THE P.O.V. Emma

I was petrified as I looked at William. I don't know what else to say. I grimaced as his grip on my chin tightened.

No, not this time. I won't show my weak side and let him control me as he always does. This time I have to fight. Moreover, things have changed now. I'm here for a purpose, so it would be better if I stick to the plan instead of letting it mess things up.

I jerked her hand away from me and pushed her back. Even though my strength was not comparable to her but still, I managed to take it off of me. I Wiped the tears that stuck to my face with the back of my hand violently, I took a deep breath and looked into his eyes.

"Yes, you win every game, but let me remind you, Mr. Mafia, I'm not the plain Emma anymore. I am no longer the weak and naive Emma, but the strong and tough Emma Valentino. An independent and famous woman in America. I'm not only Vice President Valentino Estates but also the wife of a senior detective and the head of the CIA. You and your minions won't be able to touch a single hair, so hurting me is impossible. You dragged me into the mess yourself and now you think exposing me will lead you to good."

I scoffed and turned the eyeballs towards him.

"You're the one who's gonna ruin your reputation when the world finds out that billionaire William Knight has taken a married woman and even abused her. And even if you're going to tell people that you married me, we've never been divorced and blah blah blah but still people will think of you as a bad person because you'll never be able to tell the truth."

I'm laughing a little. William looked at me blankly as if he was completely unaffected by my words, but before long his gaze turned dark and that was where I knew, I hit the jackpot.

Because if William tells the media his true intentions, he himself will be exposed and the world will know that the leader of The Scorpions is none other than the famous business tycoon, William Knight.

My heart stopped and my eyes widened in shock.

'Did she just call me Miss Valentino?

William looked me in the eye as if he were studying my reaction. I immediately calmed down and glared at him. He laughed and shook his head.

William then took a few steps back. He put his hand into his shirt pocket and spoke in a deep hoarse tone.

"So, I guess we'll keep our relationship formal. No problem for me. All right, so Mrs Valentino, since you're going to be my personal secretary, let's talk about your work, okay?"

He grinned at me and sat in his swivel chair. In my heart cursed him with the most disgusting words I could think of. I'm nodding. I held the chair and shifted it slightly back to sit down.

"WAIT!"

I immediately stopped and looked up only to see her burning eyes.

"Did I tell you to sit down?"

I was surprised by his harsh words. My face was down but it seemed like he was not affected in the slightest. His eyes were still cold.

"I'm sorry?"

I muttered and stood up straight. William inhaled a sharp breath but immediately smirked evilly at me.

"Listen to Mrs Valentino, the first and most important thing I expect from my employees is compliance. I want my employees to be loyal and dedicated. And the thing I dislike the most is disobedience. I know you're not familiar with my company's laws, so let me explain my rules clearly:

Rule 1 #You will never disrespect me.

Rule 2# You will follow my every command because I hate insubordination.

Rule 3# Your level of devotion to me and my company must be commendable.

Rule 4# You are bound to follow my orders, otherwise you will have to face the consequences"

He looked at me sharply. But I insisted on rolling my eyeballs in annoyance.

"And you think I'll follow your orders like a dog, hmm?"

I was silent for a moment. But William chuckled softly at my words, as if those words were keeping him very entertained.

"And why do you think you won't do it, I think you forgot the deal I made with what you call your father-in-law?"

"WHAT ARE YOU SAYING? I CANCELED THE DEAL"

I shouted furiously.

"But Mr. Valentino has accepted our offer and has even signed the deal"

I spit with anger. My chest was pounding with anger. But William seemed unaffected by my anger.

"You don't have a right to that, baby"

He spoke in a calm tone while clasping both of his hands. I looked at him with mixed feelings between anger and confusion.

"What do you mean by that? Of course, I have a voice in my company's business. I'm Vice President Valentino Est-"

"Your Correction"

I looked at him in shock. William grinned at my paled face.

"What?"

"You heard me"

Tears began to pool in my eyes, but I pushed my tears and shouted.

"WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?"

William chuckled at Emma getting angry. He then leaned back on the chair and rested his head on the headrest.

"As I've already said that your future father-in-law has accepted our agreement, but on some terms. The condition was that Valentino's Plantation would now work under the Knight Empire. I've also told your father-in-law that I want to make some changes. The first major change is the screening of useless and incompetent staff in your company. Highly skilled and technically trained employees at my company will be working at Valentino Estates from now on. Second, the dysfunctional goals of your company will be discarded which means that from now on Valentino Estates will complete the tasks given by my company. Third, not only employees but even senior officials such as managers, directors, including the VICE PRESIDENT of the company will be replaced by MY PEOPLE who clearly indicate that you have lost your position. Fourth, all profits earned by your company will be transferred to our secure banks because Valentino Estates is no longer there. But since you are Mr. Valentino's son-in-law, so he begged me to show him a little mercy. That's why I decided to make you my Personal Secretary. Emma was surprised. He stood glued to the spot. His eyes widened and all his anger changed with fear and shock. William grinned at the sight of his petrified face. He knows that he finally managed to get her off guard because Emma did not have the slightest knowledge of this deal. He finally managed to reach his first target and now enjoys the suffering and pain of his victims.

Emma could not find the words. His words hit his face like a loud slap. His eyes glazed over and once again his heart was crushed by a strong wave of betrayal because whatever William said was TRUE. Vincent did send Emma here to keep an eye on William and his work, but he did not realize that William had snatched away his job and now he was desperate and had no job.

After being caught Emma feels scared, afraid to face William's anger. All the painful and frightening memories of the past began to twist in his mind like a cassette tape. At that moment he really wanted to leave everything behind and run away to save himself. He knew that he would not be able to win with William but he still knew that he had annihilated his chance to fight him like a hero because William would never take the risk to expose him and then he would easily return to his original life like a warrior. But he never knew that he had erased his chances of getting out of the game.

William is always one step ahead. She knew that no matter how much Emma tried to be tough and strong, she was still naive. He could easily see the fear that enveloped his eyes as he exposed his secret. He could see streaks of horror drawn all over his face as he began to tremble in his grasp. William knows that once he confronts her, Emma will drop her weapon and will try to return to her peaceful life, but he does not want to make Emma leave him again.

Before catching Emma, he had made a deal with Mr. Valentino. He saw the greed for money in the old man's eyes during the meeting which finally made things easy for him.

After revealing the CIA's secret and secret pendant, she sees how Emma begins to fidget and her brown eyeballs look at her anxiously. But she was well aware that she would return to being a magical woman and would try to be tough. And that was the exact moment where he took out his ace to destroy all his hopes.

Emma stared at. Slowly her sad tears turned into a blazing fireball. All the betrayals and wounds he had received all along exploded within him like a volcano. He began to see red everywhere. Anger rushing in his veins blinded him with anger. He walked towards William angrily and clasped his collar violently.

"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? YOU THINK YOU CAN CONTROL MY LIFE AS YOU LIKE!! YOU USED TO DO THAT IN THE PAST NOW YOU ARE TRYING TO CONTROL ME AS YOUR PUPPET!!! WHY CAN'T YOU LEAVE ME ALONE? I WISH I HAD NEVER MET YOU IN MY LIFE, I WISH I HAD ACCEPTED FINN'S PROPOSAL THAT DAY. Emma screamed with all her might with tears streaming down her eyes. He's fed up with everyone. He just wanted to leave everyone behind and live his life according to himself. He was fed up with people controlling his life because he was their puppet. He was finally done with everyone.

But slowly his grasp loosened as he looked at William's dark gaze. His calm was long gone and now replaced with darkness. A frightening silence enveloped the room and the room temperature dropped a few degrees lower making the air around them cool. His sparkling crow's eyeballs turned into the darkest black color. His jaw was clenched and he was watching him with a calm expression.

Emma shuddered as she was gripped with a deadly dark aura but her heart stopped once she met a dark aura meeting her familiar .....

He started shaking. His anger soon faded and was replaced with fear. He took off his collar and tried to stand up when William suddenly grabbed his hand. Emma screamed in fear but before she could understand, William grabbed her by the neck and slammed her against the table.

His back was facing the table and he was grimacing in pain. The sound of broken glass resounded in the room but he felt no pain. His head now rested on William's right arm while his left hand gripped his neck tightly. Everything happened in the blink of an eye. Emma was lying on the table with William hovering over her. His eyes were burning and his face was red. His breathing was hunting because he looked so angry. The heat of his anger basically burned his skin as he shivered beneath it like a leaf caught in a storm. His heart was pounding and all the blood gathered in his ears which made him turn red. Tears flowed from his eyes but he did not dare to speak. His throat had become dry now while he kept staring at his blazing eyeballs.

"How dare you."

William growled with clenched teeth. His hot breath was fanning his lips. Her sobs grew louder as she was now scared to death. He increased his grip on his throat. Emma began to tremble as she began to squeeze her throat. He gripped his wrist with his trembling hand while hiccupping and crying even harder. William seemed to be completely unaffected. Suddenly he tilted his head and looked at her creepily.

"You like to trigger the beast inside me, hmm? What do you mean until you agree to the bastard's proposal? If you think about this, I will not only chop him up but I will kill you in the most cruel and heinous way that no one can imagine."

William spoke in such a calm tone and died, giving his hair goosebumps. He trembled beneath her and gasped. She leaned forward and kissed the corner of her lips.

"But now my beloved has crossed the line. She not only left me alone but also married the person who had stabbed me. Emma, even after doing that you still dare to babble nonsense in front of me, HUH?"

He growls. Emma was breathing with gasps. Slowly he loosened his grip. He immediately began to breathe large amounts of air. Hot and sultry tears on her cheeks. He kept staring at William with teary eyes but dared not speak. William wiped away the tears and cupped his chin.

"You think you can play with fire. I don't care why you left me, but how could you think that I would leave you so easily after all you've done to me, My Lord Daughter?"

He smiled wickedly while caressing her cheeks.

THE P.O.V. Emma

William stroked my cheek with his rough fingers. I was still petrified in surprise but he pulled me up. I felt something wet on my left arm. I touched it but I got scared when I saw it...

The blood?

My eyes widened in surprise. I turned around and saw broken glass on the table. Waita minute...

The sound of glass breaking

"But why don't I feel pain?

I turned around but William wasn't in place. I observed the room but found it nowhere.

"Baby girl?"

I flinched hearing his hoarse voice. I turned around only to find him entering the cabin but he was holding a black beam in his hand.

"When did he leave?

William then walked closer to me. My eyes are on his right elbow.

'He's bleeding'

That means he's the one who got hurt. That means when he slammed me into the table, he immediately put his hand under my head to protect me?

'But why? He hates me, right?

All my thoughts were shattered when William handed the file to me. I looked at him confused.

"Take it"

He spoke indifferently. I took the file from his hand and opened it. My blood boiled once again as soon as I read it.

It was a contract.

I'm staring. He looked at me with cold eyes.

I couldn't control my anger anymore and spat furiously.

"If you have eyes, you can read that this is a contract. After signing the deal with Mr. Valentino, I have appointed you as my secretary, but I need an affirmation. I dropped the file on the floor. His eyes slowly moved down. He glared at the file and then looked back at me.

"Sorry Mr. Knight, I don't accept this deal. I have no knowledge of it and neither do I have any consent in this regard. This is completely unfair and let me make it clear that neither you nor Mr Valentino have the right to decide where I should work"

William looked at me in silence but then a hoarse laugh came out of his lips.

"Mrs Valentino, you're right but don't forget that you're the vice president of the company, not the C.E.O. The main leader, Mr. Valentino, has full rights over his employees. You're just an ordinary employee not the boss, Mrs Valentino"

He was silent for a moment. I scoffed.

"You don't have to teach me about the rules and order of the world of work. I know better than you, anyway. And I remind you, I am an employee, not a slave. Suddenly the door opens and a man appears with William's gang. The man was in a bound state and his face was covered in a black cloth. I looked at her in confusion as I felt a tight grip on my hand. I looked up and saw Noah grinning at me.

He then pushed me inside. Antonio locked the door. Noah then grabbed my hand and pulled me into the middle of the room.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING? RELEASE ME!!!"

I thrashed in his clutches but he did not flinch. Sebastian then pushed the man to the floor so he now sat down on his knees.

"But why didn't he move?

"It looks like your Agent's husband has crammed your brain in a very nice way but he forgot to tell you his important point, my love"

I was struck by his sudden voice. William was still standing in the same position; his back was facing towards me but the air immediately turned poisonous and made it difficult for me to breathe as his sinister aura returned.

William then slowly turned around and looked at me with a horrifying look. I gasped as he pulled out a shiny silver bayonet from his pocket. He then walked up to the mysterious man while glaring at me sharply.

"You should never try to embarrass The Venom"

He growls. William then walked towards the mysterious man and in one swift motion he tore the black cloth from his face which then flew across the floor.

I screamed in surprise as soon as I saw his face.
