The Part 14
After a conversation with Abi that night, Aish went back to the usual days. He spent the whole day teaching at pesantren and TPA.
Aish's last few weeks have been busy preparing for the wedding. This morning after the dawn prayer he took the time to help in the kitchen to make breakfast for the students. He rarely jumped in about taking care of pesantren, only occasionally accompany Abi.
Instead of being lazy, it's just that Aish is still locked in with a painful past. His childhood spent helping Ummi prepare all the needs of santri. Until an incident made him withdraw from the pesantren owned by the grandfather who managed the abi.
"Aish help cut onions, Bi" Aish said. Regarding cooking he is not an expert, but just cut cut and make spices he can do it if only for his own consumption and Abi. To consume a lot of people Aish did not dare to take risks, just in case his taste does not fit on the tongue of people.
"Later Ma'am Aish smelled of onions, cut a carrot. Let me cut an onion" said the aunt who uses a plain black cotton robe while carrying a knife and carrot basket in her hand approaching Aish.
Aish immediately stiffened, then a few seconds later screamed hysterically. The flashback of the frightening events that occurred in front of his eyes revolved like a movie that was deliberately watched.
"Yummiiii!! Jangaan, don't kill Ummiiiii!!" Aish's shout boomed, making the general kitchen atmosphere tense. The mothers who were cooking stopped their activities trying to calm Aish down. But the woman ran away screaming and covered her ears with tears.
"Aishhh!!" Abi Zayid who was called santriwati immediately came and saw his daughter who was sheltering on Geo's body.
"Sorry Abi, he thinks I'm Abi." Geo explained that there was no misunderstanding. Last night he was staying at a boarding school. His habit of jogging every morning makes his feet step around the pesantren.
The commotion in the soup kitchen made Geo approach the location. But the woman who was running in fear hit her body like looking for protection while calling Abi and Ummi many times.
Abi Zayid nodded then let out a long sigh. Dejavu, just like it happened seventeen years ago. Where the frightened Aish takes refuge in a young man for thinking it was him.
"You go back to the back" Abi told the woman in black who was still carrying a knife and a carrot in her hand. He could already guess what his daughter was hysterical about.
"Aish!" Adam ran frantically to the soup kitchen when he was told that his future wife was terrified.
"Son, this is Abi." The elderly man patted his daughter on the back and carried her in a warm embrace.
"Ammi, Abb.. Ummie!" Aish said as he pleased, still closing his eyes with both hands. His body trembled violently, sweat soaking his forehead. The shadow of losing Ummi made her even more frightened and repeatedly screamed hysterically.
"Ummi has calmed down with God, son, you are calm." The whisper of Abi Zayid, after a long time the trauma of the princess has not disappeared.
He banned servants who helped with homework from wearing black clothes.
"Take Ummi away from here Abi," Aish pinta was terrified. "Save Ummi, Abi." Please with a hoarse voice.
"Let's go home" Abi Zayid led his daughter home. But only a few steps did the woman fall unconscious.
Geo immediately quickly catches up and asks Abi for permission to help carry Aish.
There was a corner of his heart that felt pain when he saw the hysterical woman in fear. He remembered Ara who was very fragile when he was afraid.
All that Geo reflex did, not realizing there was Ustadz Adam there. He could not have let Aish be carried by the aged Abi Zayid. His intention was only helpful but was interpreted differently by the person who saw him.
Adam could not prevent it, as Geo moved quickly to carry Aish after obtaining permission from Abi Zayid. He dribbled behind following until the house.
Abi Zayid asks Geo to drop Aish on the sofa and then wants to get a blanket. When he turned around, he realized that there was Adam there with a worried look.
