Murderer
CHAPTER 53 - Conspiracy

Jaka's story makes Citra feel the case is getting closer to the bright spot. Linking the original Christian to the old man in the tunnel of the former railway project. There may be a hidden reason why the perpetrators killed the homeless.

The wheels of the car they were riding on kept turning grinding the asphalt of the road. Oranges began to be seen in the western horizon, they drove back to the office. Jaka also went to the office that he had not visited for a long time.

When he arrived at the office, Citra was immediately called Mr. Warsita to face. Finally he asked Haris to take the file on his desk to rearrange the serial murder that killed Anto and Citra's adoptive parents.

Jaka's eyes were fixed on the picture frame on the commander's desk. His forehead frowned and his finger pointed towards the picture frame. “It ... what is the commander's parents?”

Haris who had already opened the door was about to exit the room turned his head in the direction Jaka pointed at, he nodded thinly. Jaka's lips were slightly open like he wanted to say something but he said it, Jaka's strange behavior caught his attention.

“There's a problem?”

For a moment Jaka was confused, like hesitating about something and then he finally shook his head. However, when they were already outside Citra's workroom, Jaka pulled Haris' hand and invited him back inside. He looked back at the photo.

“This man ... this man is similar to the one who kept me in the barn and he also cut off my arm without mercy. It's just, there's something a little different about him ...”

The door that suddenly opened wide violently shocked them. The image emerged from behind the door and looked at Jaka with a pushy look.

“You said my papa held you, huh?” Angrily Citra gripped the collar of Jaka's shirt. “My father is dead, why would you say such a thing!”

“Te—quiet commander. I just said similar and bu—not mean it is your papa.” Jaka tried to calm down Citra.

Afraid that there would be a commotion, Haris broke them up. He asks his commander to release his grip from Jaka's collar. Haris gestured for Jaka to briefly exit the Citra room.

“Jaka only said the possibility, not accusing the late Mr. Adi as the perpetrator, Ndan.” Haris is still trying to calm down Citra.

Image emotions slightly submissive, he realized if his attitude was really outrageous towards Jaka. Though there may be important information that he knows about the perpetrators. He asks Haris to call Jaka back to his room.

“Sorry commander, I just feel like the person holding me is similar to your father. It's just ...” Jaka looks hesitant to continue his speech, the brown iris continues to stare at the photo on the Citra table.

“Only?” Haris looked at Jaka curiously, he did not understand why his partner could say the perpetrator holding him hostage was similar to the late Mr. Adi.

Jaka frowned, his hand reaching for the photo. He pointed at Mr. Adi's left eye. “The man has a cut above his left eye, but the man in this photo does not.”

This time Citra frowned. “Very injury above the left eye? His face looks like my late papa?” The question was floating, either Citra was asking Jaka or was thinking about something that came to her mind.

The image of tapping on the table with her fingertips, a habit she had been hard to break since childhood when she felt anxious. “I have to meet Commander Warsita!”

Without waiting for the response of his two men, he went straight out and headed for his commander's room. Citra believes that Commander Warsita knows something, because he and Commander Norman were handling the twin brother car accident case of his father.

Because of the annoyance also curious Citra lost her mind and immediately broke into the Police Chief's room. Unfortunately, the room is empty.

He's looking for Bripda Baskara, who is an aide to Commander Warsita. Citra had no trouble finding the police officer, Brigadier Two, because he was in the corridor with another police officer.

“Bribda Basque!” The image called out to that junior somewhat loudly. The owner of the name also turned his head and reflexes saluted Citra.

“Ready! What is Iptu Citra?” Bripda Baskara was astonished to see Team A's Captain of the Rescue Division looking for him.

“Commander Warsita, do you know where the commander went? Last morning I was still meeting with him, but just now the room looked empty.”

“Ready! Commander has an appointment with his colleague.”

“Lantas, you didn't accompany him?”

The image grew increasingly suspicious of the commander, not usually the commander left without his aide.

...----------------...

The Alehanua River.

A man is seen standing facing the river whose flow became quite heavy due to the overflow of water after heavy rain a few days ago. On his finger was tucked a cigarette with a smoldering tip and only half remained.

The black Honda CRV stopped not far from where the man was standing. Strange, he didn't seem to be distracted at all and seemed to know if someone was coming. After that, following the white Alphard parked on the right side of the black CRV earlier.

Both cars were driven by men in their mid-fifties. One of them is Warsita, Police Chief Polrestabes Manggala. The man driving Alphard was Arthasena, the owner of the largest property company in Manggala and the adoptive father of the late Valentino.

They approached the man standing on the bank of the river Alehanua. “How is the deal with Mrs Evelyn?” Arthasena asked him without further ado.

“Maybe your whereabouts are already known by Citra, you were very careless when you took the police hostage. Moreover, he could escape and re-assemble with the stubborn police.” Warsita chimed in on Arthasena's question before the man answered her.

The man with a sturdy stature like a veteran of the army turned towards Arthasena and Warsita, he turned out to be Adi, Citra's real foster father. Adi's face was clean without any flaws.

Yudi Hutabarat, Adi's twin brother who is also an army officer just like himself but was assigned in a corner of Papua to be a breath of fresh air for Adi. She and Yudi are separated due to their parents' divorce, Adi goes with her mother, while Yudi goes with their father.

Citra had only met Yudi once when he was a child, after which Yudi who decided to settle in Papua never returned to Medan. One thing Little Imagra remembers about Yudi is the cut above the eyelid just below her left eyebrow.

Everything that happened in Citra's life was a scenario that Evelyn had compiled for her. Starting from the adoption, Raka's bullying in the parlour was never revealed, but this woman never expected that separating Raka and Citra would make the quiet little girl a police officer.

Adi threw away the rest of the cigarette butts he held and stepped on them with his feet. His glare led to the two men who were much younger than him.

“You know why I purposely gave the boy a hint sooner? It's all because I want Evelyn to get eyes and heart image faster for Darius.”

Warsita and Arthasena exchanged looks and grieves. “I don't care about your bullshit plans. All I want is an apartment and housing project in the Antara area smoothly. I don't want the elite areas I'm going to build later there are bums hanging around.” Arthasena sneered.

“As well as me, I only care about the profit sharing of your dirty business. That is if you still want to get my protection,” Warsita said as she patted Adi on the shoulder.

Warsita's hand was pushed aside by Adi, then she took out a brown envelope from behind the jacket she was wearing and threw it towards Warsita.

“This is your commission, do your best to close that homeless case!” Adi whispered in Warsita's ear in a threatening tone.

Warsita pushed the burly body of Adi, the sixty-year-old man is still as sturdy as when he was still a TNI officer.

“As long as there is this, the case will never be solved. You guys are cold-blooded psychopaths. How many more victims do you want for the heart and eyes of that Darius boy?”

Adi gripped the collar of Warsita's shirt. “Urus only your job!”

Before the atmosphere heats up, Arthasena pulls Warsita to go from there. As the two cars moved away, Adi re-ignited the nicotine loop and enjoyed it on the banks of the Alehanua river.

“I'll make you suffer like Darius and Vella made Evelyn suffer first.” Adi murmured in the wind.

His phone rang, “Halo .. well, we start hunting again.”
