The Desire to America

Kayla holds Steve's body back from attacking Arden. The elevator door opened, Kay quickly pulled Steve out. The two of them were walking fast, but Arden was still coming to the front.

"Oh, yeah, Steve. Aren't you interested in a woman more beautiful than Kayla?" ask Arden.

Steve stopped walking. Previously wanted to obey Kayla's desire not to serve Arden, but the man continued to provoke arguments.

"What is your business?" ask Steve.

"I'm just asking" replied Arden.

"Darling, let me talk to him" said Kayla.

Kayla took a step forward towards Arden. "You want to lick your own spit?"

"What do you mean?" ask Arden.

"We have no relationship whatsoever! Between me and you are just strangers! You remember that, Arden! Are you a woman, huh? That your mouth can't be guarded? I'm sick of you!" kayla said with a tone of anger.

Arden was stunned, then he smiled faintly. "It's over."

"Not yet! I'm warning you, Arden! Never interfere in my business! Get out of my life! All my life, I've regretted being your friend!" kayla was angry. Kayla held out one of her index fingers. "If you dare insult me again, I will not hesitate to report you to the authorities."

"How dare you threaten me! You don't know who I am, Kayla!" said Arden.

"I know who you are! No one supports you, Arden. Your attitude towards me has gone too far and your family knows it! You will be blamed for what I suffered. Because you!" Kayla gasped for emotion, her eyes staring intently at Arden. "You are the source of my suffering!"

"What! Source suffering?" Arden chuckles. "Look at it, Kay. In the future you yourself will draw those words."

Arden stepped past the two, walking first out of the apartment building. While Kayla was relieved to have let out all her heart vexation all this time towards Arden.

"Are you okay, honey?" ask Steve.

Kayla nodded. "Slightly relieved. I hope he doesn't bother me anymore."

"But Arden's son is Mr. Kevin, and you work at their company."

"Om Kevin is the owner of that company. Arden wouldn't have dared to act, and everyone knew he liked to make fun of me" Kayla said.

"That's it. I hope Arden doesn't bother you anymore."

Kayla nodded. "I hope so, dear."

Steve held Kayla's hand, then together headed to the parking lot where their car was. Kayla hitchhiked in her lover's vehicle because today Steve was going to pick her up.

"Damn it!" Arden kicked his own chair. "How dare he!"

Arden remembered every vocabulary Kayla had spoken. Emotions, the look in the woman's eyes, Arden remembered her, and until then would not forget her.

"Is Kayla assigned to be my subordinate?" ask Arden.

"Yes, Sir."

"Move him. I don't accept it. It's up to you to put him where he is" Arden said.

"I'm sorry, sir," said Tono, then walked out of the room.

"Arden doesn't want Kayla to be a subordinate. It just so happens that Papa's here, Arden wants to talk."

"What's wrong?" Kevin sat on the couch, followed by Arden who moved.

"Arden wants to go back to America, and he wants to resign from this company."

Kevin frowned. "Who is this company for? This is all for you."

"But Arden is out!"

"Stop behaving like children. You are an adult" said Kevin.

"Pa, Arden wants to go back to America."

Kevin took a long breath. "You know you want to go back there, but wait for the job to be done here."

"Arden will get the job done here soon, and one more thing, Arden won't cooperate with Kayla. Point!" It is better to leave before the wedding of the woman is held.

"Yes, Kayla will direct Papa's guidance" Kevin said.

In the meantime, Kayla will be Kevin's secretary. That is the part that is the interest of the woman herself. Kayla can set a schedule, handle every job, but she can't set a diet schedule and hold back the appetite. Yes, however Kayla is an ordinary woman who has advantages and disadvantages.

Kayla keeps Kevin's orders. It seems today is overtime. Kevin asked for the financial statements to be completed immediately, and this is Kayla's chance to show her ability if she can work.

At five o'clock in the afternoon, Kayla didn't come home. There were still a few more sheets of paper that he had to reload to report tomorrow. Kayla had sent Steve a message not to pick him up. Were it not for her lover, Kayla would not have wanted to work at Arden's company.

At nine o'clock in the evening, both Arden and Kayla were done with their duties. Both are getting ready to go home.

"Tonight I can't have fun. Better go home to the apartment, then sleep. I'd say mom if I couldn't get back home tonight" Arden said.

On the other side of the room, Kayla was also the same. He was going home because Steve was waiting for him there. Both are on the same floor, but different rooms. While heading for the elevator, Arden and Kayla meet.
