Arden Disappointed

Arden was half an hour late from the allotted time. Lauren put on a sullen look when she saw footsteps approaching the table she was on.

Lauren got up from her chair, stretching out her arms to be able to embrace her playmates. However, Arden did not hug, but gave the gift he brought.

"For you. Come on, sit down" Arden asked, then just sit down.

"New bag. Thank you" said Lauren, "this time you're forgiven for coming late."

Arden smile. "I must calm the female cat at home. Sorry about that. I've brought you a gift you like."

Lauren is back to see the gift Arden gave her. He was happy because the bag was the latest model. Lauren can afford to buy, but will drain her wallet too deeply.

"Women are the same. My sister is also very happy to collect bags," said Arden. "Have you ordered something to eat?"

"I ordered your favorite food. It'll be here soon" Lauren said.

Both are moving faster. The waiter came with food and arranged it at the table.

"We eat first, Ar," said Lauren.

"Don't listen to Mom and Dad. They were just kidding, ", said Arden.

"It's okay" Lauren replied.

They both ate first. Arden always looked at his phone while bribing rice into his mouth. He called the waiter, ordered food to be packed and asked for a payment note.

"It looks like you're in a hurry" Lauren said.

"Yes, I have to go home at nine o'clock."

"Are you going to be punished if you come home late?" Lauren couldn't help but laugh.

Arden laughed too. "You're right, Lauren. He'll be mad at me. My lover will be angry."

"What?" Lauren felt her hearing was problematic. "Try saying it again."

"Yes, my girlfriend will be angry. I already have a boyfriend. Not a girlfriend, but a future wife" Arden said with a glowing face.

"I agreed to hide our relationship. It was just to surprise them because my future wife is Kayla. He's the son of my parents' best friend" Arden said.

Lauren's face turned serious. "Kaila?"

Arden nodded. "You met him in clubs and apartments. Kayla's my enemy."

"They broke up. I really didn't think we met on the boat on vacation."

Arden took out a few pieces of money and put them on the table as payment for their dinner. He got out of his chair without waiting for the food he ordered for Kayla.

Lauren held her hand. "I'm sorry. But I'm glad I've expressed my feelings for you."

"Your feelings are insincere, Lauren. Really, if you only consider me a friend, then I will consider you a friend. The woman I'm familiar with besides Kayla."

"The fact is men and women can't be friends."

Arden thought Lauren would be different from the girl he's been with. At first I thought of friends. After being given attention, the girls wanted to have it. Lauren is the same as them.
