Chapters 13.
“Hai...! Can I sit here?” the voice of someone resuscitated Vanessa from her relaxed attitude at the hotel cafe table.
He turned his head, and it seemed to him that Raven was waiting for an answer from him.
Vanessa smiled and nodded, “Please, Mr. Raven.
Raven took the spot in front of Vanessa. A waiter came, and Raven ordered a glass of warm milk coffee.
“You are not in the office?” ask Vanessa. “It's almost ten o'clock...,” Vanessa glanced at the big clock in her hand.
That morning he was wearing a casual dress combined with jeans. Thick makeup on her face when she appeared on stage last night is not visible anymore, changing with thin makeup that makes her look even more beautiful.
As a normal man, Raven felt she was also interested in seeing a girl as beautiful as Vanessa who was also a singer.
“It just so happens today I'm not so busy,” Raven said. “I just got out of the office. I got bored, and decided to relax for a while at the cafe. Unexpected to meet you here.”
“Oh..,” reaction Vanessa. “Rupanya so. At first I thought a director like you, must be very free, want to go in the morning or afternoon, and also free to wander anywhere you like.”
“Ah, not so,” Shall Raven. “I always arrive on time and rarely go home before office hours are over. As a superior, I will have to set a good example also to the subordinates.”
“I agree with your words,” Vanessa thumbs up. “Although I never worked in the office, but I agree, if discipline should be applied early.”
They both smile.
“I feel envious of you,” said Raven. “At this young age you have achieved everything. Success, fame, and more. Are you satisfied with what you have achieved so far?”
Vanessa shrugged her shoulders. “It feels like until now I feel satisfied enough to get to the top of my career, just how to maintain it. But usually a singer can not always be at the top, sometimes other more talented young singers appear who will replace his position. Because of that, sometimes I also feel anxious. But I always tell myself that this kind of fame is not my main goal. Actually, as a normal girl, I want to have a lover who really loves me, not because of my fame or because of all the advantages I have, but because she loves me as I am, with all my flaws.”
“Women as beautiful as you will definitely easily get it,” Raven said.
Vanessa breathed a long sigh. “To be honest I said, that until now I still have not got the person I want. But today I thought...,” Vanessa looked for a moment at Raven, but quickly she turned her eyes elsewhere when her gaze met with a sharp and memorable cold look of Raven's eyes. “I was thinking.., maybe I'll find that guy. And I feel so sure,” hiss Vanessa.
“Oh yes?” Raven was interested. “What's the lucky guy, if I may know?”
Vanessa shakes. “I can't tell you. Because I still don't know the person any closer. Just a quick glance, I feel that person is suitable for me.”
“Sori, it's okay if you think I'm still your new friend, so it's not worth knowing,” Raven said.
“Really not so,” Vanessa hastily rejected. “I was just thinking does that person have the same feelings as me? I have always wanted to have a lover who I really love and love. Then we will marry simply and wade through the household ark happily, along with our cute children.”
“So, that is the main purpose of your life?” guess Raven.
Vanessa nodded. “If you how, Mr Raven?” vanessa Fishing.
“Call me Raven. May I call you Vanessa?”
“That's what I've been trying to tell you since,” Vanessa smiles in relief. “If I had just met you last night, but I felt like I could get along with you quickly. It feels like we fit in, huh?” seloroh Vanessa's.
Raven gave a small smile in response to Vanessa's joke. Then he said, “The main goal of my life is almost the same as yours. In addition to an established job and career, I also want to get a woman who can really touch my feelings. So I liked him not because I was forced or because I expected something from him. And I hope that woman can understand me and return my love.”
“Did you find that woman until now?” ask Vanessa to know.
Raven thought for a moment, then shook her head. “It hasn't. Because every woman I know, they always show me the courage to approach me first. That's what I hate. I think, a loyal woman, should be able to maintain her self-esteem is not?”
Vanessa sneered for a moment. Fortunately, he was not aggressive, he thought. “I thought, it would be hard to find a woman like you want it,” he said bravely. “Because of every woman you meet, it's hard not to like you, at least they will feel interested,” Vanessa looks at Raven carefully, wanting to know how she reacts.
But Raven seemed to have no reaction.
“Ehm.., I mean...,” Vanessa feels bad and is out of words to connect.
“Tak nothing,” says Raven. “I see your point. It's hard to get a woman like that. But that is my principle. In addition, I hope you also get a man like you mentioned earlier. I am amazed by your simple purpose in life, which is not grandiose. You deserve it, Vanessa. You'll get it,” Raven again.
“Thank you for your support,” reply Vanessa. “I also hope soon there will be a woman who can really touch your feelings and make you interested. It feels like I can't possibly have such conditions right?” vanessa's fishing rod was joking.
Raven watched Vanessa for a moment. Her eyes were fixed on Vanessa's beautiful and gentle face. She doesn't know how she feels about Vanessa. Is there a particular feeling? Honestly, he was a bit interested in Vanessa. But if it touches his feelings? Wait…? Still not, huh?
Raven started to tell me, “Actually, there was a woman I had been watching with my whole heart. She is Miss Claire, the owner of this hotel. We met about ten years ago. Claire's father took, raised and financed me since I was 14. I live in his big house, accompanying Claire, his only princess. Since then Claire and I have always been together, going everywhere always together. I love and care about Claire. But I doubt whether this includes any special feelings or just affection, because we have been together for a long time.
Vanessa took a moment, and she responded, “If it's not wrong, Miss Claire whom you meant was the Miss that Caroline last night introduced to me, isn't it? The one standing beside you?”
“Really! He's the one!” answer Raven. “Do you think I deserve to be with him?”
Vanessa smiled, though bitter and somewhat forced.
“Actually, I see you guys don't seem like a matching couple. It looks more like brothers. Maybe your affection for her is just a feeling of affection, because you have been together for a long time, but not a feeling of love,” said Vanessa. “Sorry yes, if I have offended you, but I speak honestly and as is. That's how I feel.”
Raven let out a heavy sigh. “Indeed I thought so too. But I don't think I'd be able to live without Claire, because she's been by my side all this time.”
“Then you tell him you want to raise him as a sister,” suggested Vanessa. “Thus, you can always pay attention and love him, although later you may be separated because he married another man, or you married another woman.”
“Is that your suggestion?” raven asked doubtfully. “Actually, I've been dizzy thinking about this a long time ago. Thinking about my uncertain feelings and not being able to understand myself. I don't know how Claire feels about me either. Does he love me because he loves me, or is it just because we've been together for so long?”
“If that one, you should ask her yourself,” Vanessa's advice again, while shrugging.
The cell phone in Raven's pocket rang. Quickly, Raven answered after seeing the caller's number, “Ya, Claire?”
“Raven, where are you? I was looking for you in your room, but you're not?” claire asked across the street.
“Oh.., this is me at the hotel cafe. I kissed for a moment because I felt so good. What is it that you're looking for me, Claire?”
“There is something I want to talk to you about, about our new project,” Claire said.
“Then, I'll be there right now.”
“Oh, I'm with Vanessa. It just so happened that we met at the cafe and talked for a moment.”
“So I bother you?” claire asked in a strange tone.
“Not at all, Claire. I'm going back now. Already yes, wait for me there,” Raven hung up her mobile phone and put it back in her suit pocket.
"I have to go now, Vanessa. Claire was waiting for me,” Raven pulled something out of her shirt pocket. “This is my business card and mobile number,” he said as he handed it to Vanessa and got up from his chair, getting ready to leave.
As Vanessa remembered something, she asked for a piece of paper from the waiter and wrote her phone number there. “And this is my number,” he said as he handed the paper to Raven.
Raven accepted it and kept it in her shirt pocket.
“Okey, sometime we talk again huh?” Then he left and walked away, leaving Vanessa staring at his passing with a meaningful look.

Vanessa sang again tonight. But not in the ballroom where the party was held last night, but in the hotel's karaoke room which is quite spacious.
This hotel is quite complete. As there are plenty of rooms to accommodate guests, there is also a large restaurant where guests can enjoy morning, afternoon and evening meals. There are also cafes for hang-outs and karaoke rooms for singing, enjoying music and relieving momentary fatigue.
Although the appearance of Vanessa tonight seems unofficial, because the party has been held last night, but no matter the appearance of Vanessa gets the attention of the guests who deliberately crowded the room to watch Vanessa sing. Vanessa also seemed more relaxed in performing her songs.
A standing ovation from guests welcomed the completion of Vanessa singing.
Five songs have been performed since then, and now he came down from the stage and walked closer to a sofa in the corner. Raven was sitting there.
“Hai...,” greet Vanessa, “Can I sit here?”
“Of course it may be,” Raven shifted her seat slightly, and Vanessa took a spot beside her.
“Drink?” bargain Raven while pouring a beer bottle into an empty glass at the table.
“Little bit,” says Vanessa.
“Actually, I prefer to drink water. But it's okay, to accompany you for a drink tonight. “Toast....,” Vanessa raised her glass up, and Raven raised her glass, then they both toast.
The karaoke scene has changed with others. Maybe one of the hotel guests who also wanted to sing. His voice was decent as well and the music that accompanied him sounded soft in the ears.
Raven and Vanessa seemed relaxed, they chatted, and sometimes drank again from their own glasses.
“Ah, in fact I am not used to drinking so much,” Vanessa said. “This is to please you. Pity if you get to drink alone, it's not good if there are no drinking friends, right?”
Raven smiled. “It turns out you know too. Actually, I'm used to drinking alone, because if he went anywhere with Claire, he wouldn't want to accompany me to drink even a single glass.”
“But you can bring your other girlfriends?” vanessa Fishing.
“Ah, where is it. If Claire sees me drinking with another woman, she'll definitely scold me. He thinks I'm all kinds of.”
“If now Claire sees you drinking with me, how about?”
“He can't be here now, because this afternoon he said he wanted to go to a meeting of the hotel owners. Kyle who accompanied him.”
“Kyle?” repeated Vanessa. “Who is he?”
“Oh, I forgot to tell you yes, that Claire has a personal assistant. A man named Kyle. He's Claire's bodyguard everywhere. Ever since an incident at night that almost harmed Claire, Kyle's presence next to her is needed to protect her wherever she goes. Even everyday it was Kyle who drove Claire home from work.”
“Oh, so even if you live in the same house, but you don't always come home with Claire?” asked Vanessa.
Raven shook her head. “Sometimes our schedule is not the same. Since I don't always have time to drive him home every day, it was Kyle who did the job.”
“Do you feel your position on Claire's side as if replaced?”
“Slightly. But I'm relieved that Kyle can take care of her every day. As long as it's for Claire's sake, I accept whatever it is.”
“You did pay a lot of attention to Claire,” said Vanessa was envious.
“Ohya, I heard this hotel has branches in several places. Can you take me for a look over there tomorrow? My manager said, I can go out for a walk tomorrow because there is no event on skedul.”
“Mmm..., may also,” replied Raven after a moment of thought. “It feels like tomorrow there are no meetings with outside clients nor a review to the project. I can accompany you all day.”
“Will Claire not be angry again if she does not find you in your work space later?” Vanessa was kind of reminded that Claire called Raven this morning on her cell phone because she couldn't find Raven in her study.
“Ah, it seems unlikely that he was angry, because I was just accompanying you to look around to our other hotel. Your presence there can even attract the attention of hotel guests. That's good for our hotel, right?” ask Raven.
“Thank God then,” said Vanessa was relieved. “At last I have friends again, not just fans or friends to
have fun.”
“It seems you don't have many friends either?” guess Raven.
Vanessa nodded. “Crue. I don't like to hang out with just anyone. I am very selective in choosing friends and do not want to follow the\-follow of those who like to wander at night. That's why I sometimes say arrogant.”
“But I think your fans don't think you're arrogant, do they?”
“Rubber, because they know clearly the ins and outs of me who wants to live my life in peace. There's almost no news about me, right? I guess, it's one of the things that made my fans salute me and stay with me.”
“Now you add one more supporter,” Raven joked Vanessa's laughter.
They both laughed, then toast and drink again, while the night dissolved.
