Students From Whiteroom
The Less Analytical

I hurriedly stepped down the sidewalk of the city. Cloudy clouds suddenly enveloped the sky and blocked the moonlight.

The darkness of the night tormented my sight. Luckily, there are street lights that provide little light for pedestrians like me. However, due to its distance, there are some dark areas.

This is my trip to Virga's dormitory.

In the dark, I accidentally bumped into someone. He was a man with a thin posture in his 30s. He dropped something on the ground.

Since it was my fault, I spontaneously picked up the item. It was a heart-shaped piece of glass jewelry with a bright red color.

"It's so pretty."

I accidentally muttered like that. It was really very beautiful with its alluring brilliance. Luckily, the thing did not break. I handed the jewelry to him.

"Please, I'm sorry." I bow my head.

Really, I'm sorry.

The man smiled warmly.

"No problem. I'm going to give this to my wife. So I'm grateful that this thing isn't broken."

After saying this, the man rushed away and disappeared behind the darkness of the night.

After showing my permission, I was finally allowed to pass through the school gate. Right, I'm at school now. The place I'm headed to is an ice cream parlor.

"Actually, I doubt Maya is here."

Someone was muttering behind me. He looked back and forth as if he was watching something.

"At any rate, it's better for me to act and know the truth than to do nothing and regret later."

Right, that's how I feel after what I've been doing up until now. Unexpected things may happen in the future.

That's why I decided to make preparations to deal with it.

He clapped. "Awe-inspiring words."

This guy can't seem to be quiet. So I decided not to respond.

The night is getting late.

The dim light from the lights in the corridor added a sinister and haunted impression. The clang of the clock that rang from the main building made Brother Virga surprised.

"Aria, let's get out of here."

I was astonished by his attitude of wanting to leave here immediately.

"Sister Vir, don't you be afraid?"

Finally the question came out of my mouth.

"Te..of course not."

He shook his waist in a bold manner, though I doubted his words.

Suddenly the lights in the corridor went out simultaneously. For a moment it became pitch black. Someone hugged my arm tightly.

"Sister Virga, I told you you didn't have to come."

"I'm not afraid."

Come on, because he was trying to come along, I let him go and continued my steps.

When the lights came back on, I had reached the front of the ice cream parlor next to the cafeteria. There's no one here.

I thought, there might be some kind of clue left by that girl here.

Brother Virga silently stared at me pacing around. His face was as pale as paper. Never mind that he was actually holding back his fear. I feel guilty. However, for now I have to focus on my original goal. Discovering the existence of Maya.

Brother Virga seems to be able to know the contents of my mind at the moment. That's why he said something.

"Aria, are you sure Maya left a clue here? Regardless of the conclusion you made, I don't think he's likely to leave a clue for you in a public place like this. Because those clues can be found by someone else."

After listening to Brother Virga's words, I hesitated at my own conclusion. The words of Virga make sense. If Maya did leave a clue here, there's a chance someone else might find and retrieve it, and of course the clue would never reach me. I'm sure Maya wasn't that careless. So, my conclusion is wrong.

Linger here is of no use. When I took Brother Virga home, he immediately agreed to it and pulled me away.

I thought coming here tonight wasn't entirely in vain. At least I finally found out about Virga's weakness. With a smile, I hid my evil laughter within my deepest heart.

* * *

I re-evaluated the clues I found from Maya's poetry. Ice cream, or rather is the place where ice cream sellers. It was the meeting place that Maya had determined. I am sure of my conclusion. It's just, it seems like I still lack clues.

What is less than my conclusion?

While thinking about it, I walked to the cafeteria to meet Brother Virga and Amelia and Asuna.

I want to know the progress of the Class Alliance. That's why we've made an appointment to meet during the break. Believe it or not, I am the one who formed the alliance from behind the scenes.

Thinking about it made me a little happy because for the first time I was behind the scenes. I felt a hint of haughty nature begin to grow in my mind.

This may be a form of satisfaction. All this time, I was the one who always danced in the palm of someone's hand. The person I meant was of course the girl.

Before entering the cafeteria, I looked towards the ice cream shop in the hope that Maya would be there. However, it was just a hollow hope. The place is the same as always. Nothing makes him special.

I also met my friends who were waiting for me.

"Hey you're a commoner. Finally came you."

A girl with a waistline has welcomed me. Can this commoner get a warm welcome with a sweet smile from the two girls here?

That's what I'm thinking right now. Next to Asuna was a worried-looking girl sitting down.

"What's Aria? you look moody."

It wasn't me who answered Amelia's question, but it was Virga's sister who answered her immediately.

"Fufu~. Actually, we went to school last night. You know, Aria was terrified when the lights went off. Lucky I was with him."

He patted his chest proudly. However, hey, didn't he twist the facts.

"I thought so."

"You're cool Virga. You are like a prince."

When I saw Amelia and Asuna's sparkling eyes, I was sure defending myself was useless. My defense will not be trusted by them. I can feel their admiration for Brother Virga so great. They were fanatical about him.

I could only sigh and sit beside Brother Virga.

"So, how's the Alliance progressing?"

I asked that.

Amelia opened her notebook. "Our plan has gone well. The entire third and first class have joined our Alliance. All that's left is 2B and 2C."

Brother Virga who had looked proud, suddenly changed his expression. "So the rest of 2nd grade yeah."

That's what he's muttering. He looks worried.

"What's wrong?"

Amelia also seemed to realize something was wrong with Virga.

She shook her head. "none. I just have a bad feeling about this."

It seems there is something she is hiding. This is just a guess without evidence. However, I also felt a bad feeling that was about to happen in the future. Perhaps, what I am currently worried about is the same as what he was worried about

What am I worried about now?
