The afternoon was quite hot, making the air in the air-conditioned room very comfortable. Although it looks a bit dark, but forgiven the fragrance of lavender and bossa Nova music that melodious.
In the room that is not how big, there is a rectangular wooden table with a pile of paper on it. There, two men sat facing each other in silence, making the atmosphere in the room even colder.
"You sure?", asked a man from behind the table with a sharp look, making his interlocutor doubtful.
"Yes sir", replied the middle-aged man in moss-green clothes while carrying a large black pouch near his feet.
The man only exhaled a long breath while smiling resignedly. He walked to the window with a blank look. The sunlight made a sad expression radiate clearly from his face, although he tried his hardest to hide it.
"Relax Mr. Dar, I will definitely try to stop by here if there is a chance" said the man in a slightly trembling voice, as if he was hesitant to meet the man again. The old man only smiled kindly while nodding slowly. The frown on his face made him look older yet wise.
The silent atmosphere again lasted for about 10 minutes, making each other feel awkward. The middle-aged man named Arlon, a zookeeper who has worked there for almost 15 years, starting from the beginning of the zoo stood, almost closed, managed to get quiet visitors, until it was empty, it's all been through. He was very familiar with all the animals there, both tame to the most savage. And so far, only Arlon has faithfully taken care of the animals there.
Meanwhile, the old man with a rather bushy mustache was named Mr. Darlen. He is the owner of the zoo. Initially the zoo had 3 leaders, but now only he who continues all animal care there. The first manager left with enough debt, until finally the zoo was almost closed and made some animals starve to death. While the other manager moved to the opposite city and was not heard from again until now.
Mr. Darlen, with the buttoned-up shirt, finally restarted the conversation.
"Yes already if it's your best decision", he continued trying hard. The insincere tone with the forced look on his face made Arlon heavy to leave him, making him even more speechless.
"Sorry sir, I will definitely try my best until next week" Arlon said standing up. "All activities I've summarized for Marvin and other friends." Mr. Darlen again just nodded.
"But, by the way, what is this smell?", asked Mr. Darlen while sniffing to find the source of the stench that had disturbed the entire room.
"Hehe.. I'm sorry sir, this is the fawn I hunted last night for Buwa" Arlon said smilingly as he lifted the black plastic bag with his right hand. "Exit from here I will immediately love him", he continued, while close the plastic bag with both hands that look dirty. He seems to have a little trouble lifting it.
"Buwa? The panther?", guess Mr. Darlen.
"Crocodile sir, whose son Yaya is the same Bubu" said Arlon with a serious face. Mr. Darlen can only laugh a little.
"Somehow your replacement will be able to care about it to them. Understand and know every detail of all the animals here", said Mr. Darlen slowly. The atmosphere was silent for a few minutes. Arlon just kept quiet and agreed to Mr. Darlen's words.
"Yes, you feed the Buwa before he becomes more violent", continued Mr. Darlen while sitting back at his desk and starting to look for something among the piles of papers.
Arlon went straight out of Mr. Darlen's room and rushed to the crocodile cage which was quite far from the office. Actually leaving all this life was very hard for Arlon, but he felt it was time to go find his family that might still be there.
Arlon took the deer carcass out of a plastic bag and threw it near Buwa. Not a minute, the carcass of the deer was gone from sight. Arlon looked happy and rushed out of the cage, preparing to feed other animals who were waiting their turn.
Arlon walks to the next animal, the koala. However, in the middle of the journey, there was a voice calling out to him from behind.
"Ar!", said Marvin, a tall and thin man who also wears the same clothes that Arlon wears. He ran small towards her.
"Why vin? You've been given food, right?", asked Arlon as he looked at his watch.
"While, who else is Dadak?", said Marvin annoyed. Because until now only Arlon has memorized the names of animals there.
"That rhino is the rhino. You have to memorize the tablets, if not later they can be angry", replied Arlon casually.
"Yes yes.. Later also long memorized.", answered Marvin rather annoyed. "Oh yes, you awaited Mr. Darlen was in the room, he said it was important."
"When? It was a new cave from there anyway", said Arlon casually while still walking towards the koala cage.
"Now, Ar. Don't get the Mr. mad" replied Marvin while imagining how Mr. Darlen's very friendly face could change instantly when he was angry.
"Okay", replied Arlon while taking out a small black plastic bag from the pocket of her right pants. "but please love this first to Kola, because the lunch hour she had passed 1 hour. Afraid of getting rich last week, he won't eat."
Arlon rushed back to the room of Mr. Darlen by leaving Marvin behind him, who was sculpting while holding the parcel given Arlon earlier. While running, he recalled how he first worked there. It all felt so fast, it felt like it was just yesterday.
Finally Arlon arrived at Mr. Darlen's office. He tapped softly as he looked into the room. Mr. Darlen, who was aware of Arlon's whereabouts, looked straight at the door and let Arlon in.
"It's a minute, I forgot to tell you something" said Mr. Darlen, looking for documents that seemed important. Arlon came in and sat in a wooden chair right in front of Mr. Darlen.
"What's the matter, sir?", asked Arlon as she followed Mr. Darlen's hand, which was still moving around looking for documents that I don't know.
"You're here in a week, right? I want to ask you for help. May?", said Mr. Darlen.
"What is it sir?", asked Arlon, wrinkling his forehead. He was very excited to help, moreover he would leave that place in a moment.
"Please find and bring here the strange creatures in the forest of Salvagar" said Mr. Darlen seriously.
