8:00 in the morning

Emma's P.O.V

The scorching sun shone on my face, waking me from a deep sleep. I arrived in London at exactly 05:00 a.m. Two Miller Corporation employees greeted me at the airport. They took me to the hotel. The hotel is very luxurious. I immediately took off the high heels and did not even bother to change clothes. I got into the blanket and fell asleep because I was too tired.

Today is an important day for me because our company is going to sign a big deal with Mr. Miller and his business partners. It's a really profitable deal and it's very important for our company. But I was also nervous because I was going to be the team leader for such a big project.

I get up and stretch my muscles. I went into the bathroom to refresh myself. After taking a shower, I came out wearing a bathrobe. I picked up a nice and decent outfit because as Vice President Valentino Estates, I had to look presentable. I put on makeup and combed my hair. Check myself one last time in the mirror, then pick up the phone and go outside. I locked the door and went downstairs for breakfast.

The restaurant was too messed up. I looked around and found an empty chair by the glass window. I sat down and put the bag on the table. Then check the menu list. There are a variety of delicious foods that make my mouth water. Shortly after, a servant approached me.

I nodded and smiled. Suddenly I remembered that I had not spoken to V since I got here. He told me to tell him but I was too tired. I'll call her number immediately.

After a few rings, he picked it up.

V: Emma, how are you? Why didn't you tell me you were here or not? You know I'm very worried. Why not-

He kept firing questions at me without giving me a chance to explain. She whines like a child which makes me smile at her cuteness.

Emma: V, will you allow me to explain?

I giggled and spoke in a soft tone.

V: Huh? Yeah, sorry. I'm just worried, you know. I'm laughing a little.

Emma: I know. In fact, laziness came upon me because of the exhausting journey. As soon as I landed, two Miller Corporation employees drove me from the airport to the hotel. I fell asleep so I couldn't call you back. Sorry to bother you, V.

Vincent laughed and made me smile.

Emma: Now I'm at the restaurant for breakfast. After that I will head to the Grand Hotel. It was the place chosen by the Miller Corporation for the meeting.

I chuckle.

I mocked. V laughs.

Vincent always makes my days fun. Talking to him always calms me down whenever I feel overwhelmed or sad. Shortly after, my order arrived. I immediately ate the food because I was so hungry.

When I was eating, I could feel the look in my eyes. I slowly spread my eyes around so as not to forget, but I was very surprised that there was no one. All I heard was the sound of cutlery and people gossiping and chuckling while enjoying their breakfast. This may be my hallucination. I ignored him and ate my breakfast.

I left after paying for my food. When I walked down the hall again, I fumbled with that scary feeling. I immediately turned around. But then again... There's no one.

I shivered a little as the feeling started to creep. I also felt scared because this was the first time in four years, I left America and went somewhere alone. I hung up the phone and got out.

After 5 minutes, a black Maserati stopped in front of me. I saw Henry waving at me, making me laugh at his childishness.

"Come in, let's go"

He unlocked the door. I went inside.

"When did you come? And whose car is this?"

I asked him while wearing a seatbelt.

"First answer - Around 7. The second answer-This car belongs to Miller Co. but I got a call from your overprotective husband. He ordered me to be your driver. So, I'll escort you to the venue."

I let out a breath.

"Seriously V?

I looked at Henry and giggled.

"Ups, sorry. You know my husband is overprotective. I feel sorry for you."

Henry scoffed.

"You should be happy because you got a handsome guy as a driver, Mrs Valentino"

She flicked her hair back arrogantly making me laugh.

"All right, I'm grateful. Now will you drive, my lord?"

"Yes, My Lady"

We both laughed and then he left.

End of P.O.V. Emma

He did not know that there was someone watching his every move from afar with red eyes and clenched hands.

He was none other than William.

William was the one who stalked him. He's been after Emma ever since he arrived in London. He followed her quietly all the way to her hotel. At the restaurant too, she sits right behind Emma but she doesn't notice it because Emma is looking everywhere but not backwards.

She sees how happy Emma is to chat with Vincent and even calls him Agent Hubby who doesn't fail to flatter Vincent.

He even saw how he chattered and laughed with Henry.

Although William looked overjoyed on the outside, deep down, he felt deeply sad that he had not found a single scar of regret or sadness on his bright face. But that's not true at all. Emma always missed him so much. He even felt guilty for having cheated on her, but he had accepted the fact that what had happened had happened and now there was no way to change the past.

But at the same time, she could not forget how much William had hurt her, not only physically but mentally as well. However, the poor girl was so good-natured that she always blamed herself for everything and wanted to fix everything in her own way. He misses her a lot because just as William loves Emma, he loves her too. But he's good at hiding his emotions and that's where William misunderstands.

Emma spoke as she circulated her gaze around the large hall with luxurious walls and high ceilings with great admiration. Henry chuckled as he watched Emma admire the building.

"It looks like our President is very excited"

Emma looked at him and nodded while smiling like a child. 

"Yes, this is so beautiful"

"Welcome, Miss. Valentino and Mr. Johnson"

They both turned towards the owner of the voice. Emma saw a wavy long brown haired girl smiling at them. He returned his smile while walking over to her.

"Thank you"

"Hello, I'm Chloe, Mr. Miller's secretary"

He bowed to them. Emma smiled and bowed back.

"It's nice to meet you Chloe"

"Thank you, come on in"

Chloe led them inside. Henry and Emma followed him. He took them to the conference room. Some Valentino Estates employees who were also present in the meeting room along with Miller Corporation employees welcomed Emma and let her sit down. The employees of Miller Corporation have great respect for Emma, not only because she is the Vice President of their company, but also because she is a kind and humble woman. He treated everyone well and never demeaned anyone. Emma smiled and greeted everyone.

"Good morning, Miss Valentino"

Mr. Taylor, who is the Senior Manager at Valentino Estates, said softly. Emma nodded at him with a smile.

"Good morning, Mr. Taylor" He then looked towards Chloe.

"So, Miss Chloe, where's Mr Miller?"

Chloe lowered her head in surprise at the sudden question. But he immediately put on a fake smile and spoke softly.

"Uhmm Ma'am, she's actually stuck in traffic. He'll be late. So, I suggest you start the meeting."

Emma looked at him and nodded.

An hour had passed but there was still no sign of Mr. Miller and his business partner slowly starting to upset me, but I remained calm. Chloe kept explaining to me the details of the deal.

"So, Mrs Valentino, if you agree to this deal, our company will invest a sum of 50 million dollars and Knight Empire will invest 150 million dollars for this project. And let's talk about the shares-"

I stared at him sharply, which made him silent. Chloe became confused by my sudden attitude"

"Don't you think, Miss Chloe, we should talk about that stock with your boss?"

I spoke firmly and Chloe lowered her head.

"Thank you Chloe, but I'd like to introduce myself well to Madame Emma. I'm Noah Miller, CEO of Miller Corporation and he's William Knight, CEO of Knight Empire, my friend and famous billionaire in the UK."

He grinned as he winked at me.

What the hell is going on?

Thousands of questions ran through my mind. I just want to leave this place as soon as possible, but I can't. It was as if my feet were fixated on the ground while I continued to stare at everyone helplessly.

I looked at William. He looked at me with cold eyes.I couldn't speak. It was as if my body was paralyzed from fear and words were stuck in the throat. Slowly he came forward and extended his hand towards me to shake hands.

I swallowed in fear. His face looked cold but his gaze was intimidating and deadly. My heart was pounding as the two of us kept staring into each other's eyes when he suddenly spoke with his deep, hoarse voice that shook me to the core.

"It's nice to meet you .... Lady Emma Knight"

And that's when my soul left my body.
