49. Dinners

Yana becomes a passive party in the conversation at the dinner table. He understood the topic being discussed. They talk about stocks, acquisitions, corporate affiliates and blah blah blah. But because Yana doesn't know who they're talking about, Yana chooses silence.

The new fact he gets is Max's manager turns out to be his own cousin. Their faces are rather similar. Yana notices three family members talking to her as observers.

"Do you like the food?"

Max looks at Yana's plate which is still full of food. Several times he glanced at Yana lazily cutting off her steak meat.

Yana's mind was nowhere. His gaze was empty somewhere.

"Where.."

Yana gasped at Max's call. His voice was full of emphasis.

"Huh huh?" Yana's consciousness is back. Stare dazed. Three eyes were watching him.

"You okay? Your face is pale.." Max clings his hand to Yana's forehead then to her own forehead, measuring Yana's body temperature with her body.
