The Debt Redeemer

The Debt Redeemer
71. Necklaces

Milla would not let go of her embrace. The woman is seen rubbing her wet cheeks by her own tears. Meanwhile, Deka took off a necklace she was wearing. The necklace looks ordinary.

"This is the necklace that my teacher got. According to my teacher, this necklace has a lot of meaning. But I forgot what that means." Terang Deka put her necklace on Milla's hand so that the woman could feel her given necklace.

"Hiks, w-why is it like this?" Milla asked as she touched Deka's necklace.

Deka chuckled at Milla's question.

"It was a dented bullet. My teacher says this necklace is a very valuable protective talisman. Although it sounds very old-fashioned and like secondhand, will you accept this necklace?"

"Isn't that a problem? Isn't this your teacher's gift?" Milla felt reluctant to accept something as valuable as that.

"No problem. That necklace doesn't work if I'm wearing it. But it's different if you wear it."

Deka rubbed the tears on Milla's cheek which slowly still fell.

Milla nodded in response.

"Let me put it on for you."

Deka took the necklace from Milla's hand and put it on Milla's neck.

"Ehm, does that suit me?" Tanya Milla asked Deka for her opinion. Milla who was conscious in not wearing anything covered her body parts with a blanket.

"Of course, you're perfectly suited to wearing it." Deka answered, turning his face away. Seeing Milla's smooth neck brings her back to deja vu with her last night's activities. For there are some signs that Deka left behind.

Deka pinched Milla's cheek slowly.

"Come, are you just gonna spend some time being sad? Come on, you're a strong woman.I'm sure you can get through this."

"Aw," Milla held her cheek. "ak-I just meant to thank you. Honestly, you're the only one who wants to help me."

Deka felt sorry to hear that. He knows how Milla was before they met. The woman has been dumped by others several times. Both her friend and even her ex-boyfriend. After the accident 7 months ago, everyone nearby suddenly just left him. Starting from his mother died right at the time of the accident that he experienced at that time because they both were indeed riding the same car. His father followed a few days after the accident.

"If you're grateful I don't think it's necessary. Shouldn't humans help each other." Reply Deka tries to be as happy as possible so that Milla does not grieve.

"At least help you, make me able to atone for my sins even if only a little." Inner Deka because he himself offended why he was willing to act this far for Milla. Whereas if it was her a few years ago, she would have been indifferent to Milla as long as no one was bothering her.

Milla shook her head. Helping her blind and having nothing is not natural. If it was the average person, they would definitely avoid this problem. But, Milla touched on how to tell Deka. He was afraid of offending the man.

"Here you go, don't think too much. Let's just say I'm a prayer God has given you to help you. So, no need to think too much about thanking or anything like that. Just focus on your recovery. There are many things you need to prepare." Keep Deka so that Milla is not too burdened about feeling bad for her.

"Hhhmm, you're right." Reply Milla gave a smile to Deka.

"Well, that's good. Before that, let's have breakfast first. I'm sure you must be hungry. Because last night you were so vicious." said Deka moved from the top of the mattress.

Milla who heard the word last night, instantly blushed.

"Oh, so me and him actually went through that hot night?" Milla's murmured drowned her face towards the blanket.
