Devil's Pool - Australia

Over the past 60 years, no less than fifteen people have been reported to have died in the Devil's Pool or Demonic Pool in Australia.

Legend has it that forbidden love is the cause. The story begins with a young woman from the Yidinji Tribe named Oolana married to an esteemed elder from her tribe, Waroonoo.

A few months after officially becoming the wife of people, Oolana actually fell in love with a man named Dyga from a neighboring tribe. Their dark relationship was revealed by their husband. Oolana and Dyga escape into the valley, Waroonoo and his troops chase.

However, the legend does not tell what happened to the two. Oolana is said to disappear between large rocks and rushing water currents.

Now, there are warning signs posted on the lake to keep visitors away. Tourists who ignore this rule are said to hear the whimpering Oolana cry calling her forbidden lover.
