Refusal

At nine in the night, Steve still opened his eyes, even though he was lying on his little bed. Steve couldn't sleep before being read to by Sesil or Oma Emma. But they've left this house, leaving Steve confused about who to ask.

Want to ask Reygan or Rudi, but Steve knows they don't have time for him. They are too busy working.

Until someone entered his room, Steve immediately looked at Naina who was in his room.

"Steve, you haven't slept?" naina asked gently while carrying a glass of milk in her hand.

"What are you doing here? Out!" jolt the boy.

But Naina did not comply, then put the milk on the nightstand near the bed. "Elisha said, You cannot sleep before the story is read. Let me read it."

"No need! You better get out of here!" rejecting Steve made Naina smile wryly.

A moment later, there was a ringing from the phone near Steve. Steve picked it up. Video call from Emma and Sesil.

"Hi Steve." said both.

"Oma, Aunt. How are you guys doing? You better get home soon. Steve doesn't have any friends here." said Steve.

"Prophey, baby. Oma couldn't go back there, before Mama kept you away from that house. Oma wouldn't want to live in a house with that poor woman." said Emma.

"He's not my Mama Oma! He's just a waiter!"

Naina smiled wryly, they did not care about her feelings.

"Honey, you're sleeping. Let Auntie read the story." said Sesil.

Steve, according to him, began to lie on the bed. Feeling no need anymore, Naina immediately stepped out of the room.

A few minutes later, Naina makes sure Steve is asleep. Naina goes back into Steve's room with warm water and a small towel. Naina smiled when she saw the milk she had brought earlier, she said unceremoniously.

"Based on the boy." said Naina.

Naina sat down slowly next to the sleeping Steve, began squeezing the towel soaked in warm water, then compressing the already blue Steve's neck. Alternate with a wrist that is also blue. Naina did it carefully, so Steve wouldn't wake up. Not to forget, Naina also applied ointment to relieve pain, which she asked from Elisha. When she finished, Naina came out of Steve's room. The next day, Naina wakes up faster. There is a lot of work waiting for him. Before entering the bathroom, Naina sees Reygan sleeping on the sofa of their room. Naina recalled, after Reygan had stolen it last night, the man went somewhere. And Naina doesn't know when Reygan's back home.

Naina breathed out a rough breath. The people in this house are not right.

Naina washes her face briefly, then prepares Reygan's clothes for work. Yesterday Elisha also taught him to choose Reygan's workwear. After that, Naina goes to Steve's room to wake the boy up.

"Why is it still here? Go there!" banish him.

"Can you wear your own clothes?" ask Naina.

Steve kept quiet for a while, glancing at his neat school uniform on the bed. Then looked at the haughty Naina, "Of course you can. Out there. Poor fellow!" said it.

"alright. I'm leaving." Naina turned around, but had no intention of leaving. Behind her, Naina knows Steve is starting to wear his uniform.

Naina smiled, this kid is so stubborn. Naina approaches, taking over Steve's bustle without permission.

Naina deftly fixed the buttons of her shirt that was fastened irregularly, and also an untidy belt. Naina did not care about Steve's annoyed look.

"Well, it's neat. Now wear shoes." said Naina after pairing her tie.

Naina sees Steve's school shoes on a shelf there. Naina picks it up, then takes it to Steve. Not yet Naina crouched down, the shoes had already been snatched by Steve.

"I can do it myself! Go there!" said ketus. Go to the other side of the bed, avoiding Naina's reach.

Naina shook her head. This kid is actually not able to do everything himself, but he is too proud to ask for help.

"Why are you still here?! Go there! Don't ever go into my room again!" steve snapped because he still saw Naina there.

Naina ignored him, "Let's go down, we'll have breakfast together" Naina said as she extended her hand.

"Basic poor!" sarcastic Steve, ignoring Naina's hand, walks past her.

Naina followed Steve behind her towards the dining room. There were already Rudi and Reygan, already neat with their work suits. Rudi is still actively working at this old age. Not too much he did. Just reviewing a few projects, the rest was done by Reygan.

Naina notices Reygan, the man is not wearing the clothes he prepared before taking care of Steve. Reygan wears another shirt. Honestly, Naina is hurt, because her work is not appreciated.

Naina chooses to ignore it, then sits next to Steve, facing Reygan directly, while next to her right is Rudi.

"Good morning son-in-law, good morning Steve." said Rudi.

"For Pa.." replied Naina.

"Steve wants what breakfast. Let your mama do it." asked Rudi.

In front of Rudi, Steve could not resist, until finally he pointed at the bread.

Naina swiftly took out two loaves of bread, "What jam do you want?" ask Naina.

Steve did not forget to stare fiercely Naina, then forced to point strawberry jam neatly arranged with jam other variants.

Naina smiled, then started applying jam to the bread. Naina made two, one for her.

"Eat a lot" said Naina after putting bread in front of Steve.

When Naina turned her head, it turned out that Reygan noticed her. Naina raised her eyebrows, she was at a loss for how to start a conversation with this iceberg human before her.

Naina glanced at the plate in front of Reygan who was still empty. Whether she gets a whisper from where, Naina makes another breakfast of bread for Reygan.

Naina puts it on Reygan's plate, making Rudi smile. Reygan looked at it, sparks appearing in those eyes.

Not wanting to linger there, Reygan immediately got up.

"Rey, where are you going? No breakfast? Naina's prepared for you." Rudi resisted.

Reygan stopped, glanced at Naina cynically, "Just give it to the cat" she said curiously and left.

Naina quiet. For the third time Reygan mentioned it.

"I'm sorry Reygan Nak." Rudi patted the back of his hand.

Naina nodded, then saw a smiling Steve satisfied to see her. The boy laughed at him.
