Faced with difficult choices

Arion suddenly riled. The reason, he just got a call from Daniel who told him to come to the office immediately, because the General Meeting of Shareholders will be held in half an hour.

"What else is this?" arion's inner confusion. How not! This meeting is always held regularly every six months. And they just held it two months ago. Indeed, sometimes there are situations that require shareholders to hold an impromptu meeting. But as CEO, he must always be told first.

Arion scrunched his forehead which started to hurt. For some reason, his feelings this time were really bad. In fact, he just had a plan to disappear for a few days from the office, in order to calm down.

"Ei, the office's fine, right?" arion asked Aiden who was sitting next to Lucas, his personal driver.

"Good, Sir. There's nothing to worry about." Answer Aiden sure. He himself was actually astonished by this. Various kinds of speculation began to appear filling the man's head.

"Lantas, why are the parents holding a meeting without prior notice?" Arion ruffled his hair rough.

Aiden. He did not dare to express his speculation so as not to further burden Arion. The man just hoped, that his guess was wrong.

The Arion luxury sedan then entered the main building of the Umbara Corporation. Without waiting for Lucas and Aiden, Arion rushes down from the car and goes to the meeting room located on the 28th floor. The man was a little surprised, when he found all the members of the meeting present there, including Erlina. Although the shares given by the late Dewandaru have not officially fallen into his hands, the woman is often asked to attend meetings by her clubs.

Arion bowed before the shareholders, who were on average 50 years old and above. After being invited to sit down, without further ado he immediately opened his voice. "What is the urgent matter that requires this impromptu meeting to be held, without prior notice?"

From the beginning of his arrival, Arion realized that the atmosphere in the room felt very thick and unfriendly.

A man in his 60s, named Charles, responds coldly to Arion's questions. "We did not intentionally inform you, because this meeting was held to discuss the problems that are happening in this office."

Arion frowned. "The problem? What problems? I know the office is fine." Arion glanced at Daniel who was sitting on the other side of the table. His cousin sister simply returned Arion's glance with a pity.

The shareholders present there cleared their throat and exchanged pricks. One of them then invited Erlina to speak.

Arion prevented that. Erlina has no right to speak here. The woman has not officially received inheritance rights from her father. Therefore, his presence in this room was nothing more than a spectator.

"We asked Mrs Erlina to speak, because she is your First Lady" Charles said.

"What does this have to do with the meeting?" Arion squealed cynically towards Erlina, who was now looking at her softly.

Arion refrained from sneering. The woman was apparently playing the role of an angel-hearted stepmother.

"A really bad act!" inner Arion.

Erlina stood up from the seat and bowed respectfully. "Thank you for your honorable Father and Mother's willingness,"

The woman then looked at Arion affectionately. "Son, Mama has heard about the ugly rumors that spread throughout the Umbara Corporation."

"What rumors?" ask Arion. Aiden, who was standing behind Arion, stared at Erlina coldly.

"About you and one of the office girls named Sekar," Erlina replied with a sad look.

Arion's heart was beating in vain. Actually, he had guessed this before. But Arion hastily brushed it off, as the rumors had absolutely nothing to do with the meeting.

Arion's words were interrupted, when Erlina suddenly shed tears. "Mama knows, you're a nice guy who always keeps the Umbara surname. So, Mama tried to ignore the news that came. But it seems, what you hear is not a figment of the thumb, when some of the evidence that you can point to the truth."

"Huh?" hearing Erlina's words, Arion's head was suddenly empty.

One of the other members of the meeting calmed Erlina down, and allowed the woman to sit back.

"See this." Charles told his personal assistant to show photos of the two of them together in the office, or outside the office to all meeting members who were present there.

Suddenly, the atmosphere in the room was also harsh. They condemned the actions of Arion who had tarnished Umbara's good name.

"Having a scandal with a lowly employee can make your reputation as a CEO fall, young man!" shouted one of the higher-ups.

"As a leader, you must have standards when choosing a companion. Can't be arbitrary. What else we heard, this woman is just an Junior High!" hearing this, several pairs of eyes looked surprised.

"How dare he seduce his boss! Sure enough, he was only after his treasure!"

Arion's heart suddenly warmed. They insulted Sekar. The man was about to stand up from his chair, but Aiden swiftly held the boss' shoulder. In any case, they have the authority to lift or take down anyone, including Arion.

Arion tries to control his emotions. "Lantas, what do you want?" asked the man with a calm face. He refused to dispute or justify the photos that were either obtained from whom.

"Fired the girl, or you're forced to step down from your position now!" exclaimed one of the higher-ups who immediately approved all the members present.

Arion widened his eyes. I need this job. If he is fired, then his family life will go back to deteriorating as it used to be. However, Arion also did not want to get down from his current position. He did not want, if the company built with sweat and tears by the late father until it fell into the hands of the wrong person. What else, if that person was on Erlina's side.

"I don't want to choose one. I'm planning on moving the girl somewhere else." It seems, Arion inevitably has to agree to Sekar's request, in order to save them both.

"Select one, or we'll do both at once. It looks like it would be great if we could choose a new CEO who doesn't have a cheap scandal!" Charles's. "We'll give you a week to think about this." The middle-aged man then stood up and left the room, as well as the others.

Arion supported her body on the table with her hands resting on her.

Erlina came over to her stepson, then whispered softly, "what's it like to be in a difficult position? This is how I felt when you kicked me out of the house, my beloved son." The woman gave a small laugh as it passed from before Arion.

Arion clenched both his hands. A second later, the man smashed into the table using his fist.

"Sir, your hands have not healed properly!" Aiden held Arion's hand that was about to hit back. Arion brushed aside and chased Aiden away with harsh words. Aiden flinching. Not a step away from there.

As if exhausted, Arion dropped himself on the floor. Daniel, who had not yet moved from his chair, came to the younger brother.

"Rion," call Daniel softly. When Arion lifted his head, Daniel knew that his brother was fragile.

"What am I supposed to do?" inner Daniel.
