Chapter 7: Meeting Again

Malvia tried to run, but she could not get out of the invisible shield the witches created. Like singing, the witches started to cast spells together. Malvia's head started to hurt. The longer the pain is felt. Malvia held her head and sat on the ground.

"No!!"

Blood came out of Malvia's mouth, ears and nose. Malvia saw the blood that hit her hand. Hands shaking. The deafening sound was getting louder. One witch advanced towards Malvia while still reciting the spell. The witch touched Malvia's shoulder. Malvia was screaming louder.

"No! I can't die here! I won't let it!"

Malvian eyeballs turn deep red. Fingers elongated. His face had many wrinkles and veins all over his body and his face was black. Malvia held the hand of the witch who touched her and drank the witch's blood. The witch shouted loudly. Another witch stepped back but did not stop her spell reading. Malvia shouted loudly. He hit the invisible shield. The longer the blow gets harder and harder!!

The shield is cracked. The crack quickly spread. The witches were shocked. Malvia grinned happily, rather, creepily.

"Don't let your guard down. We have to keep blinking"

Pranks!!

The shield broke. Everyone is surprised. One witch standing right in front of Malvia stared at Malvia with a trembling body.

"You should run." he whispered. His right lip rose, forming a small grin. The witch retreated slowly. The longer it goes, the faster and the more it turns. The next second Malvia was already in front of him and sucked his blood.

Malvia's body suddenly crashed, but Malvia was able to balance her body as her body touched the ground. Malvia stood up straight.

"That's a big mistake."

Malvia darted, came to the witch one by one and drank her blood. All the witches fell, except one, Helena. Malvia deliberately left Helena last. He really felt betrayed. He believed in the blonde girl. But Helena was betraying him.

"I'm not afraid of you Malvia" said Helena.

"really? But why is your heartbeat beating so fast? Heartbeats can't lie, Helena" Malvia said in a mocking tone. Helena swallowed her saliva. He knew Malvia was right.

A flash past Malvia. A little more he got that flash. The next second flash after flash attacked him. Malvia avoided all of the attacks.

Malvia sped away as fast as she could down the forest in the darkness of the night. Malvia continued to run without stopping. He passed through the forest after the forest.

After a long run, he finally stopped. He heard the river. The forest felt different. Malvia was silent for a moment, trying to listen more clearly. He heard quite a lot of animal sounds, but no humans or you. Even the fairies used to live in the forest. Malvia went near the river. He sat under a tree while gazing at the shining moon even though it was not a full moon.

...***...

Malvia peeked out from behind the tree. He looked alert, staring ahead. Malvia pulled out her fangs and waited for the right time to ambush her.

Within seconds the deer was lying with its neck broken and Malvia drank its blood. He drank animal blood to quench his thirst. Although it doesn't taste as good as human blood. Malvia stood up and rubbed her mouth. He took a rather large log and made a hole quite large and deep. Malvia can make it pretty fast with her vampire powers. Before putting the carcass of the deer into the hole, he pulled the rough four legs, head and tail from his body and put them all into the hole and closed it.

Malvia stared at the blood-filled dress. Malvia returned to the river and got into the river water and soaked in it to remove the smell of blood from her body. After this Malvia plans to infiltrate the settlement of ordinary humans at night and steal their clothes and mingle.

In his heart he felt a little regret having left Ethan's residence, but he had to. For her and Ethan.

Malvia exits the river and takes a walk in the forest, looking for shelter until nightfall. Malvia's move stopped. He heard a heartbeat. Not just one, but many. He also heard the sound of people talking and the extremely fast footsteps of horses towards him. Was he found out?

Malvia got into the thickets and hid. Because he will not be safe if he runs or hides behind a tree. At least her moss green dress could disguise it.

Sure enough, before long came some people on horseback and others on foot. Malvia watched the men from inside the bush. They're ordinary people. He didn't smell the fur like a werewolf or the smell of incense like a witch. Just the smell of sweat and human blood. He was surprised to see King Ellard, the king of men. He wore a brown horse and carried an arrow in his hand and a sword at his waist. The people with him also brought complete equipment.

Malvia's on standby, she's sure they're looking for her.

"Hows it? Are there any signs?" ask Ellard.

"There are traces of his majesty. He passed by here" said one of the trail-seekers.

"Where to go?" ask Ellard again. The trail-seekers began to observe the land around them.

"Well, your honor!" point to the track finder.

"Then, all of you! We're there!" ellard then walked away from where Malvia was hiding. After they were far away, Malvia came out of her hiding place. He was still staring at the direction King Ellard had left earlier.

"Miss." call someone. Malvia jerks. Malvia froze for a moment and then ventured to look. Ethan's?

Ethan was already standing behind him staring at Malvia in confusion. Ethan's coming to Malvia.

"It's you" Ethan said, smiling.

"Wait, how could you-how could I not hear you coming?" Malvia looked confused. He stared at Ethan up and down in turn.

"Maybe it's because you're too focused on looking at the others. I was in the back row because I came in late and saw you get out of there." Ethan pointed at the bush where Malvia had been hiding. Malvia still looked confused. "What are you doing here? I guess you've gone a long way and what's with your dress?" ask Ethan who is surprised to see Malvia's dress torn here and there and dirty. Even Malvia's hair was already tangled, her face looked shabby and seedy.

"Capture you? What do you mean?" Ethan frowned. From the look of his face was confused.

"Yes, don't you and them want to arrest me? Just look at that bow and sword you brought." Malvia pointed at the bow that Ethan had drawn, the arrow that was carried behind him and the long sword tied around his waist. Ethan stared at his bow and sword for a moment.

"Ahhhhh... This it? It's for hunting."

Malvia surprised. "Hunting? Hunting me? Means my guess is right."

"Huh? Wait, wait, what? No, we're not hunting you. See, this is Hundira forest, a special forest for hunting nobles like deer, tigers. Like those. Not vampire hunting or anything. We hunt once a month. Today is the time. My family is a noble family, bearing the title Viscount. So I have to come in for my father."

"So... You guys aren't hunting me?" ask Malvia to make sure.

Ethan laughed a little. "Of course not."

"Why did people see the trail? I meani.. He's got a trail. They're following those tracks."

Ethan smiles. He knew Malvia must be confused. He does not know the people well.

"That's a trail finder. We used to hunt using their services. But to look for traces of animals, not humans or vampires. Just relax."

"God..." Malvia breathes a sigh of relief. Ethan looked at Malvia. He watched every inch of his face.

"Come with me." Ethan asked.

"Where are you going?" ask Malvia.

"We need to fix you. People will be suspicious if they see you like that."

"No thank you. I'll just hide."

"Miss, you can't hide here. They'll find you. Come, come!" Ethan invites Malvia to walk with him. Malvia doubt. He played his thumb nail and bit his lip. But he finally stepped in.

Ethan takes her to the nobility's camp in secret. While in the tent, Malvia is asked to clean herself with a wet cloth and then change clothes with a new one, which Ethan has prepared, while Ethan waits outside the tent.

Some people passed by and greeted him. Ethan returned their greeting.

"Mr Sanders?" call one person. Ethan. He saw the king's right hand, Eldiron, greeting him.

"Mr Eldiron."

"Why don't you go hunting? I thought you were coming." Eldiron stops right in front of Ethan.

"Ah... That's because I came late. Already lost track of them" Ethan told a lie.

"Ahh so. Then we'll just wait for them. We'll just eat later." Eldiron laughing. Ethan laughed awkwardly.

"I also want to keep watch here. Maybe someone will get hurt later. Well I hope there's no."

"You are right, sir. Then I'll go first. I have something to do. See you at Mr. Sanders' banquet."

"Sure sir, see you."

Eldiron leaves Ethan alone. He's still waiting for Malvia to finish.

"Master.." call Malvia softly but the cukuo is heard in Ethan's ear. Ethan went inside. He saw Malvia who was clean. His body and face were clean even his clothes had changed.

"Where did you get these clothes from, sir?" ask Malvia. He was wearing a gray-colored canal outfit.

"Ah.. I bought it from one of the waiters. Fortunately it was fit. And I'm sorry I can only give you the maid's clothes. Because I don't want to look flashy."

"It's okay sir. It's pretty good. I don't want to flashy either. Pretending to be your servant is also good." said Malvia with a smile. Ethan admired that smile. Although Malvia was wearing a servant's shabby clothes, but it did not cover her beauty.

"Are you okay, sir?" malvia asked who saw Ethan suddenly fell silent.

"A-ah... Of course it's good. We're gonna stay tonight. Tomorrow we can go home. Then rest. There's something I have to do." said Ethan, then he walked out of the tent. But arriving at the entrance, his steps came to a halt and stared at Malvia. "Miss, will you come home with me? My house?"

Malvia is quite surprised by Ethan's sudden question. He's taking me home? Malvia's heart suddenly felt warm and subconsciously answered.

"Of course, sir, with pleasure."
