Pentathrones
8. The City of Idaris [2]

"Raido lives around here huh?" Kaylis asked cheerfully.

Raido just nods his head and chews food faster. According to him, this kind of girl is the type who will not stop once they have invited a conversation first.

Meanwhile, the long-haired adult man named Lukario who came with him was like he had not slept for a week. There was a clear black girth in his eye bags.

His hand held the spoon raised was also very weak. Raido secretly glanced at Lukario. Although his luxurious and dashing robe gave the impression of a fighter, it felt like once strangled from behind it would have fallen.

"This city is beautiful? You've been here since birth?" Kaylis this time even brought her face closer to Raido.

"Yes." Yeah." Raido is lazy.

"Gee..." Kaylis's eyes were round in awe as if she had heard a very extraordinary answer, so that Raido could no longer bear to blatantly roll his eyeballs. "I'm from the village of Amethyst-tau right? It's close, but I've never been here before."

Associating Kaylis spirit energy with Amethyst Village, Raido envisions a group of workers at the mine who do not stop chatting and laughing screeching from morning to evening. Just imagining it makes him cringe.

"Hey, when we met in Zelicia Forest, what were you doing to that river water?" Kaylis asked curiously.

Raido seemed to think for a moment, then replied, "I'm not doing anything."

"It's obviously a lie. By the way now we are all here as messengers from the palace, we are staying here - the second floor of this restaurant is an inn," Kaylis continued.

Then Kaylis suddenly stood up and drew closer to Raido's ears until she reflexively jerked back a little.

"We are tasked with solving the problems that have recently hit the City of Idaris. Ekhem-ya, you know that." Kaylis whispered a little to Raido.

Hearing Kaylis words just now, Raido flinched and glanced in interest. He immediately regretted when his gaze was even jockeyed with a smile Kaylis who suddenly looked triumphant because she finally managed to steal his attention.

Along with Kaylis and Lukario, there were also two young men wearing palace warrior uniforms whose faces were pale and lethargic. Both look less useful. Arius and Scato.

They were all clearly from the palace, except Kaylis.

"Well, looking at your reaction, it seems like my guess is correct huh. Your existence in Zelicia Forest must have something to do with this matter?" ask Kaylis happily.

Feeling successfully lured, Raido put on his irritated face. "What do you really want me to do?" tanyakanya. The girl obviously had a certain purpose.

Kaylis suddenly laughed awkwardly upon seeing the savage gaze from Raido. "Why see me that? Hahaha, of course we want to find a solution!" he ranted recklessly, then lashed Scato's back beside him until the poor man coughed up his soup.

"Are you, Scato? We have to solve the problem in the river, long time can be terrible!" kaylis said again, with a contrived expression of horror.

Raido squinted his eyes. "So the people from the palace have heard about the problems in this city lately? Now sending help? That so?" He tried to draw conclusions.

Kaylis flicked her finger radiantly. "Yes, yeah! Damn right!" pekiknya slow.

Raido leaned against his chair, looking like he was thinking.

"We can work together if you want" coleleteh Kaylis cheerfully.

"I'm busy," Raido replied without interest. "I'm sure you can try to do it yourself. I'll deal with it my own way too." Raido wiped his lips with the napkin quickly.

To be honest, it would be great if anyone could help him, but this group of people could not be trusted just like that. The most difficult thing to understand is why the palace sent such a sickly group of people to help.

It could be that they are a group of con artists who have a hidden plan. The noisy girl had absolutely no appearance of her palace. He's not in uniform at all. The way he investigated was also completely unprofessional.

As long as there is something strange, it is better not to get involved with them.

After all, what happened in that river would not be overcome by these people. It's free.

"I'll go home first." Raido said goodbye and just left.

"Eh-" Kaylis's hand shot up into the air, trying to stop him, but Raido's back had already disappeared behind the door. Kaylis sat down again in annoyance. He glanced savagely at Lukario.

Lukario rubbed his forehead. "I don't want to help. I just don't know what to say. Not everyone can act like you, you know. You should know that too" said Lukario with raised eyebrows.

New time to arrive in Idaris City, it is still early morning. Kaylis really wanted to wash her body with fresh water when she saw the blue of the City of Idaris after crying for hours.

Meanwhile, Arius and Scato complain their backs hurt from sleeping in the hard train seats. Although Kaylis thinks they are too spoiled for the size of a soldier, he still wants to quickly fall in a comfortable place.

They hurriedly approached just anyone on the street, and the unlucky fellow was a red-haired girl who happened to be very kind.

Her name was Salina. His body was thin and his skin looked dry. Salina led them to this inn, and told me all kinds of things about this city.

From Salina they also know that the City of Idaris lately is risking its title as a water city. Fountains everywhere weakened, the water murmured, and the height of the river water decreased. So no need to be surprised if you see people begging to cry at the Water Goddess temple.

To Salina, Kaylis confesses that they are a team that the palace sent to arrest the fugitive, and this morning will examine a witness - his intention is Raido.

Lukario had marked five points on the map of the Gamara region that he would visit to meet the future king. In addition, in fact, he also has pocketed five identities of prospective kings. That way, the job becomes easier because there is a clear target.

They had deliberately chosen to stay near the Arkage Academy in order to easily approach Raido. Since morning, they had been observing Raido from a distance, starting from him entering the Arkage Academy, to the end of teaching.

Kaylis recognized him in one glance. Raido was the waterbender he had met in the Zelicia Forest back then.

Kaylis felt very heavy because she was forced to stalk others, when she was once angry because she was treated like this before. He protested at the way Lukario thought he was wrong.

"Anyways, you can't just haphazardly ask him to be a future king as if everyone would want to be. People have their own lives and goals. In my typical, you happen to be lucky because I slandered one village man.

We do it slowly so that we can gain Raido's trust first. Most importantly, you-I mean Lukario-do not carelessly show those yellow eyeballs!" Kaylis nagged like that this morning.

Lukario defended himself. "I'm just trying to shorten the time. You know I could've hunted to death first if not sooner."

Arius and Scato were the additional troops that Lucario had requested from the palace. Lukario was quite aware that he was almost fainted in the Amethyst Village, so he needed help just in case.

Kaylis recounted everything that happened in the Amethyst Village to Arius and Scato, spiced up with "stalkers", "chasing all the way to the middle of the forest", and "infiltrating into my room".

Lukario interjected a thousand times to defend himself, but Arius and Scato looked at him in disgust, and said, "Master Lukario, are you like that?". With a heart as heavy as a rock, Lukario finally succumbed because Arius and Scato were more on Kaylis' side.

For an hour, Kaylis did not stop raving about what they should do. "As Salina had already told, there was a problem with the water source in this city. Likely, the root of the problem is in the river that passes through the Zelicia-oh Forest of the Covendale River, thank you Arius.

The river is said to be the source of water for the city of Idaris. I saw Raido trying to do something there. He was from the family of the owner of the Arkage Academy you know - based on the information from Lukario - definitely not an arbitrary waterbender.

Asumsiku, there's a chance he knows something, and he's trying to fix it himself. First of all, make sure the assumption is correct, then we offer help to Raido. If it turns out to be wrong, we will find another plan.

I admit this way is a bit careless and frivolous, but since we don't have much time, it's better to just try it right? After all if we manage to solve that problem with him, at least he must have softened on us."

That's how they want it to be, but the plan becomes like a prank when it's done in person. Kaylis was bearded in front of her empty plate.

"He's so cold. See not his expression from earlier? Well, he must have been secretly nagging inwardly because Kaylis was noisy continuously," said Arius, putting on a face of disbelief. "I'm being pessimistic. Mr Lukario, are there any other candidates?

Lukario hits Arius on the head until the man makes a "ouch" sound". "I became the successor to Child of Throne not to give up so easily" he grunted, then his gaze moved on the seemingly disappointed Kaylis.

"Hows it? Want to try it my way?" Lukario asked with little hope.

Kaylis looked at Lukario. "Not that I would forbid, but offered help to save his city he would not, let alone be asked to be a candidate for king to save one kingdom suddenly."

Agreeing Kaylis's words, they then left the table disappointedly doubled.
