Secret Weddings
Five years later

Five years after that, at Nathan's mansion, the man finally looked at his wife who was now playing with Nevan who was five years old, while Erlan's three-year-old daughter named Alea

Nevan grows up to be a child so intelligent, Zara looks at her husband who is showing her.

"What's wrong?" Zara sat down next to her husband.

"I don't want to add a sister to Nessa, I saw Nessa somehow want to have another daughter, too" Nathan said.

Zara shrugged her shoulders, not that she didn't want to add, but all this time we're not wearing a pregnancy preventer.

Zara sees Naven playing with Nessa.

"Ah, how happy today," Zara murmured with a smile.

"If I could go back in time, I would have chosen to always be here."

Nathan nodded and clasped Zara's hand tightly. "I feel grateful every day to see Nevan and Nessa grow up to be children of love and happiness" Nathan said.

Nevan and Nessa's cheerful laughing voice ended a brief conversation between Nathan and Zara.

They again saw their two children playing happily in the garden behind the mansion.

"Sir.." The faithful servant who had served Nathan's family, "there is one thing I want to say."

Nathan stood up and looked at the middle-aged woman with an attentive facial expression. "What's up, Auntie? What's the problem?"

"There's news from the next town, sir. He said, the population began to suffer from a disease that had never been known before." Aunt spoke with a serious face.

Nathan's forehead wrinkled. "What's the disease, Auntie?"

"I'm not sure, sir. But reportedly, the disease attacked so quickly, and those affected could not be cured. Some people have died of this disease."

Zara, who heard their talk tried to hold back her fear. "What...do we have to worry about this, Mas?"

Nathan looked at his wife with the same feeling. "Let's go, honey, but we can't just let this go. I'll call some expert friends to find out more about this disease."

After getting some information from some experts that Nathan contacted, they found that the disease appeared due to the presence of a previously unknown virus. Very little is known about this virus, and it continues to spread rapidly.

Residents became anxious, and Nathan did his best to keep their mansion safe while also looking for solutions to stop the spread of this virus.

"According to Dr. Willis, a pathologist I just came in contact with, this virus probably comes from a source that has never been encountered before" Nathan told Zara.

"They don't know how to stop it yet, but they're working hard to find the vaccine."

Zara tried to hide the anxiety that was engulfing her heart. "What can we do to help them?"

Nathan sighed. "They ask us to be careful, maintain cleanliness, and avoid contact with people who are already infected. They also asked us to help pass this information on to our neighbors and local townspeople, and to report any infected villagers for immediate isolation."

Zara nodded, nodding. Now he invites his two children to enter because the sky is getting dark.

While in the living room Zara saw Erlan and his wife had just arrived.

"Erlan did you hear about the disease from the next town?" ask Zara.

"That's not a big deal for Zara, the government has made an announcement if it's not true. That person is because of an exaggerated flu" Erlan said.

Zara took a deep breath and exhaled violently.

It was at this time that Zara, an energetic young mother, spoke to her best friend, Carla, who was also her sister-in-law. They have been friends for a long time and are married to brothers.

"Almost I want to call Nessa and Nevan's teachers" Zara said.

"Don't panic too much" said Carla, just coming out of the bathroom holding Alea.

Zara took over Alea, but the boy instantly thrashed and ran to play with his other cousins.

The girl smiled. "Thank you, Carla. I just feel a little worried. You know how hard it is to face those two kids." Zara breathed a long breath. "Especially now, they're getting harder to control."

Carla, who knew well about what Zara was going through, tried to calm her heart. "You don't have to worry about it, Zara. All parents go through this phase, including us. They just need time to find themselves. Besides, we have a solid extended family and will always help each other."

Zara understood the worries her father was feeling. Although he wanted to give Nevan a chance to be with his Grandfather, his fear of neutrality in sleep made Zara hesitant to allow it.

However, Zara also felt the need to build trust and give freedom to her father in spending time with Nevan.

"Honey, I want to give Nevan the opportunity to spend time with Tama's father. However, I was worried about my sleeping habits which were now becoming somewhat disturbed. Is it possible that you can help or give me advice on how to sleep well while Nevan is in Jakarta?" asked Zara to her husband expecting understanding.

Nathan nodded, but his expression seemed full of understanding. "Of course, hon. I fully understand your worries. We can find solutions together. For example, if Nevan wants to be with her dad in Jakarta, we could try to set up some sleep habits that are safer for both of us. Or, if you feel the need, I can take Nevan away only on non-work days or when you feel more relaxed and ready to sleep."

Zara smiled with relief at her husband's suggestion. He felt calmer with the possible solutions offered by him. "Thank you, honey. I'm sure we'll find a way to fit in with our family."

This holiday Nevan will be picked up by Tama for a vacation in Jakarta, early Zara and Nessa want to come, but seeing the condition of mother Dania who is sickly makes the woman undo her intentions.

"So how?" ask Nathan.

"How about Mas just take you to Jakarta, because I feel sorry if Dad goes home," said Zara.

"Let the same opa, because there happens to be cooperation with companies in Surabaya" said Albert.

"Papa sure, I'm afraid that Nevan will interfere with Papa's work later" said Zara.

Albert smiled, he understood his son-in-law's concern because the man was sure what Zara was feeling because only this time it would be far from her son.

***

This morning Albert left. Nevan, that boy is so excited about going to meet his grandfather.

While Zara who delivered to the airport felt tight in her chest.

Nathan rubbed his wife's shoulder, there was only three Weeks of his son in Jakarta. Just a few minutes later, the woman was worried.

the atmosphere of the airport is so crowded. Nevan, a spirited five-year-old, pulls her red suitcase with one hand and grabs the hand of her op, Nevan, with the other. How not enthusiastic? This was the first time he would go to Jakarta to meet his grandfather

Zara, Nevan's beautiful mother, stands a few steps behind her husband, Nathan. Her face looked puzzled as she squeezed the corner of the dress to let it go. As a mother, she tried hard to smile happily for her son who was about to go on a new adventure, but her powerless tongue swallowed all the worries of the heart.

"That's it, baby." Nathan's soft voice rang out in Zara's ears, a warm smile framed up her beard. "It's only been three weeks. Albert's gonna be okay."

From the very beginning Nathan calmed Zara down, repeatedly Nathan considered the concerns Zara expressed to be excessive. As a result, Nathan spent a lot of time tidying up his son's gear before deciding on a just-three-week vacation.

Inwardly, Zara wanted to believe in her husband's promise. But the origins of Nevan's reclusive grandfather can't shake the nervousness that remains churned around Zara's neck.

Being a mother is never easy, of course. They forget to give guidance on how to be relieved whenever the child will go far.

"Good morning, Mr. Nathan" the high-pitched carefree voice of a man smashed into their viewpoint. Nathan's brother Erlan, quickly walked through the hustle and bustle of potential passengers.

"Zara, Nathan," Erlan spoke while immersing his hands in a gray work coat pocket. "Where is this? Ready to take the little guy on an excursion?"

The family smiled at Erlan's comment trying to ease the tension. Nevan smiled enthusiastically, then lifted the fan to the back, speaking, "Om, you know I have to go?"

As soon as Nevan solves the question, Nathan and Zara feel their faces red as they feel young and ridicule Zara. Erlan, in a benevolent way tried to encourage all, winked and shrugged with resignation.

"Ha! It's okay, Honey . Children are full of contradictions. You will definitely miss home while having fun. I make sure they're okay there. Trust in this great.Om!"

Erlan managed to paint a solemn smile on the face with a brief smile.

Erlan watched Nathan and Zara try to feel better with their decision. He said, "Listen, the big bang celebrating Grandpa's 55th Birthday will really surprise you. All relatives will be present. The kids are happy so they can get together and play together."

Zara took a deep breath, trying to reduce her anxiety. "Alright," he said softly, giving Erlan an anxious smile, "Thank you for strengthening us."

Nevan had kissed his mother's cheek while promising to send photos and messages every day before leaving with his grandfather.

Zara held her son tightly in her arms, trying to hold back the tears that threatened to fall.

"The best advice I ever received about being a parent was this," Erlan said before they parted ways.

"Don't worry too much about what should or shouldn't happen. There are no definite rules, we just need to adjust to the situation."

Zara nodded her head. "Thank you, Erlan," he said softly.

"You are a good brother." Nathan patted his sister on the shoulder.

On his way to Jakarta, Nevan unceasingly told him about the grand plan he had made with his grandfather. Nevan, always patient, tries to explain this mysterious holiday planning sequence.

The presence of a new acquaintance helps coordinate the event and soon, their family will arrive at the spacious grandfather's house with lush trees around it.

No doubt, for three weeks, this house will be filled with laughter and fond memories. An unforgettable birthday celebration for the grandfather who is now 55 years old.

Meanwhile, in the town of Nevan leaving Zara, the woman's cheeks are flooded with tears as they return home in the lurch of heavy rain. Nathan picked up his wife's empty bag and spoke in a broken voice, "May Nevan reach Jakarta safely."

Zara tried to answer confidently, "Yes, honey. Don'worry. Three weeks will pass quickly."

That was the beginning of three stressful and exciting weeks in Nevan's life. During that time, he explored Jakarta, got acquainted with a large family he had never met before, and celebrated his grandfather's birthday.

Despite not understanding why, as the host of grandfather's birthday party, Nevan feels a great responsibility rests on his grandfather's shoulders. Old men inevitably carry out the role with passion and try hard so that every plan goes smoothly.

Coincidentally," said Nevan, a new distant relative. "Because Father (grandfather) is the 55th anniversary, we plan to hold a celebration with the whole extended family. He was looking forward to the arrival of his grandson." Erlan patted Nevan's arm and smiled.

In the evening, all the relatives gathered in the large hall of the grandfather's house. Beautiful and colorful decorations adorn the walls and ceiling of the place that is usually used for family events.

In the middle of the room, there is a long table that has a career with a variety of typical Jakarta cuisine, ranging from satay, gado-gado, to nasi uduk.

The birthday celebration begins with a speech from the wise grandfather, congratulations and prayers from the head of the family, as well as gifts and awards. Not to forget, music entertainment, dances and traditional games involving all family members.

Among the party crowd, Nevan gets a chance to get to know the figure of his grandfather who he admires. His grandfather was apparently an entrepreneur who had served the company a lot, having wisdom formed from hard and challenging experiences.

Even in the midst of celebration, grandfather shared his story of struggle in his youth. Tama's grandfather tells about how he managed to overcome various obstacles in the era, explaining how important unity and solidarity in facing the enemy.

Nevan was so excited to hear her brother's story. The boy chose to sleep in his mother's room.

Nevan was playing, until she saw Brother Tama and Albert chatting.

The five-year-old is back playing, while Tama and Albert are chatting lightly.

"I'm sure Zara's not sleeping in there because of her son you're carrying, Albert," Tama said.

Albert just smiled, Zara is like his wife, Dania. Always be wary even though Nathan's grown.

After three weeks, Tama finally took her grandson back.

Shortly after, accompanied by a drizzle that was getting faster, Tama saw Zara rising from the porch chair while walling the door.  Zara looks worried.

"Dad, was that Nathan still here? I have been unable to sleep for a few hours, afraid that you might come and not seem to have a garden with Nevan" Zara asked nervously.

"Yes, he's still here, with Nevan," Tama replied with a smile.

Zara sighed and smiled in relief. The burden on his heart lifted. While controlling his breath, he touched the hijab and sat next to Alber who was still stuck with his worried face. Zara patted Albert's shoulder gently.

"Thanks yes Pa, I thought you were talking to Tama's dad again and didn't think Nathan was with Nevan anymore. I couldn't sleep because I was worried that they were going to the park" Zara said with a clumsy smile.

"Please, Zara. Your father and I have been panicking a lot like you, Nathan used to be just as old as Nevan now" Albert said in a flat tone.

Meanwhile, Nathan and Nevan are getting better at sleeping on the rain carpet. There is no wind that pierces inward, either than the trunks of trees that protect it.

"Therefore Zara I came here to hang out with your father," continued Albert, beginning to stomp his knees, as if to lose the clarity of thought. A few seconds later, Albert moved towards the door in a hurry.

The two brothers Nathan and Erlan, who never escaped the shadow of Dania, always remind Zara not to worry too much about her Nevan.

Albert also wanted Nathan to be independent, grow up to be a strong child and not depend on others when he grew up.

The afternoon was dark and the rain was getting worse. Nevan awoke to the rumbling of thunder in the sky that boomed.he stared wide at the thick cloudy sky. The flame tongue that followed the rumbling crack broke the high sky. Nevan gasps and runs to meet Brother Tama and Mama Zara who are frowning watching Nevan's empty behavior screaming in the rain.

"What thunder is it, Mam?" ask Nevan.

Zara smiled with anxiety. "That's a bright light in the sky when it rains, Dear. Usually accompanied by a loud bang," je.

Meanwhile, in the opposite seat, Tama observes Albert.

Meanwhile, in the opposite seat, Tama observes Albert who is still immersed in his own thoughts. Albert looked worried, reflected on his face.

He looked out the window and saw the rain growing. The falling of the water made Dania's tears and the accompanying shadows appear more clearly on Albert's head. It was as if Dania was in front of him, offering him a question that he somehow had to answer.

Tama began to speak, in an affectionate and understanding tone. "Albert, we all understand why you feel so troubled and worried about Nathan. Dania has always been a wonderful mother, always taking care of every detail of their lives. But now that he's no longer here, we all have to learn. Learn to become stronger and independent, Nevan is no exception."

"Maybe it's true we need to give more leeway to children to learn on their own, and discover the world out there. But, of course, we will always be here to support, leaving them free, but always present when they need to," Tama added, grabbing Albert's slightly trembling hand.

Albert nodded, smiling at Tama. "Thank you, Besan. I know we can get through this together. I'm going to try to teach Nathan and myself to be more daring to live a life without Dania. I'm sure that's what Dania wants, isn't it?"

Tama nodded, rubbing Albert's wet cheeks by the rain and tears. "Dania must be proud to see all of us fighting and supporting each other like this, she will always be in our hearts."

Nevan who was still curious about the thunder joined in the conversation. "Thunder is there, Opa? Why, anyway?" ask him innocently.

Zara had tidied up her skirt that was wet by the rain before explaining, "Actually the thunder was the sound produced when there was a difference in heat and cold in the atmosphere. When lightning strikes, the surrounding air is heated rapidly causing extreme temperature differences. Well, the loud noise you hear, it's actually the sound of air expanding and then bumping into each other."

Nevan gaped, amazed to hear Zara's explanation. "Well, Mama is smart! I want to be like Mama."

They all laughed, the faces that were wet with rain became even more cheerful. The rain subsided, giving them a chance to take shelter inside the house with Nathan still sleeping.

The afternoon adjacent to the twilight witnessed how their meeting reminded each other of the power of brotherhood and togetherness

In the face of grief and loss, and the importance of supporting and protecting children in the midst of new situations. Each of them is aware of the responsibilities they have, as parents and uncles or aunts of the children they care about.

Dusk came, the originally overcast sky began to fade reddish, signifying that the rain had stopped and started a new chapter for their families. Tama invites Albert, Zara, Nevan, and Nathan who have woken up to have dinner together in the dining room. During the meal, they shared stories about today and hope for tomorrow.

Nathan, who sits next to Nevan, recounts his experiences playing in the park despite being hungry and a little scared of thunder. Nevan excitedly retold Zara's explanation of thunder, as if she had found an interesting new science to share. Everyone at the table laughed, mesmerized by the innocence and joy of the children.

Meanwhile, the parents were relieved to see the two young children so happy in the midst of a difficult situation.

Zara then tries to open up a conversation about their future together as a family. "So, how about we start having family meetings like this, to make sure everything's okay and we can share the support is with each other?" propose Zara with hope.

Albert and Tama agreed. "That's a good idea, Zara. Children will also definitely be more adaptable if they see us working together like this" Tama said with a smile.

After dinner, they cleaned the table together, checking on the two children who had started to get sleepy. They then decided to spend the rest of the night watching a family movie together in the living room.

Surrounded by the soft light of the lamp and the warm aroma of coffee, they can feel each other so closely, apart from the wounds in their hearts.

As usual, time went on, the night was getting late. Nevan and Nessa had already fallen asleep on Zara's lap, while Tama calmly enveloped them with a warm blanket.

They are afraid, anxious, yet at the same time feel grateful to have passed this day with great effort, open communication, and mutual trust.

They are aware that tomorrow may present more challenges, but believe that they will become stronger as a family if they stay together.

Every step that Nathan took in the recovery process, no matter how great the pain and fear they felt, would be a solid foundation for a future that is still vague.

Staring at the quiet and peaceful night that enveloped the mansion after finishing watching the movie, the cool and warm feeling mixed into one. Nathan looked out the window, sighing as if to create even deeper gratitude and hope.

"I know things won't be the same as before. But, with us together, I'm sure we'll all be able to live it" Nathan said softly.

Albert nodded, looking at his son sitting beside him, "We will be a strong pillar for these children. They will grow in our love that knows no bounds."

Zara stroked Nevan's soft hair, "Let's promise ourselves, to always be there for each other when we go through the storm, and to celebrate when we find the rainbow after the rain."

Erlan who sat side by side, transformed into a team with the same feelings and strengthen each other.

That night, they felt that there was hope coming back to the surface, comforting a troubled heart. Like a shining star in the night sky, that hope gives them the strength to continue the journey of life.

"Father Albert, let us always remember these words of ours and keep trying to be better for these children, for the sake of a bright future for them," zara said as she looked at them softly.

They nodded as if confirming the promise, and Tama declared that they would never forget these words. Together, they will face all the obstacles that arise and overcome pent-up grief, for the sake of the ignorant children, Nathan and Nevan, who have never known anything, and Dania who always possessed every inch of their heart space.

The night passed and tomorrow changed. They realize that the happiness achieved may still face trials,.But togetherness and mutual trust will be the bridge that connects hope to a better future.

slowly over time, hope becomes more straight and powerful, blazing brightly on a path that may be winding. Staying connected by family ties, strengthening each other, they believe that one day, the cloud that once covered the rays of hope will disappear and the difficult path becomes more open and bright.

For Nathan who matters that his exit is fine, the man smiles looking at Zara and one of his eyes winks.

Zara just shook her head and immediately turned her face away because she was like a boiled crab for what her husband did.
