Salvagars

Salvagars
2. Final Duties

Arlon can only quietly hear Mr. Darlen's wishes. He doesn't know what to say. The forest is a nightmare for everyone. Especially to go in there for something uncertain.

"Arlon? Hows it? You can right?", said Mr. Darlen spirit and confident.

"What kind of creature does that mean sir?", asked Arlon carefully.

"A type of animal that lately had been famous and became a material grab people. I'm sure you know that", continued Mr. Darlen.

"But it's just a fairy tale sir, after all where there are such animals" continued Arlon very confidently.

"But some people saw it very clearly, it was in the forest. Looks like a guard there.", pressed Mr. Darlen with confidence.

"But if anything, no one knows how it looks sir. Well, at least they only know the outline. Short, puffed and hairy, his tongue like a snake.. What kind of beast is that? And until now, no one has managed to catch him, right" Arlon said in a rather high tone. It seems that Mr. Darlen is no longer able to distinguish between real things and imaginary ones. "Even as I recall, those who said the creature existed, soon turned crazy. Or if less fortunate, shortly after they died", continued Arlon horrified.

Mr. Darlen is still trying to find something among the pile of paper that is getting messy without caring about Arlon's words. His face began to despair. What was sought was not found. After 15 minutes of searching and no results, he gave up.

"Well, I'll show you if the picture has been found. I have a friend who never accidentally saw it", said Mr. Darlen while staring at Arlon. "That's why you're going to the forest tomorrow. Do not forget to bring the usual equipment to be brought for hunting. And before you leave, make sure you stop by to meet me."

"Then, I set out on my own sir?", asked Arlon. He could not imagine what it would be like if he was alone in the forest. Just thought of going through it not want to.

"Who are you going to ask?", asked Mr. Darlen. "Let me guess.. You want to take.. Marvin?"

"Yes sir", said Arlon confidently. Although sometimes they do not get along, but so far only Marvin is reliable. "Later for the management of the animals, I'll ask the help of another manager."

Mr. Darlen just nodded in agreement. "Yes, then you can continue your work."

"Sorry sir, if I may know, why would you want me to catch the creature?", asked Arlon curiously.

"Konon, for anyone who can own the animal, his life will be prosperous. Do you want our zoo to be successful? Especially now that the fans are dwindling. We really need funds to support the animals and all the employees. Do not let the incident of that time repeat itself", said Mr. Darlen while recalling the time when the zoo was almost closed due to debt here. His face was immediately saddened uninspired. "And until this second, you're the only one I believe can do that" he continued.

"Well sir", said Arlon. He started to accept the madness Mr. Darlen asked for today.

"Of course, you can continue your work. Don't worry, you'll get the part later" continued Mr. Darlen while blinking one eye.

Arlon rushed out and intended to meet Marvin immediately. He went straight to the elephant cage and felt sure his best friend was there. He walked quickly as his mind thought about what would happen to him in the next few hours. Either he'll survive or he won't.

Sure enough, in the elephant cage he saw Marvin just finished feeding the large animal and preparing to go to the next cage.

"Marvin!", called Arlon in a loud voice jolted, making Marvin's face very surprised. Arlon hastened his pace.

"Why Ar?", asked Marvin while taking a paper from his pants pocket. The paper contains the next animal checklist that must be taken care of.

"Where?", asked Marvin with an enthusiastic face. It seems obvious that he needs a vacation.

"Salvagar."

The mood was silent for a moment. Marvin was surprised to hear that, according to Arlon's prediction.

"Ga wants! Crazy kali!", said Marvin while turning his eyes to the elephant with a look of panic.

"Let's go".", whine Arlon. "Sir Darlen asked the cave there and the gamau cave alone." Arlon also recounted the incident that had happened in Mr. Darlen's room in a hurry. It was crazy and made no sense to him.

"Yes.. He said there was this creature. But indeed people up to this time no one has ever managed to catch him" said Marvin.

"And you believe the beast exists?", asked Arlon to his best friend who he felt had started following him madly.

"Hmmm.. Yep.. Believe me anyway", replied Marvin hesitantly while nodding slowly. "Because uncle of the cave used to have seen it firsthand."

"Right?", asked Arlon in surprise. He doesn't believe in that at all. "Maybe hallucinations?"

"He said so. He saw the time he was still a hunter and it just so happened that Salvagar forest was still safe. There are still many people who dare to go there to just look for firewood" explained Marvin while trying to remember the story of his uncle when he was a child. "Even he saw not only the strange beast, but also", he stopped his words.

"What?", asked Arlon starting to get curious. Marvin just shook his head. "Seriously Vin, what's up?"

"Nga.. Nothing", replied Marvin immediately ending the conversation with a face as if covering something. "Hey, Carel!", said Marvin to one of the zoo officials who happened to be passing by.

"Hi Vin, Ar.. Again at what?", asked Carel, squinting, making sure he greeted the right person.

"Chat.", answered Marvin briefly. "Tumben ga wear glasses?“

"Yes was in a hurry, so his glasses were left at home" Carel replied with a smile. It looks better to be a nerdy kid than a zoo attendant.

"Eh yes, tomorrow you enter right?“, asked Arlon. Carel thought for a while and nodded. "Well, coincidences.. So actually the cave has a noble task for you."

"Well, what is Ar?", asked Carel enthusiastically and with sparkling eyes. Only Carel was excited by the additional task.

"So gini.. The cave next week has moved, and the position of the cave will be replaced with Marvin.", said Arlon half whispered, making Carel should be closer. "Well, for about the next three days, the cave has the same needs as Marvin outside. And of the managers that exist, you are the most suitable handle Marvin's work temporarily. How's it?"

Marvin shook his head with the intention of giving Carel the code to refuse, but he did not understand. Carel's expression changed. "May.", replied Carel with a sparkling look. "So when do you start?"

"From tomorrow", replied Arlon.
