Remember Me, My Husband!

Remember Me, My Husband!
Are You Sure?

“How can? Did you do one night stand with him?” Andre looked at Arlan full of probing. He could see how much Arlan was confused. Even Arlan took a few minutes to be able to answer that question.

“I don't know. I can't remember what happened that night clearly. All I know is someone took me to a nightlife and gave me a drink. I can't remember what happened next. In the morning I woke up wearing nothing, and Laura was crying next to me. We're at an inn.”

The short story made Andre even more intrigued to dig deeper. In the past Arlan was a drunk man and a nightlife lover. But since Maysha came into his life, he began to reorganize himself and abandon old habits. So all his time is spent working and thinking of ways to get Maysha.

“Alright, try to tell me quietly,” said Andre when he realized Arlan was getting nervous.

Arlan took a deep breath. His jaw was hardened, his face reddened as if he was holding back anger. Both of his hands were already clenched and Andre could see all of that.

“I don't know where to start. Everything is very confusing.”

“Try to calm down first. No hurry. Just tell me starting from after you crash.”

The pieces of the past revolve in Arlan's memory. Everything was confusing to him, almost driving him crazy.

“I woke up in a state of pain, unable to do anything, not remembering anything. My feet are tied in chains. The room was like an isolation room. There's no one. There are only a few strangers who come every day to ask me things I don't understand.”

“That means you were held captive?”

“Maybe so. I don't know how long I've been there, which must have been a long time. Until I finally got better and was able to escape. I had thought that I was a fugitive who had committed a great crime. That's why I hid in a small town and worked as a waitress in a cafe.”

The conversation is getting serious. Andre was trying to make a conclusion from the line of sentences that Arlan had spoken.

“Did you not remember the slightest thing about Maysha or your other family?”

Arlan shook his head. Sweat began to pour soaking in the forehead, even though the night air was quite cool. “I don't even know who I am. There were a lot of reporters who came to this house. To be honest I was scared.”

Seeing Arlan who looked increasingly confused and nervous, Andre tried to calm down. Didn't want if the questions he gave would even make Arlan burdened. Moreover, this was their first meeting since being separated. At the very least, Arlan should feel comfortable first.

“Alright, don't be forced.” Andre reached out and patted Arlan on the shoulder. “You are Arlan Alviano, a lawyer and businessman. You're not a fugitive, so don't worry.”

Arlan nodded slowly. Andre just continued when he saw it calmer.

“Three years ago you had a train accident. The train burned down and took many casualties. You may be able to see the news about the accident on the internet. Everyone thought you were killed in the incident.”

“Maysha already told me part,” said Arlan.

“And everyone must have been surprised to learn that Arlan Alviano is back. Moreover, the accident caught the attention of the public. Hence there are many news seekers who want to know.”

Finally Arlan was able to breathe a sigh of relief. Andre's explanation made him feel calmer. He leaned his back on the chair and breathed in the cool air that night.

“Now we better focus first on your recovery. I heard Maysha made an appointment with the best neurologist. You can definitely remember everything back when the therapy routine.”

“Oh yes, before the incident at the inn, did you know Laura first?”

“Already. I've known him for the past few months. We're neighbors. He and his mother have helped me a lot. That's why I feel so guilty for ruining Laura.”'s future

“I understand. You are in a difficult position. But are you sure the child in the womb is your son?”

"Why indeed?"

"It's okay. I'm just asking. Any chance that could happen, right?"

"The child in Laura's womb is my son. I have no reason to doubt Laura" he said.

"Yes already. I just want to remind you not to hurt Maysha. He has been waiting for you for three years patiently, even though there are many opportunities for him to marry again. Don't let you regret it."

Arlan flicked away the thick blanket wrapped around his body. For hours he could not be shut down. Andre's last message continued to be reflected in memory.

Finally, Arlan decided to go to the kitchen. A glass of cold water may help refresh his suddenly dry throat. As he passed through Maysha's room he saw the lights still on.

"Maysha's still up at this hour? Why?" Arlan. Wanted to visit Maysha, but hesitated. Finally, back to the kitchen. Upon arrival, he finds Maysha sitting alone at the dinner table with a few dishes in front of her.

"You just ate?" tanyakanya. Maysha didn't come to dinner.

"I'm being sahur, Mom."

"Oh." Arlan didn't ask much more. He moved towards the refrigerator and took out a bottle of mineral water.

He secretly steals a glance towards Maysha. Her skin was pure white, her lips were natural pink without lipstick. Even Maysha looks sweet without any makeup.

Arlan can't even distract him when Maysha heads to the sink to clean up the old dinner plates. When his feet tiptoed to put the glass in the top cupboard, the pajamas he used accidentally blushed to show the shape of his slim waist.

Arlan gulped down the saliva. Suddenly his cheeks flushed red as he looked down and found the trousers he was wearing seemed to protrude forward.
