From 'Urwah bin Zubair, he said,
كان الزبير ينهى بنيه عن التصبح ( وهو النّوم في الصّباح )
"Zubair forbade his children to sleep in the morning."
Urwah says,
إني لأسمع أن الرجل يتصبح فأزهد فيه
"really if I
hearing that one sleeps in the morning, I feel
not liking himself". (CHR. Ibn Abi Shaybah 5:222 no. 25442
with sanad yang shahih).
Exemplified by the Prophet shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam and the companions of radhiyallahu 'anhum is that after performing the dawn prayer, they sit in the mosque until sunrise.
The prophet Shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam also prayed for morning as a time of blessing.
اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لأُمَّتِى فِى بُكُورِهَا
"O Allah, bless my people in the morning." (CHR. Abu Daud. 2606, Ibn Majah no. 2236 and Tirmidhi no. 1212. Al Hafizh Abu Thohir said that this hadith is hasan)
Based on the above, some salaf scholars do not like to sleep after dawn prayers.
