In the morning, Ranum poured coffee into a cup and then into the backyard. Ranum was surprised as he shifted the backyard door. “Why is this baby here?” Ranum muttered, running a little towards baby Chen who was in the backyard.
“Hi little fella, who put you here?” Ranum lifted the baby out of the baby basket.
Olivia chuckled from the backyard door.
“Why is this baby here?” Ranum asked.
Olivia shrugged her shoulders. “Chen who put the baby there.”
“Why did she abandon her baby?” Ranum asked back. “Gosh! What smell is this!” Ranum.
Olivia laughed, pointing at the baby's diaper.
Chen who heard Ranum's screams immediately went to the backyard. “What's up?” Chen continued to ask.
“Why did you put your son here?” Ranum asked, holding his breath.
“I just sun it.” Chen explained.
Ranum gave the baby to Chen, exhaling his long breath. “I didn't expect baby shit to be that terrible.” Ranum regulated his breathing.
Chen and Olivia laughed. “I'll change this baby diaper first.” Olivia took the baby into the house.
Chen gave Ranum's coffee cup. “You better smell this coffee, in order to neutralize that unpleasant smell.” Chen continued saying.
Ranum grabbed the coffee cup, smelled the coffee for a while and sipped the coffee. “Thank you.” Ranum sat on a backyard bench, burning cigarettes.
“Why are you drying your baby?” Ranum asked.
Chen shakes. “I just follow my family's habits.”
“What traditions sunbathe a baby like that?” Ranum asked confused.
“He said to prevent jaundice, can strengthen bones and so on.” Chen explained.
Ranum nodded – nods, starting to understand.
“Thank you for allowing my parents to visit here.” Chen looked at Ranum, smiling.
Ranum nodded, sipping his coffee.
“Do you mind pretending – pretend to be my husband?” Chen asked.
Ranum. “We've done that a lot outside this house.”
“If you don't attack Aiguo Wu's villa then, maybe my life won't be as good as it is today.” Chen smiled.
Ranum. “If I don't attack that villa, your son will have a father.”
Chen shakes. “If Ranum Tan's biological father is still there to date, there are only two possibilities, Ranum Tan will never be present in this world or I will still live alone with Ranum Tan but it is very likely that we will be living in the streets.”
Ranum just kept quiet, smoking his cigarette.
“You definitely understand the nature and attitude of men – men like them.” Chen says.
Ranum. “I don't know.”
“There's no way you don't know Ranum.”
Ranum. “I'm not good at judging someone.”
Chen took a cigarette belonging to Ranum. “You can't smoke.” Ranum spoke flatly.
Chen laughed a little. “Cigarette entry into the lungs – lung Ranum.”
“Hai friends – friends!” Jarrett exclaimed from the door. “Yesterday I came here, but you're not home.” Jarrett spoke to Ranum.
Ranum nodded. “I just got home last night.”
“You want Jarrett's coffee?” Chen asked.
Jarrett. “Can I ask beer?” Jarrett asked.
“Let him take his own drink Chen.” Ranum speaking.
“Ranum is right, you just returned from the hospital don't move too much.” Jarrett went back inside the house, picked up the beer in the fridge.
“You don't have beer cans?” Jarrett asked, emerging from the door.
Ranum. “Olivia who bought that beer stock so she bought it as usual provided at headquarters.” Ranum continued to explain.
Ranum nodded. “As long as Chen and the baby love the room, I love it too.”
Jarrett nodded. “How are you doing Chen?” Jarrett asked.
“I'm good – fine.” Chen smiled.
“What gives birth to a painful baby?” Jarrett asked back.
Ranum raised his hand with a bite scar and Chen's claw.
“Jeez Ranum, is that me?” Chen asked.
Jarrett laughing. “You rest easy, he won't feel what – what a wound like that is.” Jarrett spoke to Chen.
Ranum nodded. “Olivia told me I didn't realize I had this wound on my hand.” Ranum continued smiling.
“I'm sorry Ranum.” Chen stroked Ranum's wound.
“Not a big problem.” Ranum smiled.
“My love would like to have a child.” Jarrett spoke with a tense face.
“Why is your face strained once?” Chen asked.
“You won't understand our world.” Ranum answered Chen's question.
“Your world?” Chen asked confusedly.
Jarrett nodded. “I am afraid that the incident that happened to Miranda also happened to my lover, sorry I brought Miranda in this discussion Ranum. But that's my biggest fear.”
“No problem.” Ranum smiled. “This human being used to visit here very often. Almost every day. But after having a partner, she started to have that fear and so rarely came here for trying to keep her lover.” Ranum explained to Chen.
Jarrett nodded. “And most importantly, I don't like small children.” Jarrett smiled bitterly.
“What is your job Jarrett?” Chen asked.
“Worse than my job.” Ranum answered Chen's question.
“Worse?” Chen asked confusedly.
Ranum nodded. “I have many privileges when killing people, I am helped by many people when I have enemies, many people defend me even if I am wrong. But no one helped Jarrett when he was in trouble. If you think I'm a loner, you're wrong. A hit man like Jarrett is always alone.”
“Can't you help him?” Chen asked Ranum.
Jarrett nodded. “Ranum helps me a lot, that's why some of my business is so much easier. But the risk I receive will not be reduced in the least.” Jarrett continued saying.
“I don't understand about your world, but all I know is that you can definitely like your son one day.” Chen spoke to Jarrett. “I also didn't really like little children before, but I was very happy when Ranum Tan was present in this world.” Chen continued to explain.
“Such as leaving your son in the backyard alone? That's your pleasure?” Ranum laughed a little.
“I was drying him Ranum, not abandoning him. It was for the sake of Ranum Tan's health as well.” Chen put on a sour face.
“I joke.” Ranum smiled. “I disagree with Chen.” Ranum continued speaking.
“Why?” Chen and Jarrett asked simultaneously.
“To be a parent will not be as easy as it seems, you have a very huge responsibility – when it comes to being a parent. The journey of parenthood is very long and the end of that journey is only death.” Ranum burns new cigarettes.
“How do you mean?” Jarrett asked.
“I know I don't have children yet, so there's a chance what I'm talking about is not good. But I don't think I've ever forced you to have children. I knew that at any moment we would never be ready to be a husband or a father. But at least we should be able to understand ourselves first, especially our emotions. I don't know how far you and your partner have studied the science of parenthood to what extent, you can only judge yourself. I always support whatever your decision is. But I won't want to know you again if you decide to be a father but can't be a good father.” Ranum says.
“So I have to how?” Jarrett asked back.
“You want to fulfill your partner's wish?” Ranum asked back.
Jarrett nodded.
“If you are sure and want to, you better take parenting classes. You have a very long time, plus your partner will be carrying the baby for nine months. You don't have to worry about the safety of your partner and baby in the future, I can provide bodyguards for them and assistants to help in your apartment.” Ranum smokes his cigarette.
Jarrett hugged Ranum. “Thank you so much friends.”
Ranum nodded, patting Jarrett on the back.
“What is certain when you have children later, do not have your child call me uncle.” Ranum spoke flatly.
Jarrett and Chen laughed.
