This morning Kaylis' mother was circling in the kitchen baking a lot of chocolate muffins. The sweet aroma goes out to all parts of the kitchen and dining room. Kaylis kept some of the fruit in a paper box she held in her hand.
Kaylis walked cheerfully out of the house past the rows of her tight and narrow, but beautiful neighbor's house. A flock of birds pecking at the call of colorful ornamental stones escaped due to the pounding of Kaylis' feet.
A few dozen meters from Kaylis's house there was a quarry, usually called the western mine, which produced a great deal of gold. He peeked in from a distance and waved his cheerful hand, saying "Good morning" to the miners there, whether they knew him or not.
"Kaylis, what's going on here today?" Zivon patted Kaylis on the shoulder from behind.
Kaylis turned her head and looked at Zivon's tall and well-built figure. He was carrying a pair of shabby gloves, ready to work. Kaylis has known Zivon since childhood. Zivon was indeed two years older than him, but it felt like the tall growth of this man was outrageous.
Kaylis raised a box of muffin cakes with a happy smile. "I brought this for you!" yells.
Zivon and Kaylis toured the mine area. Kaylis could feel her thin soled shoes sneezing in the orange sand.
"You can't possibly put in the roots of the dried persimmon tree - the bitterness is amazing - which you said could add to that stamina here right?" Zivon looked at the muffin in his own hand with raised eyebrows, then bit off a piece. Kaylis had indeed made a bitter medicine mixed with tart cake for Zivon. He's been traumatized for eating a cake for a few weeks.
Kaylis. "Of course not, it's my mom's making."
Amidst the roar of mine machinery, Kaylis and Zivon were sitting on a high dirt step.
"Hi Jeanne, Gio, Luvis," Kaylis greeted three friends who were checking the machines around there. The three approached Zivon and Kaylis, then took off their hats and gloves.
Jeanne, a sweet curly haired woman, is one of the few great women in Amethyst Village who decided to work in the mines. Gio and Luvis Kaylis' age. They both loved playing in this mine as a kid.
While they were munching on the brown muffins, Kaylis looked around. "Hey, this mine has changed a lot since we were kids?" he murmured, paying attention to some empty places that are now occupied by medium-sized machines.
"Yes, this village gradually advanced. Nice right?" Jeanne answered with a mouthful of cake. "Even though it's not even. This western mine takes a little more precedence than all the mines in Amethyst Village. The facilities are better," he continued.
"You haven't heard yet? He said the people from the palace who visited yesterday began to realize the potential of our village," chirped Gio with a sparkling face. "That's see. New transport vehicles and horses began to be sent here today. In other mines it must be the same. We can relax more now, hehe."
Kaylis's eyelids opened wide. Suddenly it was like a butterfly was born tickling his stomach. "really?"
In one corner of the wasteland, there were indeed some workers in full uniform who let out clashing sounds and whistling iron, seemingly building new equipment.
Car transport made of wood usually cuts here and there, looks old, dull, smelly moss, like to collapse immediately. Now there are some wooden carriages that look sturdy and shiny.
Kaylis stared at the mountain of raw gold ore on some of the carriage. Now the sparkle gives its own debate for Kaylis. Not because it was beautiful, but because Kaylis felt the efforts of the people in this village began to get the reciprocal.
"The wages of the mine workers are also said to be raised. Well, I'm so glad to hear it," said Luvis, he was laying his body on the ground. "But as Kaylis often said, the Amethyst Village could not continue to depend on the mines. For the next few decades it's safe, but one day it's all gone, right?"
Kaylis nodded and pondered.
Is correct.
His efforts to advance his small village were actually still long. He clenched his hand and breathed out a strong breath. "Spirit!" suddenly shouted.
Gio and Luvis nodded and chuckled. Kaylis who is familiar with everyone and loves to go around carrying medicines, from sweet to bitter, in her backpack, always tries wholeheartedly to help the villagers.
Kaylis didn't care even though most of them couldn't afford to pay much - she was even awarded an albino frog by a three-year-old.
Kaylis's face flushed with embarrassment. Kaylis learned healing from her grandmother as a child. In her grandmother's lineage of healing experts, only Kaylis got a natural talent. Both her parents always wanted to send Kaylis to study in the capital and become a famous healing expert there.
However, Kaylis always refused. Even in this village he could learn as much as he could in the capital through books. All medicinal ingredients were available in the Zelicia Forest-near the east of Amethyst Village. There was no reason for him to leave Amethyst. After all, this small village with a lot of dangerous jobs needed him so much.
Kaylis glanced at Luvis who was lying on the ground. His thin body looks like a flower behind the T-shirt he wears. Kaylis frowned watching Luvis.
Breath is heavy.
"You're sick, aren't you?" kaylis asked, a little worried. His face was paler than usual. Kaylis glanced at the man's finger. The nails are a little blue. Then a fleeting memory of all these symptoms flashed through his mind.
It wasn't just a strange man named Lukario yesterday. Kaylis hates to admit it, but she's seen a lot of these symptoms in people in the last few days.
"I've been a little tired lately. It seems we are working too hard. Other people complain about the same thing, we get tired easily." Luvis replied with a light laugh, not wanting Kaylis to be more serious about all of this.
Kaylis stood up and patted her buttocks to clean her pants off the ground.
"Who? Are you leaving already?" Zivon.
"Isabelle's birthday tomorrow. You're coming, right?" Kaylis reminded with one blinked eye. "I'll take her birthday present first! The drug!" Kaylis paused and left behind a few pieces of muffins.

Kaylis flipped through the pages of one of the palm-thick old books in the narrow library of her home. This library is the relic of his grandmother. There are many books on healing and healing here.
While covering his nose and mouth with his hands, he occasionally cleaned dust grains from each sheet of paper. In his head, he mentioned over and over again all those symptoms.
Blue nails, pale lips, cold hands, heavy breathing, sometimes to the point of not being able to walk, head swirling, nightmares, black eye bags, then...
Kaylis closed the book in front of him violently. He squeezed his own head with his eyes closed.
There aren't.... I can't find him yet....
