"Your head is very heavy" Andreas said, rejecting Mariana's head resting on his shoulder.
The scorching sun burned the earth, also scorching the heart of Andreas because of the actions of Mariana.
"Ai .. My head weighs not one kilo, but you're not able to carry it. What about my love that weighs tons of this?"
Mama smelled a smile hearing Mariana's words. He saw the head peek briefly two lovebirds sitting in front of the porch of his house. He shook his head, when he saw his daughter back against Andreas' shoulder.
It had been over twenty minutes that he sat behind the door holding them down, embroidery on the tablecloth. However, the couple was instantly unaware of his presence. Andreas stood up, holding up the plastic chair he was sitting on, as Mariana's head rested on his shoulder.
"Where are you going, Mr Perjaka?" Mariana also stood up, pulling one end of the leg of the chair. So there is a pull between the two. Each is complaining of strength.
"Kribo, release!"
"No," said Mariana, sticking out her tongue. His left hand hugged the pole of the house, his right hand also pulled the leg of the chair.
Andreas won't lose either. Maruah is a bet. He would not lose to a woman again. His fighting spirit was burning within himself trying to maintain his pride as a man.
As the victory almost sided with Andreas, Mariana suddenly let go of her right hand making Andreas' balance falter. The man fell backwards with the chair he pulled. His butt and back immediately slapped the floor. Andreas's face was flushed red withstanding indignation, a complete embarrassment to him. Thankfully, no one was looking around. They also did not realize the presence of their mother.
"Sorry."
Mariana quickly moved to help Andreas. However, too gopoh-gapah, Mariana tripped the chair legs making the girl also fell down next to Andreas. The heart's intention to scold Mariana was suppressed, as the girl raised her head, revealing a lump as big as a chicken egg from the village adorning her forehead.
"Ha-ha-ha!" Andreas. Mariana flossed her teeth, grimacing withstanding pain.
Mama who was lurking just shook her head to see their behavior. He stood up, walked up to the two and sat down next to Mariana. Mama took off her hair bun letting the long gray hair break down past her shoulders.
He took the tip of his hair, blown it briefly to warm the hair, then pressed it on Mariana's bumpy forehead. Mariana screamed. Squeezing Andreas' hands as hard as he could to channel the pain he endured.
"Okay, sick, Mom! I almost pissed."
Mama did not answer. He did it a few times until the bump shrank and came back flat. It's just that Mariana's forehead still looks blackish red.
"Later rub using massage oil," ordered mom and then returned to the house.
They're staring. "Your mom was there?" andreas asked without a sound.
Mariana poked her shoulder. "Perhaps" he answered without a sound.
Then they laughed together.
Shortly thereafter, the sound of Dance shocked them. While climbing the stairs, Mariana's sister grumbled, "It's very hot today when it just rained yesterday."
He was fanning his sweaty face with a small book.
His forehead creased as he stepped on the last step, seeing the bride-to-be sitting on the floor, while the plastic chair they were sitting on was overturned and away from the position of the two of them.
"It must be fighting again, this," he said after no one answered.
"We didn't fight. Right, to, honey?" Mariana looked at Andreas. The man nodded his head quickly.
Dance said nothing more. He placed a large book as thick as the Bible and a small book he had used to fan his face.
"For what, ni?" mariana asked as she looked at the book of Responsive Psalms that Dance had placed on her thigh with the Catholic Marriage Guide left behind in the church.
"Sunday's Brother Ande brings the first and second readings. That's a message from Teus, Chairman of our Stasi Board. Tata, you sing Psalms. Look at the week to XXVIII." Dance explained.
"That guidebook, you forgot it at church. Good thing Teus found you." Mariana nodded.
"Mr Virgin!" call Mariana, "have you memorized our wedding vows?"
Andreas straightened his legs to correct his sitting position. "Later Romo Wens asked, just answer .. yes, I promise, yes, I am willing," he said, with a smile.
"The face of Brother Ande beaming, must have been impatient to wait for this day-H, e." The dance sitting next to Mariana began to tease Andreas.
"Ai .. Is that all?" ask Mariana, while opening the manual page by page.
Dance snatched away the book Mariana was holding. "Mr Andreas, is it willing that the brother marry the Mariana Kribo, promise a life of piety, always together in joy and sorrow, in profit and misery?"
"I'm not ready." Mariana answered. His voice sounded loud.
The time around them seemed to stop, as Mariana gave her answer. Mama who was embroidery, stopped her activities. Dance directly sculpting. Andreas kept looking. His heart suddenly beat fast.
"If it's for life .. I want it, but if it's true .. don't. If that happens, it always ends in an accident." Mariana was saddened to see the face of Andreas' chelates.
"Mr Virgin, for the sake of my love for you, which is heavy in these tons, let me die first, e." Andreas choked on his saliva.
Yoke!
Dance knocked Mariana's head off.
Andreas stood up, about to pass from there.
"Where are you going?" ask Mariana.
"You're looking for ice cubes. Listen to that expression of your love that makes me hotter."
