Elena glanced at Kayla who was sitting at the back also looking at Arden who was focused on driving. Tumben once his two children were silent. When you go to the supermarket, you are like a cat and a mouse. There is always a debate between them. Now it's the opposite. Both Arden and Kayla were silent.
"What's this?" ask Elena.
"What's wrong?" Arden asked back.
"You two. The arden! You must be pissing Kayla off again. What did you do to your brother?" cerca Elena's.
"Kayla's not my brother!" argue Arden.
"All right, forget about it. Tell Mama. What did you do to Kayla?"
"I just kissed her cheek."
Elena glared then looked back. "Really, honey?"
Kayla nodded. "Yes, Tan."
"Jeez Arden! How old are you, anyway?"
"We've done it a lot" Arden said.
"Kayla is twenty-five years old and she also has a fiancee. Stop that disrespectful act of yours," Elena asked.
"I don't think Steve is a problem. Come, Ma. Cheek is just a sign of a friend."
"You think so? Kayla doesn't think so."
Arden saw Kayla from the rearview mirror. The woman turned her face to look at the street. Indeed Kay was very angry when they touched, and the kiss on the cheek was not at all a sign of friendship for Arden, but a sense that he himself could not express.
Arriving at home, Elena and Kayla get off the car greeted by Aretha. The young pregnant mother had already arrived fifteen minutes ago.
"Daren baby!" exclaimed Elena who immediately carried the granddaughter.
"You came at last" said Kayla.
Aretha frowned when she saw the look on her friend's slightly moody face. "Why you?"
"Arden kissed Kayla's cheek" Elena replied.
Aretha shook her head. "The kid's a habit."
"Kay, you don't want to help me?" arden shouted with all the groceries out.
"Let me help you" said Aretha.
"Just me, Are. You come in."
Kayla approached Arden and grabbed two bags of groceries from the man. Arden felt that Kayla did not like her actions.
"You really don't like me?" ask Arden.
"I didn't like you in the first place."
"Kay, I mean our relationship a long time ago" Arden said.
Kayla sighed. "I already have a fiancee. I know for Steve a kiss on the cheek doesn't matter, but it's a problem for me."
"I understand. You're getting away from me."
"We should have stayed away" Kayla said.
Arden nodded. "All right, from now on we're breaking up. You are no longer my playmate. I don't know you anymore. Your best friend is only Aretha."
Arden left by bumping into Kayla's shoulder until the woman shifted slightly. Their relationship should be like that. Arden would act at will to Kayla, and Kayla should have made a firm decision. Men and women cannot be friends. The point!
"Where's the cost?" ask Elena.
"Just like Kayla" replied Arden.
"Not helped," Elena grumbled.
Arden did not suppress his mother's grunts, he went straight upstairs. Elena was shocked when the door slammed. Fortunately, he had no history of heart disease.
"It must be angry again with Kayla," Elena muttered.
"Tante, here's the groceries" Kayla said.
"We're going straight to the kitchen."
"I hate him!" said Arden. "Our relationship was already a stranger, and now I don't care at all about what that fat lady did. I better call Lauren and have her have fun for tonight."
The lunch menu is ready and the cake made by the three just waiting to be cooked. Kevin, Dean and Davin have also come from playing golf. Only Raka was not present because the man was busy entertaining relatives who came at the engagement party. Raka went to take her family to the station as well as the airport as there were some of her closest relatives living outside the city.
"Kay, you call Arden down" said Aretha.
"Take Brother Davin. I'm lazy."
"What's wrong with you two? Fighting again?" sahut Davin's.
"I don't want to be friends with him anymore. I mean he wants our relationship to end" Kayla said.
"That's it, let me just call Arden" Davin said.
As Davin calls Arden, Aretha pulls Kayla into the back garden of the house. The relationship between the two, seems to go into a complicated stage.
"Kay, what's wrong with you?" ask Aretha.
"I'm upset with him" Kayla replied.
"It's not that Arden is used to being tough on you. The three of us are playmates."
"I know that, but Arden likes to act as he pleases. I'm afraid Steve will misunderstand. I'm tired of Arden's attitude all along. I'm tired of the taunts" said Kayla.
Aretha exhaled slowly. "If that's your will, what can I do? Arden's attitude is sometimes outrageous." Aretha hugged Kayla. "We're back in the kitchen."
Davin just walked into Arden's room where the man was rolling around on the bed hugging a pillow in his arms.
"Hey!" reprimand Davin.
"Just come?" ask Arden.
Davin nodded. "Yes. Mama told you to come down. Lunch is ready."
"You guys go first. I'm lazy."
"Kayla told me." Davin hesitates to express his opinion, but he wants to know Arden's true feelings. "Do you like Kayla?"
"I just feel lost. My brother you have taken, then my enemy too. Kayla also told me to stay away from her."
"I thought you liked Kayla as a lover" Davin said.
"We're just playmates."
Davin. "Honest of your feelings. If you like Kayla, tell her."
"What are you talking about, anyway? I don't have that feeling at all. Kayla's not my type."
Arden bit the inside of his cheek. He is unsure of his own feelings, but Arden feels Kayla was really taken away from him. A man named Steve has become the king in the heart of his childhood friend.
"Find a lover" Davin suggested.
Arden smile. "I found it."
Davin's eyes sparkled. "really? Who?"
"We're just approaching. If the time comes, I will definitely introduce the woman to you."
"Good! Your age is enough to move up the ladder. Come on, let's get down. Papa and Mama are waiting for us to have lunch together" Davin said.
Arden calls Davin. The two came out together from the room, and together went down the stairs to the dining room.
Kayla turned her head when she heard the sound of laughter from Arden. He really did not expect the man could still laugh widely as their relationship ended. In Kayla's heart wondered, had their friendship been ordinary to Arden? Kayla averted her eyes, it was also good that Arden's attitude was indifferent.
"Om hearing Kayla is going to work at your place, Ar," Dean said.
"Looks. Arden doesn't know. Papa takes care of it."
"Yes, De. Kayla will work at my place" said Kevin.
"Goodoo. Kayla will move in with Steve after marriage. Raka is already careless because he must be separated from the child alone wayangnya."
Arden was silent. This time, Kayla was about to move, turn over or whatever it was, Arden didn't care. They both became strangers.
