Nathan's honesty

"Honey, this photo was taken when we finished working on a project together and held a small event to celebrate. I know this photo could cause misunderstandings, but I swear nothing happened between us. He is just a friend, nothing more than that" Nathan said in a pleading tone.

Zara sighed, trying to digest what her husband had just explained. The tears in the corner of her eyes tried to dampen her anger, before she finally decided to give it confidence, one chance. 

"Alright, Mas. I'll believe you, but make sure that nothing like this in the future will ever break our trust" Zara said, staring intently into Nathan's eyes.

Nathan nodded and felt relieved. Mistakes that might bring division have been shunned. 

"Thank you, honey. I promise I won't worry you or be suspicious anymore" Nathan replied as he embraced Zara.

The two return to live a married life, trying to maintain trust in each other while trying to prioritize the mutual happiness that has begun to be swallowed by the busy work outside.

Days changed, and slowly their trust was restored. Zara still has a sense of suspicion in her heart, but she tries hard to fight negative thoughts that often try to eat away at her happiness.

"Darling, I know I was wrong. I should have told you from the beginning. I'm so sorry and don't know how to express it. I'm afraid you'll leave me" Nathan replied wryly.

This was like a storm that blew away their happiness. However, Zara still did not want to give up on the slump. He wants to try to repair a broken relationship, even if the bubble of hope has been eroded by dust.

 "We need to finish this, Mas. We need to consult a marriage counselor and figure out how to improve our communication. I want to forgive you, but we have to work together" Zara said firmly but gently, trying to muster up the courage to move on together.

Nathan wept before Zara, feeling unworthy of the kindness and understanding Zara gave him. 

"Thank you, honey. I promise that from now on, we will lead a better, more honest, and more understanding life. I love you, and I will do anything to right my wrongs" Nathan said.

They then began marriage therapy together. The two begin to learn how to communicate better, convey their feelings and interests openly and honestly. They also learn how to deal with problems in marriage in a more constructive way, as well as find a counterbalance between work and personal life.

Over time, their relationship slowly improved. Nathan swears he will no longer hurt Zara and let go of a slowly disturbing joy.

 Although the pain and betrayal still leave scars in Zara's heart, the two continue to struggle to knit happiness back into their lives. 

Slowly but surely, Zara began to forget the dark events that had made her fall.
