The chaptet 18

A group of robbers came out from behind a bush with various sharp objects in their grasp. Delphy and Frost stood on their backs, watching every robber who surrounded them.

Only Delphy's horse remains. The white horse, named Snow by the owner, was trained in danger.

Frost raised his sword. "You better get out of the way now before you're sorry."

"Give me all your precious possessions." One of the pirates with a large body retorted in a threatening tone.

Delphy looked around, about ten robbers in sight. He could not confirm how many robbers were still in hiding.

A desperate plan flashed through Delphy's mind. It took a square without Frost knowing. His feet began to move stronger. Until he quickly picked up Frost's bag which was located quite far out of reach.

Not only was Frost surprised by Delphy's actions, the robbers who were also surprised immediately moved to attack them. But Delphy had suspected this, he immediately hit the robber who was nearby, injuring the robber's wrist so he could not hold the gun anymore.

Up to six robbers attacked him simultaneously, Delphy immediately threw his dagger at one of them.

The dagger stuck right in the forearm of the robber until he could no longer hold his gun, his feet immediately kicked an axe held by other robbers. On the other hand with a blade of Frost could actually defeat them easily, only he refrained from killing.

Delphy continued to dodge and attack with his bare hands, but of course it was not enough to bring down the robbers. Delphy also realized if the punch or kick was not strong enough to become an empty-handed fighter.

"STOP OR I KILL HIM!!!!!" Frost suddenly shouted while putting a sword on one of the robbers.

The robber looked terrified as he ordered his friend to stop and leave. Immediately the robbers stopped attacking and just ran away.

The remaining one of the robbers is now in Frost's hands, making him a prisoner. Delphy and Frost stood in front of the robber who was now in a condition of bondage.

"Attacking before night? Your history is over if the city's security guards see this." Delphy said while crossing.

"We have no other choice, summer is getting longer than usual, quite a lot of crops are failing added the foolish Princess who rules now instead raises taxes." The robber replied in a resigned tone.

Hearing that, Delphy was quite surprised. He asked why Crystal had ruled, but she was still the Crown Princess. What about his father, why he did not prevent Crystal from regulations that are very detrimental to the people when since his father always prioritizes the welfare of the people of Whittaker no matter what the conditions.

Delphy fell silent, saying nothing. For a moment he ignored the surroundings again until Frost patted his shoulder awakening from a brief daydream.

Without a second thought they immediately took off the robbers just like that then cleaned up their goods and went on a journey.

Unfortunately, their horse is now one. The journey is still quite far, it would be very tiring for the white horse if they had to ride the two of them simultaneously. There was no choice but to walk while leading the horse and ride it in the middle of the night to avoid danger.

Throughout the trip Delphy did not speak anything, he only fell silent with a worried face that was clearly visible. Frost offered a loaf of bread he had bought as supplies while still around the inn.

"Eat even though your mind is still in a state of turmoil."

Delphy shook his head, but bread was his favorite food that he could never refuse.

Frost sighed, "The journey is still far away, at least you can eat while daydreaming."

Delphy refused, he was really not interested in eating at all. He just wanted to know the situation in the Palace now. If you can't stop Crystal, then what about her brother, why doesn't anyone stop Crystal.

"All the things around me. My father, the Queen, Crystal, my brother's sister, the Palace, the Kingdom." The tones of worry mixed with sadness and panic sounded clear.

Frost pulled Delphy into his arms, trying to calm down. "No matter what, no matter what the current conditions are, I'm sure you can handle it."

After that Frost let Delphy ride his horse as they continued their journey slowly. Delphy still did not say much, he was still dissolved in his own mind but now he daydreamed while eating bread slowly.

"Uncle, is the bread just this?"

The store owner handed a tray containing the new bread and lifted from the toaster. "It's the last grill, after that I'll close the shop."

"I want five freshly finished roasts."

"Ready!!" The shopkeeper immediately wrapped five loaves of bread. "Totally ten golden."

Delphy accepted the bread, "Frost why just shut up? You know I don't have money."

The shop owner laughed. Frost shook his head in astonishment as he gave the shop owner some gold pieces.

"Oh yes uncle, I heard that after conquering the Kingdom of Varsha, King Whittaker does not fully hold the authority anymore. What happened to the king?"

Delphy's question astonished Frost, he thought Delphy could forget his problem for a moment until he could smile at the bread.

"Yeahhh, that's it. From rumors circulating the King is seriously ill and some even say the King is actually dead but not announced to secure the position of Crown Princess." The shopkeeper paused his explanation, "As we know, the Crown Princess is not too expected to be a successor, the people prefer Prince Colden. Especially now that the Kingdom is getting messed up by the new rules."

"New rules?" Delphy asked in a curious tone, "ah sorry I just got back from traveling."

"so yeah... The new rules were made about five months ago. Taxes became higher besides that the residents of Ash Shaif Kingdom were free to trade here, even many of them occupied the capital."

Delphy's chest was claustrophobic to hear it. How could things have gone awry in just six months since Delphy left. Ash Shaif Kingdom, since long ago Delphy always pay more attention to the Kingdom, he always be careful in every relationship with Ash Shaif Kingdom.

Now even the Ash Shaif Kingdom was acting arbitrarily in the Whittaker Kingdom. Undeniably, Delphy wants to meet his family at this time. What they did until this happened.
