Stiff Corpse

Stiff Corpse
Tragedies

As the three of us were busy discussing, our gaze was sidetracked by the screams of an old woman from the top of the doctor's room window. A moment later the old woman plunged down, and her head was crushed to the ground of the puskesmas field. Our gaze all then led back to the window, looking at who was the one who pushed Bu Kades to the drop. The man did not. the corpse showed itself while shouting loudly, making a look at the feathers. Mas Joko is up! His right hand held a heart full of blood, then swallowed it raw in front of us.

The whole community and the police looked in shock, especially Mr. Kades. He immediately ran to his wife who had now lost her life. But just a few steps Mr. Kades ran, suddenly heard a loud gunshot.

My heart stopped when I saw Mr. Kades fall in front of me. The backhead was blown out instantly through the hot lead that shot out from behind me. When I and the old Shaman looked back, how surprised we were. Mr. Hendra - whose body I put last night in a police ambulance - stood in front of me holding his gun, which I had lost last night. How could I forget... Mr. Hendra and Mas Joko are also residents of this village...

Mr. Hendra's body then shot again. The second bullet penetrated right in the heart of the shaman. He fell to the ground while bleeding a lot of blood. I could only watch the people around me die one by one, just like last night.

The shot was then aimed at me. I am sure that, for the umpteenth time in this day, my life is back on the edge. But some police and residents responded immediately. They quickly held the hand of Mr. Hendra's corpse, turned the gun up, and made the third shot throw into the sky.

A commotion ensued, several citizens and police ran around. The body of Mr. Hendra continued to thrash, trying to escape the ambush of three policemen whose bodies were even larger than his. Her warm face was now turning violent and horrible due to the black eyes.

I was silent, not flinching a bit. Either because of the pain that came back piercing through my nerves or because of extreme fear like that night, which made me only able to see the chaos before me.

One of the policemen managed to drop Mr. Hendra's gun on the ground. But his efforts had to be paid with a raw blow right in his face. Instantly the policeman fell down. Mr. Hendra's body then elbowed two other police officers to bounce. I can say how strong Mr. Hendra is when he becomes a corpse. Cadaveric spasm also happens to her.

The gun fell right in front of me, and of course, the corpse tried to retrieve it. He shouted loudly like a wild animal about to pounce on his prey, my heart rippled unruffled. But the police did not give up, although battered they again rose and wrestled with the corpse of Mr. Hendra. That's when I used it by picking up that gun. This time I bravely pulled the gun and shot Mr. Hendra's body. Two-three times the right lucky shot hit the face. The corpse instantly collapsed, and wriggled in pain.

The police then responded by locking the body of Mr. Hendra's body. The body had trouble getting up when several other policemen finally approached to help. One of the – policemen holding Mr. Hendra's body suddenly shouted at me, but I couldn't hear it. The loud screams of the citizens running around blocked my hearing. Plus the sound of gunpowder eruption from the gun I fired just now made my ears still ringing. The policeman kept shouting at me, moving his hand right and left. I frowned confused, but we were so close, but I could not hear what he was shouting.

A moment later my gaze at the policeman was covered by a shadow of a hand. My vision darkened instantly and my body fell down. Unbeknownst to me, the corpse of Mas Joko –after jumping down from the window of the doctor's room was already behind me and slapped a loud slap right in my right ear. My ears were ringing, It hurt so much before I lost consciousness.

..............................................................................

I woke up again with severe head pain and ears still ringing. Fainting for the second time in a day, shit. I don't remember what happened after that. Somehow I could, but I survived again, for the umpteenth time. For sure I'm now in bed ER. The wound on my left hand and the bruise on my shoulder no longer hurt. But my right ear was dripping blood. Goddamn it, Joko's punch is so hard. He must have hated me so much –because I used to snap at him - even when he was a corpse.

It was late in the afternoon, I could see it from the window. Then I peeked around, how the fate of the people and the bodies. Outside I saw more police cars parked with sirens on. Seen some police and a lot of people passing by stretcher many body bags. One, three... How many victims this afternoon?

Suddenly one of the body bags fell and squirmed. I could see the hands of the dead body trying to get out of the bag. The old hand was seen wearing a gold necklace, it was the corpse of Bu Kades! The policemen panicked, they pulled out their pistols and started shooting at the bag. Blood came out, seeping in the sac that eventually perforated it. I got up and ran out.

"Wait on!! Stop sir!!" My screams.

"STOP!!!"

All those cops stopped shooting him and looked at me. So are the residents who are busy carrying several body bags, they are all shocked to see me coming out of the puskesmas with battered conditions.

"Doctor Sultan!"

From ignorance I saw Doctor Denny and Mr. Badrun coming to greet me. The two of them directly carried me who was still staggered. Then I started to babble while crying.

The two of them just say yes to me, they don't understand it. But I am grateful, some police and people who wear government service – who dariitadi followed Doctor Denny and Mr. Hendra- understood me. I asked them all to stop shooting at the bodies.

"Please sir, these bodies are all collected..." I said with certainty.

"Relax doc... everything is in order. later we take care of" said an old policeman wearing a full-length uniform. The old policeman greeted me, then introduced himself as the district police chief.

I shook his hand with regret. I can't save Mr. Hendra, I feel so guilty. The father smiled warmly at me, as if he were concerned about what had happened to us last night.

"No sir... What do you want to take care of? Soon these bodies will rise up" I said, looking at the body of Ms. Kades, who started wriggling out of her pocket.

Some residents were seen trying to stop the body of the old woman, who was full of gunshots all over her body, it was. Because the "rising" phase is not full or in other words stiff the body is not yet full, residents then managed to put it back in the body bag and tie it.

"Mother can see for himself, right?"

The policeman, Mr. Badrun, and Doctor Denny were standing in line. Some people wearing government service clothes seemed to be chatting with each other while looking at the four of us.

The police chief looked nervous to see the men in service clothes watching us "Lantas... Doctor Sultan has an idea?" he said a little scared.

"There sir! trust me..."
