Arion and Aiden arrive at one of their subscription modest restaurants, located not far from the Office.
"Eh, Nak Arion and Nak Aiden," said Ms. Saroh, the owner of the 60-year-old restaurant.
"It's lonely, Mom?" ask Arion. His eyes looked around the place that was usually crowded by the visitors.
"Today I didn't cook much. Fortunately, I have prepared your food, you are afraid to have lunch here," said Ms Saroh in a hoarse voice. "As usual, right?" keep the woman.
Arion nodded then chose to sit at one of the tables that were right in the corner of the room.
This restaurant has been around for almost 25 years. Arion knew this place from Dewandaru, the father. He was a loyal customer of Bu Saroh during his life, until finally he replaced the custom of his father.
Almost every day Arion will take the time to eat lunch directly there. But if he can not leave his job, then Jaka, Bu Saroh's grandson will be happy to deliver Arion's order to the office which is not up to 10 minutes away.
Two rice rames with two glasses of warm tea water served Bu Saroh for Arion and Aiden.
"Thank you, ma'am," said Arion kindly, followed by Aiden.
Ms. Saroh patted Arion's shoulders gently. Just as the woman was about to go back, another customer entered the restaurant. He sat right in front of Arion, with his back to him. The customer seemed very troubled to arrange the two large suitcases that he brought.
Arion turned his head, his eyes looking at the appearance of the stranger. Looks like that guy's a little familiar.
"He, that girl?" inner Arion guessing.
Ms. Saroh approached Sekar and asked, "want to eat what, son? But sorry, the side dish is a little. I didn't cook much today."
"It's okay, Mom, it's all right." Answer Sekar. Bu Saroh nodded then immediately made food for Sekar.
It did not take long, Ms. Saroh served a plate of rames rice with a simple side dish for Sekar.
"Thank you, ma'am," said Sekar.
"Together." Ms. Saroh smiled kindly. The woman turned to stare at the bunch of luggage Sekar. He was intrigued to ask directly, "where are you going, son?"
"Ahh, I just came from the village for a job interview, Mom," said Sekar.
"Oh. Where's where?" ask Ms. Saroh again.
"Take it, Mom, close to here." Hearing Sekar's reply, Arion and Aiden turned their eyes away for a moment.
"Oh, I know. Continue how? Accepted?" Ms. Saroh sounded enthusiastic. His eyes glanced slightly towards Arion and Aiden.
"Alhamdulillah, accepted. Tomorrow we start work. Now I'm heading to the place of indecos." The look on Sekar's face changed.
"Alhamdulillah. Hope you're at home, son? Jakarta is hard, you have to be mentally as strong as steel." Bu Saroh patted Sekar's shoulder.
"Thank you, ma'am," said Sekar.
"Yes, I interrupted your meal. Tell me if you need anything," said Ms. Saroh before leaving Sekar.
...***...
THE DUGH!
Sekar stopped his eating activities, when one of the suitcases he had placed not far from his seat, fell from its original position. Aiden, the man who hit the suitcase apologized and helped set up the suitcase.
"Once again I'm sorry, miss," said Aiden, full of regret.
"It's okay, really, it's okay." Just a little laugh.
"Thank you" Aiden bowed his body and went by with a man who had already left the restaurant.
"Sopan and stiff. Are all rich people like that?" inner Sekar's.
...***...
His black Netra was astonished at a three-story elongated building. Each floor consists of ten doors with a courtyard that can accommodate the vehicles of the residents of the boarding house.
Sekar immediately pressed the bell attached to the fence. Before long, a middle-aged man came out from inside the boarding building.
"Excuse me sir, is there anything empty?" ask Sekar politely.
"Would you mind, Neng? Let's look around first," the guard said.
"I'm Dirman, the keeper of this boarding house. Who is his name and where?" ask Mr. Dirman once Sekar has gone inside.
"I'm Now, Sir. I just came from the village to work." Answer Sekar.
"Oh, wander. Where do you work, Neng?"
"Take, sir." Hearing Sekar's reply, Mr. Dirman immediately nodded his head.
"There are also some who work there, Neng. Name's Lastri. She's the security woman in that office."
"Oh," let out a small laugh. He thought the friend Ali meant was a man, considering their job was security.
Mr. Dirman took Sekar up to the second floor of the building. The middle-aged man opened the room numbered 201 which was located right next to the stairs. "Lastri's room is next to this, Neng," said Mr. Dirman. He immediately invited Sekar to look inside.
He poked his head into the room. He immediately found a wooden mattress located right in the corner of the room, to the left of the door. Facing the mattress, there was a table with a medium-sized flat television on it, while beside the television stood a one-door closet.
The bathroom is located right behind it, next to the dishwasher and the cook. There is already a single stove with gas.
Although small, the room looks comfortable and clean. Sekar liked it very much.
"The idea is quite complete, only personal needs are left. For drinking water, Neng can cook. But most residents here prefer to buy outside." Mr. Dirman speaks. "While the electricity is a voucher. Neng can buy himself at the minimarket or tipped to the father," continued the middle-aged man.
Just nod in understanding. They talked about the rental price.
Sekar handed over some money to Mr. Dirman for rent for the next month. "I accept yes, Neng," said Mr. Dirman. "The question is below. I'll make it later. Here's the key there's three pieces, two for the room and one for the fence, afraid to go home overtime." Mr. Dirman handed the key to Sekar.
"Thank you, sir," said Sekar.
"Sama-sama Neng's. Hopefully hard to stay here," said Mr. Dirman while resigned.
After Mr. Dirman left, Sekar then locked the room door and lay on the mattress. "Gee! I can finally sleep!" pekik.
The girl stared at the small clock that was on the television table. "Let's have lunch, take a short break and I'll take a shower and get some food." He said, closing his eyes.
"Eh–" Now open his eyes again when he remembers Dino's gift that he has not opened. Soon the girl unpacked her suitcase and searched for it.
"This is what, anyway?" he murmured while flipping things that were more like the package, because it was coated with some black plastic and strong duct tape.
He picked up the little scissors he was carrying and opened them slowly.
How surprised the girl when she found an old model phone neatly stored in a milk box.
A piece of paper sticking out along with the phone.
Don't resist! I'm giving you this to make it easier for you to contact Mbah and Bude. This phone is not a new phone, but it is still worth using. I hope you use it well.
Remember, do not get lost or damaged!
Be careful there. Call me right away if there's anything.
The girl's eyes were glazed. Dino has always been there for Sekar. The man had also long placed feelings for her.
Several times Dino invited Sekar into a serious relationship, but Sekar always refused. He only considers Dino as his older brother. Dino is the son of a distinguished family in their village. That's why Sekar always rejects Dino's feelings. After all, the Dino family also disagreed with him because their social status was very much different.
"Thank you, Mas" Sekar Pilu. Again he had to rely on Dino.
