CHAPTER 8 - Why Are You Back?

The car drove quickly towards the hospital. Roy wants to see the situation of his parents. Indeed, during this time their families were very busy, it was very difficult to arrange a time to meet.

The Hospital

Arriving at the hospital Roy hastened his pace. It was as if his heart was already impatient to immediately meet the two people he loved so much. Rushing over he headed to the special hallway of their family's inpatient room.

For a moment he stopped right in front of the door of the room where his father was being cared for.

He sighed.

"CLICK"

Roy opens the door, seeing a beautiful woman who is fast asleep from exhaustion caring for her husband who is still lying in bed unconscious. Roy approached the beautiful figure, and rested on his feet as he kissed his hands.

Slowly the woman opened her eyes, and how surprised she was, when she saw her beloved son in front of her.

A smile spread across his lips, followed by tears that fell without being able to control the sense of haru and happiness overflowed in his chest.

"My handsome son. Mom misses you so much. I'm happy to see you here" said her mother, wiping away her tears.

The woman hugged her child tightly, as if she did not want to let go.

"Mom, how's Dad doing?" ask Roy.

"Your father is still unconscious. I don't think, how can this disaster befall our family."

"Your father has been very good at sustaining the needs of your Uncle's entire family."

"Easy, Mother. Don't be ripped off again. The most important thing right now is Dad's recovery" said Roy to calm his mother.

Roy stepped his foot into the bed where his father was lying. He bowed his back, and whispered in his father's ear.

"Dad, no need to worry. Everything's gonna be fine. Dad's job after waking up is to make mom laugh until she forgets how to cry" said Roy jokingly to his father who still closed his eyes.

"Mom, I'm going to the office right now" Roy said, hugging his mother. "It's time to clean up all this mess. Do not forget, eat regularly and go to the salon. Don't let this face lose its charm when you wake up" Roy said.

"Thank you for comforting me."

Roy rushed out of the room. Ben who was waiting for him outside immediately followed his superior.

"Sir Director, everything is ready. The meeting will start in less than an hour." reports Ben.

"To the office now!" roy's orders.

"Good."

Roy immediately studied the files Ben had prepared in the car. Seeing his boss who hasn't rested after Ben's flight is a bit worried.

"Sorry Mr. Director, this was my coffee, because from earlier I have not rested I think this can help you to be more relaxed" said Ben while giving a cup of Americano.

"Thank you Ben. You better drink too. Because today will be a little heavy" Roy said, sipping his coffee.

"Ben, call Helena! I need a new shirt suit." Roy ordered.

"Well, Mr. Director." replied Ben who immediately contacted Helena.

AOne company is a company engaged in development. The projects handled always get special recognition. And many investors are interested in working together because of the obvious advantages.

As the saying goes, the wheel of life is spinning. Sometimes below and sometimes above. I don't know what causes it, but it's the life cycle.

All shareholders are present in the boardroom. Everyone was wondering, Joseph was already here, but why didn't he sit in the chair of the President. Who will sit in that empty chair.

Soon, a man with a more powerful aura than President Riezel Mannof entered the meeting room. He is none other than Roy Alexander Mannof.

Roy sat in the empty chair. Silent room. There are disparaging views, there are also wary views.

"From today, he will take over the duties of the President including the construction and development of the Fourth Heaven mega project" the voice of Shin's secretary who firmly broke the silence.

Everyone was shocked to hear Secretary Shin's words.

"Why this guy? Isn't there Director Joseph?" said one shareholder.

"I know I have a very smart and competent younger brother at a young age. But it doesn't make sense to leave this much responsibility to an inexperienced boy" Roy grinned.

All astonished, they forgot apparently the first son of the President who lived independently because he had never heard from him at all.

"You don't have to worry. If you're afraid we're losing investors, just tell them to think twice if you want to revoke the investment from Fourth Heaven. If insisted, blacklist all cooperation between us and them. We will only work with people who believe in our abilities, AOne" Roy explained.

"I've given a new task to the Planning Team and later in the afternoon we will see their presentation. Don't be surprised if we take extreme steps."

"Meeting completed. Oho! Give me a good idea at the meeting after lunch" Roy said with a stressed look.

Roy stood up from his seat. Then left the meeting room with Ben. While the shareholders are still surprised by the appearance of Roy.

On the other hand they are relieved and on the other hand they are still doubtful on Roy's ability.

"Preferably gentlemen calm down. Because Young Master Roy is very reliable" said Shin's secretary who left after saluting them.

Joseph himself was still shocked by the presence of his brother, because all this time he had not met him. She thought her brother cut off family ties so she had to study desperately to become a family successor. And now suddenly her brother was talking about rights.

He stood up from his chair and ran after Roy. All this time he did not know anything, even the arrival of Helena as his secretary was already planned by Roy.

Joseph looked for him in the Presidency room, sure enough. Roy was sitting there checking a stack of documents.

With a gasping breath and a stammering voice as if something wanted to explode from within his chest, he asked his brother.

"Why is my brother back? Why does Big Brother make me carry the burden of being a successor? Why is Brother like a Brother who died for me?" Joseph sniffling.

"WHY?!" his yell.

Joseph's cry broke. Roy knows, Joseph is too young to accept corporate responsibility. Even he was only 19 years old. Two years older than Leah.

Roy knew Joseph loved him very much, and so did he.

"How can a man cry like this?"

Roy got up from his chair and sat leaning against the table. "Even your height is almost the same as mine."

Joseph just cried like a boy. The deep yearning for her brother came to its place.

"Steep your clothes. What kind of shirt is this? At least wear clothes that fit, not greatness like this. And eat a lot. Tskc. What are you eating until you're thin like this?" roy said as he tidied up Joseph's clothes.

"Who am I doing this for?" shouted Joseph.

Roy sighed, "All right, all right. We'll talk at home. Now prepare yourself for the meeting later."

There is no doubt in the word family, be it Roy or Leah. Family means one. One wholeness.
