Murderer

Murderer
CHAPTER 46 - The Pursuit

According to Dr Hendrawan, who is now in custody for indirectly acknowledging himself as an accomplice, Citra requested a search warrant for Christian.

Today, they have received the letter. On the way to Christian's apartment, the old man's words were always ringing.

“Christian is an unwanted child, Evelyn is my biological daughter. She was pregnant after being raped by some drunken bums when she came home from college.”

That 2017 article was Christian the one who committed all those murders? Head Citra felt so dizzy thinking about the case this time.

Black Rush Citra entered the parking lot, he was like a dejavu when he saw the twenty-story tall building. In the past, he was also here to search Faisal's unit. Now, he has to go back to ransacking the same apartment in a different unit.

The search lasted long enough. However, none of the evidence they found.

In the midst of the investigation, someone was like peeking out from the opening of an open door. Citra realized this and ran after the person. The person first entered the elevator, forcing Citra down through the emergency stairs in order to catch up with him.

The person first arrived at the parking lot in the basement, with a swift image pulled the parka jacket that the person wore when going into his car. Fights are inevitable.

Several times he found this person like deliberately avoiding so that his attacks did not hit Citra. However, Citra did not want to let her guard down, she also managed to twist the person's hand back to pull the mask that covered her face. How surprised Citra, when she managed to pull the mask face cover.

“Christian!” squealing this woman when she saw the person she was chasing was the suspected perpetrator of the serial murder.

Seeing the image of the man's carelessness immediately grabbed the legs of his prospective fiancee and got into the car, then drove the metallic black camri at high speed. Without thinking, Citra called Haris with a walkie talkie and asked his subordinates to handle the search, while he would chase after Christian.

The camri sedan in front of him drove fast, forcing Citra to step on the gas pedal deeper. The heavy traffic made it difficult for him to chase, while the black sedan was so agile through the cracks of the traffic jam. The image also lost track.

He pulled the iron horse over. Citra hit her driver in annoyance and then contacted the satlantas section to help her find Christian's car.

Why would he have to run away? Christian's escape made Citra's suspicions stronger. He pressed the man's phone number, as he thought Christian's phone was off.

“Mama, surely mama knows about that jerk guy!” Citra decides to contact Rita, her foster mom. The ring continued to sound without anyone answering his call.

After repeatedly contacting her mother and no success, Citra chose to return to Christian's apartment. Haris had already finished searching and found nothing.

“Commander, we only found this.” Haris thrusts out a photograph, inside which is a picture of a woman Citra knows as Evelyn with a boy and that's definitely Christian, but she's like having a burn on her cheek.

Is this Christian? Inner Citra wondered, she felt that she should immediately investigate this case. Image's eye-tails saw a scrap of scrap paper on Christian's desk.

He grabbed the memo paper, “God's Hand.” The image was like reading this name, but he forgot where. He pocketed the memo then followed his colleagues who had already gone down to the lobby.

During the trip back to the office, in his mind just kept thinking about the name of God's Hand. Suddenly he turned his vehicle towards Bhayangkara hospital, he felt Bara and Rianti remember this.

Arriving there, Citra did not find Bara anywhere, only Rianti in his laboratory room.

“Eh, what's up? Tumben to here without news.” Rianti was surprised to see him suddenly appear there.

“Where is it?” Citra did not answer Rianti's question and immediately looked for Bara. Rianti shrugged, it seemed like he also did not know where the mad doctor was going.

He then kicked the table making Citra jump in shock. “Site, revenge site that became the beginning of the Man Hand of God case!”

Image flicking his finger, “You're right! That site, the site that misled Banyu Aji and Andre.” What does the site have to do with Christian? The question came to mind in the image.

“Why, Cit?” The curious soul of Rianti was piqued.

“Thank you so much, Rianti. You're the best!”Without answering any questions and ignoring Rianti's protests, he left the laboratory.

His move accelerated so that he could immediately return to the office to start the investigation from the beginning again. As he was heading towards the basement, someone pulled his hand and smothered his mouth.

Citra's eyes widened as she looked at Jaka who was standing before her in a state of chaos. What makes him even more shocked is, one hand Jaka wrapped in makeshift cloth, brownish color on the cloth shows that the wound is long enough.

“Ka—you from anywhere?” misik Citra growled, after Jaka released his hand from Citra's mouth.

“Long story commander. I managed to get here alone, already lucky,” said Jaka, he leaned his back on the wall. His face looked so tired.

Citra invites Jaka to enter the hospital, but she refuses. He felt unsafe if he was hospitalized. So, Citra decides to take Jaka to her house then asks Andrian to check Jaka's wounds later.

“How can you be seriously injured like this?” Citra asked Jaka who was sitting leaning on the back seat.

Jaka stared at the street from the window beside him, “I investigated Doctor Hendrawan and ended up being held hostage by a madman wearing joker makeup.”

“Lantas your wound?”

“He's not just crazy, but a psychopath. The guy has a weird hobby, hunts down bums then collects their hands and feet.” Jaka's voice rang with horror, “the man locked me up, then cut off my hand to make the police fog if my DNA was found on one of the mutilated hands yesterday.”

Whether because of tired, enduring pain or indeed Jaka was really weak, he fell asleep in the backseat. Every now and then Citra glanced at the rearview mirror to pay attention to his men.

From a distance Citra saw the gate of her house open. There is no way Anto forgot to close the fence, he murmured inwardly. The image of parking his car, the door of his house also appeared wide open, this time Citra suddenly felt anxious.

He left it in the car and rushed down. His house was a little messy, he found blood spots on the floor forming a straight line towards the back shed.

Image's steps trembled, he did not dare to imagine the possibility that was happening inside his house. Slowly he opened a small barn near the kitchen.

“Aaaarggghhh!” The image sits limp to see Anto's body hanging inside the warehouse without hands and feet.

His hands were still trembling as he pressed down on Haris' number for help. The image can only look at the boy's body until his colleagues arrive with forensic officers.

Is this Christian's doing? What's the kid's fault? The image bemoaned Anto in heart.
