like the idea. “You sure?”

Naya holds her glass onto the table, then takes Noah's hand and holds it. “I want to start this relationship without saving any wound. Although Mr. Elmer did not approve of our marriage, at least, I have already asked for his blessing.”

Hearing Naya's sincerity, made a small smile on Noah's face. He pulled Naya and hugged her. “Alright, we will both try to ask for his blessing.”

***

Naya lied that she wasn't nervous. Everything he wanted to say was like overflowing unceasing. He should have written his words on paper, so that he would not forget them. As he stood before the big door, Noah turned his head towards him worriedly. Naya shook her head with a smile, hinting she would be fine.

As soon as the big door opened, a neatly dressed old woman greeted them.

“Please, Big Master is already waiting in the back garden. Let me inter.”

Naya's feet stepped in Noah's footsteps beside her, down the large house with various expensive furniture. The marble floors that collided with Noah's pantofel shoes and Naya's heels echoed the silence. The big house felt so quiet.

To the left of the back garden, there is a separate pavilion from the main building. Buildings specifically built to channel the hobby of the homeowner. There was a big fish pond and an old man was in his wheelchair feeding his beloved fish.

“What are you guys doing here for?” ask without looking at it a bit.

“We will get married next month,” replied Noah.

The sound of stifled laughter sounded as if it was reproaching. “I think your woman can hold her own words. As it turns out, he's still clinging to you like a leech.”

“She's my future wife. Watch your words.”

Naya squeezes Noah's hand. To stop him from getting angry.

“Noah, can I speak to Mr Elmer?”

Noah doesn't want to stay away, but Naya tries to convince him.

After Noah's figure disappeared in the main building, Naya walked over, now she was standing by the fish pond. Two meters down next to Elmer.

“I know, you will never accept me because of my past and my lower status of your family. However, sir, do you know that Noah is the one who suffers the most here?”

“What do you mean?” asked Elmer with a ketus. No friendliness or stale bases.

“Noah told me about what happened to his father and mother. All this time, have you never thought about what Noah felt as a child? You treated him all this time as your heir and successor.”

“You're just an outsider, don't act like you know my family.”

Naya smiled. “You're right, I'm just an outsider. I don't intend to give you any advice or anything. I just want you to realize that Noah, your only son, is a man with feelings. He is not a robot that you create just to meet your expectations. In the past, Noah only had his mother, even though his mother barely recognized him.”

“I used to think that leaving Noah was the only way to protect him. Turns out, I was wrong, I was the one who left him too when he had no one else. Because of that ...” Naya. He now stood firm, looked directly at the face of the man he feared so much, and then smiled sweetly.

“I don't care how strong, or how you'll separate me and Noah again, I'll never leave him. Even if this world were to ignore him, I am the one who will be with him until the end.”

“You think I'll give you my blessing by saying that shit?”

“I'm not here to ask for your blessing. But to make you calm. Your child who you never cared about, now has someone who will be by his side. I really hope, you are always healthy, and see how Noah will be happy.”

“Oh, yes... one more Master, than to live alone here, don't you have a woman who has been waiting for you for a long time?”

The movement of Elmer who was feeding his fish stopped in the air. That speech quite jolted his heart.

Without waiting for an answer, Naya looked down respectfully, then placed her wedding invitation on a table not far from where she was standing, and walked away. Naya took her breath in relief, even though her hand was shaking violently. He squeezed the edge of his shirt to hide it.

Naya approached Noah who was waiting for her anxiously. As Noah hugged her tightly, Naya's hand immediately stopped shaking.

“You're great.” Noah praised.

Netra Naya glazed over, but her heart which was now as light as without a pile of weight, made her lips smile wide. While grabbing Noah's hand, he said, “Let's go home, there's still a lot we have to prepare,” take Naya with a smile that will no longer ever fade from her face.
