Chapter 13
Diane ran to the cashier area and there was already the sound of the cash register printing the bills!
"Miss, the total price is $487,000, I will register the car for you. We'll also give you a free sticker and a gas station recharge card."
The sales girl was very excited. He didn't expect to make a sale so quickly after starting work here.
The commission is also not small for BMW.
He used both of his hands to return the receipt and card to Diane, and his voice trembled slightly. "This is your card and receipt. I'll get a temporary license plate for the car first, then after registration is completed, I'll pair the actual license plate for you."
Dian stunned.
He had not expected this saleswoman to process everything so quickly. And more than that, Ethan's card actually has so much money in it!
Almost $500.000!
And it was just spent?
He has been working very hard for the past two years, and there is only a meager $50,000 in his savings. Ethan...only a vagrant, where did he get this much money?
Diane walked towards Ethan, her eyes looking at him like he was a monster.
He still can't believe it. This car was bought by them.
Not just him. Even the salespeople in the corner felt their stomachs heartburn. It was they who first saw Ethan enter, but they did not care and ended up giving this golden opportunity to a novice.
"She's seriously buying it?"
One of them could not help but ask the beginner.
"He did! So cool!" The salesman could not hide his joy. "I've seen the symbols on that card before, it's a very special card, and you need to have a minimum amount in your account to get it!"
Is that 100 million? Or 1 billion?
All the sales assistants within earshot gulped and slapped themselves. They had made a huge loss this time!
The salesman doesn't care about them. The commission from this sale was enough to make him happy for half a year. He quickly left to prepare the car and license his temporary.
On the other hand, Diane pouted. The more he looked at Ethan, the more he didn't understand about him.
"How many things are you hiding from me?"
"Not much, I'll tell you in the future."
Ethan shrugged his shoulders. All she did was buy a car for a few hundred thousand dollars, did Diane really have to look at it that way?
"Come in and feel."
He opened the car door and told Diane to get into the car.
As she sat in the soft car seat, Diane felt like she was dreaming. That's so unreal.
"Sir, I've processed the license plate temporarily, and it will take two more days to complete the actual plate and you can stop by the store to install it. If you need anything, you can call me anytime."
The salesman bowed and politely placed his business card on a very flashy part of the car.
"Can we go?" ask Ethan.
"Yes." Yeah."
"Wait, what about my scooter?" Suddenly Diane remembered the scooter that had accompanied her for the past two years.
"Leave."
Ethan doesn't bother to say anything more and gets into the driver's seat, starts the engine and leaves.
The saleswoman saw them off while still feeling flushed. This was the first time he had seen this rich person.
He bought a BMW like he bought groceries!
Especially the calm and careless expression on Ethan's face. It gave off a kind of strange middle-aged man charm, and he was completely blown away.
Other sales assistants were filled with regret, but there was nothing they could do but blame themselves for being blind. So good at judging people – it's all bullshit!
Ethan drives while Diane sits in the front passenger seat. Inevitably he reached out his hand to touch the car's original leather interior. She looked at the beautiful dashboard and wondered how she would explain this to her parents.
He drove the scooter out and somehow it turned into a BMW when he came back?
"Ethan, you're not an ordinary person, are you?"
No matter how naive Diane was, she knew no ordinary man on the streets could spend $500,000 on such a car.
"Why do you have so much money?"
"If you have so much money, then why are you applying to marry into the Palmers family and be laughed at by everyone?"
He has a thousand questions.
"You've heard of the Beggar Sect from the old sword fighting novels? My sect is quite rich," replied Ethan haphazardly.
It took Diane a while to react and suddenly realized that Ethan was teasing her.
"Can you be serious!"
Diane stopped asking. He knew this man would not tell the truth. But in these two days, Ethan has given him surprise after surprise, each bigger than the last.
He found it hard to believe what was happening. Ethan is supposed to be a homeless man married to his family and dependent on his family for daily necessities.
But why should he humble himself like this?
Magnolia Plantation.
Diane and the family have been living here for the past ten years. Ever since William was paralyzed in that car accident, they moved here.
April pushes a wheelchair and goes for a walk with William.
Both of them seemed worried about something and said nothing.
"Oh April, you take another walk."
One of the neighbors' aunts called him from afar. "I heard Diane got married, and your daughter-in-law lives with you."
There was something in his tone of voice that made his listeners feel uncomfortable.
April squeezed a smile but did not want to answer it.
Having a man marry into a family is nothing to be proud of. But after only two days, the entire city found out. How shameful!
"Let's go home," William sighed.
"You're coming back? It's not time to cook yet, why not spend a little more time in the sun," the aunt turned and walked towards them. "Tsk, you have a wedding and don't even give the wedding cake to the neighbors."
"What does your son-in-law look like? What kind of qualifications does he have? I'm sure he's really rich, right?"
William's family was also related to the Palmer family. Even if he wasn't as rich as Steven, surely he couldn't be that bad.
April's facial sharpener started to pale. "What does this have to do with you?"
Auntie immediately frowned when she heard this.
"What makes you angry? You found someone to marry into the family, and I can't even ask?"
Of course he already knew everything before asking.
Who on this small estate did not know about this big news?
Diane is a beautiful young woman, but they find someone to marry into her family. They had even heard that he was a homeless man and ten years older than Diane!
What kind of bad taste does this Palmer family have? Why did they choose such a man?
"You…"
April was getting angry and her face was flushed.
"I don't really want to say this, but you are his parents, yet you are not helping to get a good deal for him. Didn't I introduce a good boy to Diane back then?"
"He works for the government, has a stable job of 9 to 5. I'm very kind to introduce him to you but you don't want him and I'm even scolded by his family. Regret now?"
He came to disturb April over this matter.
April was so angry that she started shaking. He turned to leave because he did not want to bother this annoying neighbor anymore.
"You two, better get rid of that son-in-law immediately, and I'll introduce someone else to you, okay?"
Aunty was still persistent, and even had a joyful smile on her face.
Suddenly a new BMW drove past the plantation's main gate and stopped right in front of aunt. The bright white paint in the sun almost blinded him.
Before she can react, Diane and Ethan get out of the car.
"Smute."
call Dian.
Aunt stunned.
"This..this is your car?"
His face was filled with disbelief.
He's seen this car before. When one of her relatives got married, they gave this car as part of her dowry and she heard that it was $500,000! He did not forget the arrogant face on the face of that relative of his!
Diane looked at Ethan and did not know how to respond. This car was bought by Ethan, so it's not his.
"I bought it for him."
Ethan answers for her.
Aunt's face began to pale. Ethan bought? He had married into a family, so how could he have so much money?
"Ethan bought. He said I'd catch a cold for driving a scooter to the office tomorrow morning."
Diane's face was red and said this awkwardly.
At that moment, aunt started to feel jealousy in her heart. Because he'll catch a cold from riding a scooter to the office in the morning?
He still did not need to buy a luxury car for several hundred thousand dollars!
