Salvagars

Salvagars
3. Preparation

Early in the morning Arlon was awake and ready to set out for the Salvagar forest. He couldn't sleep last night. All he had in mind was how to find the beast and rush out of it. Does he need to go too far into a forest so dark and dense or can he find it outside the forest? Do strange animals really exist? And many unanswered questions were raging in his head.

He took a shower before his mind went too far. Unlike usual, this morning Arlon was not very excited and only spent time in the bathroom for about 10 minutes.

He immediately prepared and made sure nothing important was left behind. The black backpack he was about to carry was already full of personal gear, such as some clothes stels and dry food supplies. There were also flashlights, bows and arrows, sharpened folding knives, tents and air rifles. He also prepared some health equipment such as bandages, anti-insect drugs and other drugs. The backpack looks very big and heavy.

At seven o'clock in the morning, Arlon had already left for the Yorka zoo. The journey from where he lives to the zoo is very close, only about 15 minutes by foot. Arlon deliberately set off early while enjoying the shade of trees and the sky is quite bright. The morning breeze hit his face, making him comfortable and wanting to close his eyes.

Unknowingly, he had arrived in front of such a large and sturdy gate. The gate had a great history for him, when he first came there.

Back then, the zoo was still very new and not as extensive as it is now. The gate is still made of bamboo. The scenery around is still surrounded by forests that have not been as neat now. There's still a lot of reeds overgrown here. Moreover, the number of animals are only 3 kinds, namely snakes, elephants and crocodiles. It was also captured directly by residents for wandering wild when the location still looks like a wilderness.

Arlon, who was only 13 years old, came in with confusion. At that time he had just lost his father, a reliable hunter, who had not come home more than a month after hunting in the opposite forest. As well as his other father's companions, no one returned.

He was also evicted from his residence because he was unable to pay rent. With some clothes left, he went to find another place to stop until he reached the zoo. With humility Mr. Darlen, Arlon can finally live and work there. For him, Mr. Darlen is like his own father. That's why, whatever orders and wishes Mr. Darlen always tried to follow.

"Ar!", cried Marvin resuscitated for a moment. He ran towards Arlon who was still surprised. "Why is bengong there? From earlier called ga nyut."

"Ga anything. Again look at the gate aja.", answered Arlon wrong behavior. I think he's been standing there long enough.

"Little you!", said Marvin with a puzzled look. " Muorrow to look at the gate before moving", he continued, laughing together. Marvin's words made Arlon sad again because soon that time will come.

"Eh, by the way you've brought the same binoculars that the cave asked yesterday, right?", asked Arlon while looking at the backpack that Marvin carried seemed so full.

"Take it, safe" said Marvin confidently. "But this is we go straight there or have to see Mr Darlen first?"

"We go in first, yesterday Mr. Darlen asked to see you for a moment", replied Arlon while opening the gate that is quite heavy. The zoo still looked very quiet, not even the security guard could see the trunk of his nose.

They walked to Mr. Darlen's office not far from there. The morning was quieter than usual. The pockets looked so quiet, as did the main playground that was near the entrance.

While chatting, it did not feel that Mr. Darlen's office had been seen by the two of them. Then Carel came out of there with a roll of paper and a blue pen. He was busy looking at the note he had brought.

"Carel! Abis why are you there?", asked Marvin curiously.

"Regular.. Report first to the big boss. Because later the cave will have to monitor the situation around", replied Carel proudly. Arlon and Marvin smiled. "The first cave yes, want to check the cage Leon first abis it want to see the work of other friends.", said Carel as passed.

"He's a rich boss" said Marvin upset. From the beginning, Marvin had disliked Carel's behavior like a two-faced sycophant.

"Let's just vin" said Arlon, patting Marvin's shoulder slowly. "In addition, the period is only 3 days doang, that brother he will be your subordinate."

"Yes yes, later the cave will clean the crocodile cage alone as you feed the lion directly use your hands" said Marvin upset. He also laughed out loud.

"Don't dong, he's the one who works the most, yaaa though.. Tau itself is how.", replied Marvin who was still strummed.

"Hey! What are you guys doing there? Here come in!", said Mr. Darlen who was standing in front of the door of his room. It seemed that their laughter was too loud to sound into the room. They both came straight to the room.

They put their backpacks near the door and hurried to sit on the wooden bench in front of the table. Today Mr. Darlen's office looks cleaner than yesterday. The paper pile is more neatly arranged. Mr. Darlen was sitting in his proud chair while taking a piece of paper and thrusting it on the table. Arlon and Marvin saw the picture there.

"What is that sir?", asked Arlon.

"It's Tabi. The rare creature I asked you to find and bring here" replied Mr. Darlen with enthusiasm.

"That's a picture of where sir?", asked Marvin while closely observing the picture. Accordance with what many people are talking about - short, puffed-up, hairy.

"My fishing buddies at that time had seen it firsthand. When he wanted to catch it, the creature ran very fast" said Mr. Darlen. "And I'm sure, you two can definitely catch it easily."

"But sorry in advance sir, this is Salvagar forest sir, the forest that.. You know for yourself how scary.", said Marvin. "The risk for us there is also great. Many never come back."

"And as far as I know, access there is also quite dangerous. Plus our equipment is makeshift, while we do not know for sure how the terrain there.", said Arlon.

"Yes I understand", replied Mr. Darlen looking at the two of them while nodding slowly. "To go there is not easy. That's why I let you both go."

Looks like Mr. Darlen didn't catch the point of Marvin and Arlon's words. Arlon finally opened his voice.

"If we can't find the creature and bring it here, what about sir?", asked Arlon.

"That means you should go home soon. Don't stay there too long. At most it is quite 3 days", replied Mr. Darlen firmly.

"Well, if we manage to bring the creature here, what do we get?", asked Marvin who immediately asked the point.

Mr. Darlen laughed. "Just calm.. Later you will get your own parts. Incredibly large pay. Because I'm sure, if we can catch the creature, surely our zoo will be more successful than before. 1 Million each."

This is the word they were waiting for. Rewards. They will fight desperately if there is no reciprocity. And Mr. Darlen's offer was quite satisfying to their expectations. With this nominal, they can buy a house, a car, and much of the rest for other purposes.

"Okay, deal.", said Arlon & Marvin together. They also shook hands with Mr. Darlen.

"Be careful" said Mr. Darlen, hugging the two of them. Especially Arlon, who was already considered like a child himself. They rushed to pick up the backpack and left the room before the sunlight grew hotter.

"andr! Vin!", call Mr. Darlen while staring at them at the door of the room, escorting them away. "Remember, don't stay away from the light."
