Overnight with me

Mas Darwin's car passed quickly to the hospital. However, not yet getting to the hospital I realized from my fainting. Darwin immediately pulled his car to the side of the road.

"Are you okay, Rania?" Mas Darwin's voice sounded so anxious. "What do you feel?"

I just kept quiet and then Darwin asked me again, "Does your stomach hurt?"

I'm shaking. He then looked at my feet, trying to find out if there was any fluid running down my legs. He was afraid I was bleeding or my water broke.

"I'm fine" I said later. He looked at me, long enough. Then, suddenly I don't know why he hugged me.

I was quite surprised. I wanted to reject it, but my body was still limp. I'm not powered yet. So, I finally let Mas Darwin hug me.

I almost got swept up in the feeling of happiness when I got such treatment from Mas Darwin. But then I realized. In my heart I said, 'Don't get carried away, Rania! Your husband hugged you not because he loved you. But, it was only because he was worried about his son. He doesn't want you, he just misses his son.'

Then, Mas Darwin took off his embrace. Then, he said, "Are you sure you're okay? Do we need to go to the hospital first to check on your condition?"

I'm shaking. "I feel fine" I said.

"Well, we're going home now" said Mas Darwin, putting his car in his teeth, and I was wide-eyed. I immediately said, "Mas, I don't want to go home. I want us to separate. I want a divorce."

"No, Rania," he said. He's already running his car.

"Mas, stop the car! Put me down here! I want to get off. I don't want to go home. I want us to separate."

Darwin just kept quiet and kept driving his car non-stop. He entered the toll gate and drove towards Indralaya. I cried all the way. I don't want to go back to being her doll wife. Confined in Kayuagung, living the days of being an unexpected wife.

"No." I'm insisting.

Darwin immediately approached me, wanting to take my wallet. I took a few steps back until I realized that my back body had finally hit the wall. I couldn't back down and Mas Darwin was standing in front of me so close, just one inch from me.

He put both his hands on the wall, making me unable to walk away. I was caught between his two big arms. Then, he lowered his right hand and checked my skirt pocket. I couldn't get a wiggle, he took my wallet out of my pocket and threw it at the table.

Then, the ringing of the phone finally made Mas Darwin remove his kiss. "Alya," he murmured.

"Darling, where are you? Why not go home yet? Usually we get home" said Alya.

"I'm in my house. Rania is here. We just got to Palembang. It turned out that he disappeared into Palembang" explained Mas Darwin while taking my wallet on the table and putting it in his pants pocket.

"So, did you go to Palembang?" muttered Alya. "It's not usual that you don't tell me to go to Palembang, honey."

"So I was in a hurry, honey," said Mas Darwin. "I'm sorry."

Alya fell silent. She realized her husband was starting to change. Darwin often did not open up to him. Then, Mas Darwin continued his remark, "Darling I can't go home today."

"Why?" ask Alya immediately.

"I have to make sure that Rania doesn't run away again. At first I wanted to take him to Kayuagung. But, there's a file I need to submit tonight. After finishing my work, I will take Rania tomorrow at dawn to Kayuagung and then immediately return to Indralaya."

"Why don't you just do your job in this house, honey?" Alya asked back.

"I can't leave him alone. He's gonna run away again. I couldn't have gone back there with him either. How will your mother feel later. So tonight I'm staying here first. I'll see you tomorrow morning."

Alya was silent. In his true heart, he was not willing to let Mas Darwin spend the night with me. But he cannot ban Darwin. He just kept quiet until he hung up the phone.

After that, Mas Darwin handed me my phone. "Call mom! He asked you earlier. I didn't say you ran away. Mom doesn't know anything. He just knows our relationship is fine" said Mas Darwin.

I took the phone and immediately went into the room. I haven't called Mom yet. I'll call Nelly right away. I'm pretty sure Nelly told Mas Darwin I worked at the diner so he could find me.

"Rania, where are you now? Are you all right?" said Nelly.

"No need for pleasantries, Nelly. You have it," I said. "You're the one who called Mas Darwin and told me where I was."

"I didn't call Mas Darwin, Rania. Really," said Nelly.

"Lied," I said.

"Nelly's not lying." Suddenly, the voice of Darwin was heard in the doorway. He came in and said, "He didn't call me. I'm looking for you in your old contract, asking Aunt Ros where you used to work. There I met Nelly. I asked him to tell you where. Nelly won't tell. I forced her until she finally told me the address of the diner you worked at."

"Nelly didn't contact me" said Mas Darwin.

I was upset and immediately ended my phone call to Nelly. No one is on my side anymore. All of them are on Darwin's side. In fact, a friend who was like my own brother was more on the side of Mas Darwin. 'Why doesn't anyone think about my feelings? Why?' my inner. 'How else can I escape from Mas Darwin's entanglement?'

I don't feel my tears coming back. Then Darwin said, "Why are you crying again, Rania?"

"Mas, please divorce me! Divorce me! I don't want to be your second wife. I can't," I said.

Darwin came up to me, looking at me like someone who was pitying me. Then, he wiped away the tears in both corners of my eyes. But that's not what I expected. I wish he would let me go by divorcing me. I can't take much longer to go through all this heartache. I want to be free.

Then, there were a few knocks on the door. Darwin opened the door and I heard his voice say, "Darling. Why are you here?"
