Kaylis looked at the pale blue sky, the transparent wind, the expanse of grass, and the long-distance colourful carpet. He himself sat on a bright yellow carpet.
Empty look. His mind was like pitch black which was unclear whether it was black because it was too full or black because it was dark and empty.
On his yellow carpet, he was surrounded by plates of sweet cakes and many cups with only one cup filled with warm tea, that is, his cup. It hasn't been drunk a mouthful either.
His ears were just a silent buzz, refusing to accept the sound of joyous chatter surrounding him at this moment.
"Kaylis!"
One voice and a pat on the shoulder sucked Kaylis back to reality and her senses that were pretending to be dead were suddenly all alive.
Kaylis jumped up like she just remembered that she was at Isabelle's birthday party and should be laughing cheerfully at the moment. Instead of appearing excited, he just came and hadn't even greeted Isabelle
"How long have you been waiting? Why dream like that?" Zivon asked curiously, and after seeing the light blue gift wrappers with ribbons in Kaylis's grasp, he immediately continued, "Well, what are you going to give her? Vegetable juice from Greamtory, huh? Pregnant women usually drink it, right?
"It's so ridiculous." Kaylis rolled her eyeballs.
Behind Zivon's back, there were Luvis, Jeanne, and Gio. They wore colorful casual suits, and shorts suitable for relaxing in the open like that place.
"Yikes, it really doesn't taste good you know, it tastes like moldy broccoli mixed with sour tomatoes." Luvis shuddered in horror reminiscing about his bitter experience, while Gio whispered "Was broccoli moldy?" to Jeanne.
Kaylis immediately choked chuckling considering yesterday in Zelicia Forest she was thinking about that vegetable juice. "Hey don't be so careless, I made this myself. It's sweet." He pulled out his tongue and put on his annoying face.
Isabelle saw Kaylis and her group of friends from a distance, then waved with a big belly, and undeniably she became look like she was doing gymnastics fitness pregnant women.
As a child who could have gotten anything from her parents - and her now-husband -, Isabelle could throw festive birthday parties every year.
As of now, his guests were mastering a vast meadow on the edge of the Amethyst Village, with an expensive set of tea cups for each person, and the cake he ordered away from the land.
Isabelle lived without flaws, and was even endowed with hypnotic beauty. However, he never messed around, never pretentious, meek, and smiled a lot.
During her first child, her smile grew even more than twice her usual. Kaylis was also happy to imagine a cute child combining Isabelle's beauty and her husband's good looks later.
Isabelle, with sparkling golden hair of curls in the sun, thanked a dozen with a big smile as she added gifts to the pile of gifts on the large table beside her.
He stopped moving the gift when he received the small blue package from Kaylis, and immediately took out the contents. "Ah I've guessed, surely you made something for me my son huh?" The beautiful Isabelle seemed to be beaming her stomach.
He held up a clear glass bottle filled with green liquid, covered in a glass plug as well.
Zivon laughed batedly at the green liquid that really looked like a blended broccoli and Jeanne helped clog the man's mouth as Kaylis stared fiercely.
"Hey, hey, you're just making another version of vegetable juice, right?" Zivon laughed idly at Kaylis when they had returned to their carpet, enjoying the party atmosphere.
Kaylis turned away in disbelief. After everything he had gone through in Zelicia Forest yesterday to collect the ingredients that ended up being that green liquid, now he was accused of juicing vegetables.
Lukario's face with his body of pain was in Kaylis's mind and suddenly his expression became like he was being swallowed by a fish's thorn.
Jeanne waved in front of Kaylis' restless face. "Hey, hey. Kaylis. Zivon's words offend you, huh?" He glanced at Zivon and punched his shoulders softly. "Basic guy sucks."
Kaylis hurriedly shook her head before Zivon said "Sorry" as usual when he felt his jokes were too late. Indeed he admitted that Zivon's jokes were a bit stale and crisp, but Kaylis never took issue with them. "Not really, I'm just thinking about something."
She looked at Jeanne's fingers closest to her, and she immediately saw what she did not want to see. Jeanne's nails, even Gio, Luvis, and Zivon's, all started turning blue.
Remembering something Lukario said to him yesterday, Kaylis felt guilty, very guilty.
Kaylis rejected the offer of the throne outright, without even giving Lukario the slightest loophole to simply persuade him with various advantages.
But considering what is happening in the land of Gamara, Kaylis prayed that Lukario could finish his task as soon as possible, even without Kaylis.
Kaylis alternately stared at her own fingers, and half-hate, half-relieved, looked at the row of her fresh pink nails.
Amidst the laughter, suddenly they heard the sound of shouting together from one of the groups on the other carpet. At first no one cared, at most there was a large grasshopper or a harmless snake boy who knew about approaching one of them, then his screams spread to each other.
But the shout did not stop, turning into a roar that roared, and the cries of tears were deafening. Everyone panicked, glancing-lyrics wanted to see, but instead crawled backwards away from the hysterical people's carpet.
Kaylis, meanwhile, hurriedly rose up in fear, hoping that her mind was only carelessly prejudiced. But it seemed that the prejudice was true, because he saw those people crying over a young woman lying motionless on the carpet. Occasionally his body trembled like a seizure, and his eyes were completely black.
Kaylis ran towards the carpet, splitting the people who were shaking, even though she was just as trembling as them.
"Ellie! Ellie!"
Kaylis shook her stiff oval body which occasionally trembled horribly. Ellia's nails were almost completely blue, even looking like black at the moment.
Kaylis did not bring any equipment or medicine with her - even if there was, she was not sure what to do either. He placed both of his palms on Ellia's chest, took in a fierce-rigid breath, and a green light flowed from her palm.
The people who were just watching in fear instead followed up screaming like a rat when they saw Kaylis let out her healing light.
Considering Kaylis had almost never shown it to anyone before, they never knew Kaylis could do this to this day.
He exerted his entire body to do something with this healing light, until his hands trembled. Kaylis's head hurt a lot, it felt like it was about to explode. Over time, his breath began to be difficult to take. Ellia's body was shaking even more violently.
Kaylis's gaze began to blur as a black light shot out from Ellia's body, mixing with her healing light. The black color was getting more and more, hovering in the air, and making the sound of horror screams people sounded increasingly noisy.
"ELLIE! NAY! GET AWAY FROM YOU, YOU HORRIBLE WOMAN!"
Kaylis could not do any further. Now he's fallen on his stomach, right next to Ellia's body, out of power.
His ears were full of screams that could no longer be digested by his brain. But his eyes could still see faintly between the grass tickling the nape and back of his ears.
In a corner of the meadow, just below the only large tree on this green field, Lukario rested on the body of the tree with her hands folded in front of her chest. He looked straight at Kaylis, with an unfathomable expression.
"Basic.. stalker." Kaylis whispered weakly, hoping that the whisper would reach Lukario's ear.
Then after that, his gaze disappeared along with his consciousness.
