52. Late home

Joan felt tired after sitting in the movie theater for five hours. He bought two movie tickets with different titles. After the first film was shown, Joan went out and entered another cinema. Although he stared at the screen in front of him, Joan's mind wandered somewhere.

He re-imagines how his love journey with Ken. Joan refuses an old match between herself and Rui in order to be with Ken. However Ken betrays his love and keeps the name of another woman in his heart. Joan kept her heartache as much as possible. He tried to stay even though it was very painful.

Joan did not understand why Ken had to be so angry because of an unclear accusation. Joan tries to explain everything from the beginning, she does not want Ken to continue accusing Joan of cheating. But Ken didn't give Joan any chance. 

Without realizing it, the movie is over. The light that had been dark had now come back on. Joan woke up from her daydream when the lights in the movie theater lit up. The dazzling light from the lights in the sky of the building greeted Joan's eyes, making Joan blink both eyes.

"Eleven o'clock, it's already night. Ah, hopefully when you get home you can go straight to sleep," Joan murmured as she glanced at the clock on her phone. Joan felt pain in her waist due to sitting too long. He decided to walk first, if he was tired of walking then he was looking for a taxi.

Joan walked down the sidewalk in slow steps. He stepped while occasionally looking at the office buildings he passed, sometimes he stopped just looking at the street lights. The night atmosphere in the capital is not as crowded as usual. That night the streets were a little quiet and not much was passing by, apparently because it was not Sunday night.

While passing the road in front of the park, Joan felt her hair sitting up. Joan was agitated, her heart was pounding very fast because she felt that someone was following her. The very quiet atmosphere of the garden added to the fear in Joan's heart. As Joan sped up, two men who had been following Joan ran and arrested Joan.

"PLEASE …. Unhand me! What do you want? Release!" Joan rebelled, trying to escape the clutches of the two men who blocked Joan's hands. 

One of them pulled out a handkerchief that had been given medicine. The man holding the handkerchief immediately smothered Joan's mouth and nose until Joan was limp and unconscious. A car approached them immediately. It turned out that they were not both but three with one of them following with the car, after seeing the two friends managed to sedate Joan, then the man who drove the car approached and opened the car door. They put Joan in the car. The car drove quickly leaving the deserted park streets.

Jhon closed the cafe after all his employees went home. He went home and saw Rina pacing on the front porch. Jhon closed the gate and stepped closer to Rina.

"Ma, why is it outside?" asked Jhon who saw the look of anxiety on Rina's face.

"Joan hasn't come home yet, Jhon. It's been half twelve nights, Joan's never late till this hour." Lina was very worried because Joan's number could not be reached. Lina knew Joan never forgot the time limit of her parents. Even with Ken, Joan was still only a minute or two late from eleven in the evening.

"Have Ken called? Maybe Joan's with him?" Jhon thought it might happen, because they were fighting. It's possible that Joan's at Ken's house, because Ken always dodges outside the house.

"Now, Ken's number could not be reached. Mama called Aunt Lara, and she said Joan wasn't there. Ken has also been sleeping since he got home from his office" replied Rina.

Jhon just remembered, this afternoon Joan said goodbye to the streets. Jhon called Andin's number, who knows Joan actually went with Andin. But Andin was asleep in his room. When Jhon called, Andin answered with half-open eyes. He replied that he did not see Joan and did not know where she was going. Now Jhon is very anxious but he must not make their parents worry. John lied to Rina.

"Ma, Jhon just remembered. Last afternoon Joan said to Jhon that after playing, he wanted to go to stay at his friend Irene's house" said Jhon.

"really?" ask Rina to make sure.

"Yes, I'm sorry Jhon forgot, Ma." John invited Rina into the house.

 Jhon went into the room after Rina entered his room. He pacing back and forth while thinking how he got out without being caught by Rina, Jhon must find Joan. Jhon then crept through the back door, Jhon pushed his motor slowly so as not to wake Rina up. After passing the cafe, Jhon turned on his motorbike and immediately drove down the quiet streets. It was already twelve in the evening, and Jhon felt very worried about him.

Drrv! Drrv!

Jhon's phone vibrated in his shirt pocket. He pulled over and saw the caller ID. John frowned in wonder, he did not know the number. But when I heard the man from across the phone talking. Jhon immediately went to the address that the man mentioned.

"Please! Anybody, help me!" shout Joan. His body was sweating with fear. He tried to pull his hands and feet, but the bond was so strong. Joan could not escape. 

"Please!" Joan kept screaming.

Kreett!

The door of the barn opened, shifting slowly. The friction between the iron door and the floor gave rise to a creaking sound. Joan's breath was hunting, her chest was descending rapidly. She looks scared on her pretty face. Three men broke into the barn, clasped Joan's cell phone and stepped closer.

"You guyswhat? Why are you keeping me locked up? I don't have any problems with you guys." Joan ventured to ask in a stern voice.

"Hi, sweet lady. Don't worry, we just wanted to invite your girlfriend Ken to come here." One of the short, stocky men answered Joan's question with a mysterious smile. He shows Joan's phone and opens the menu on Joan's phone. The first time Joan understood why so many people wear safety locks on their phones. Because Joan did not use a password on her phone, the man easily searched for Ken's mobile number in the phone contact.
