Murderer

Murderer
CHAPTER 14 - Melody of Death (Revision)

Faisal visited Andre in the prison, there are things that still stuck in his mind about the suspect's past. He found this man's photo with Cecilia's sister and their little face felt so familiar.

"I told you that I was the perpetrator of the murder!" Andre said firmly without being asked by Faisal, as if he knew his intent and purpose.

The man with the short haircut laughed cynically. "Okay, suppose you really were the perpetrator of the murder .. Now, try to explain how you took Sister Grace's life while you were locked up in here!"

The look on Andre's face suddenly changed, he was very surprised by the news that Faisal had brought just now. "Why? Why is the chief nurse a victim?" His feet are weak now.

That night — a man wearing a black baseball cap with a NYC logo and wearing all-black clothes, came to the cafe where Andre worked. The man sat down at the stool bar and ordered a glass of Gin to her.

He kept watching Andre. Out of breath or fear of provoking a commotion — he approached the man.

"What's up, man? You got a problem with me?" ask Andre to the man.

This man did not reply, he still lowered his head while playing the glass whose contents were still not touched at all. "You know .. sometimes the sinners don't realize they're going to be punished for their sins."

Andre's eyebrows furrowed, he did not understand why this person discussed sin whether it belonged to whom. He ignored the man's words and continued his work.

"Valentino Arthasena ...."

Hearing the name b*****n which had caused his sister's death, Andre placed the wine glass he was stacking on the shelf. He turned his head towards this mysterious person and looked at him questioningly.

"Didn't you want to punish him? Though you and your own brother, unaware of doing the wrong thing, so your sister became the victim of your sin's vengeance."

"Our sins?"

The man laughed cynically. "You asked God's Hand to avenge your sister Cecilia, right? Now just follow the instructions that will be given to you."

He looked up and stared intently at Andre.

Faisal hit the cell trellis because he saw Andre daydreaming and made the suspect jolted in shock, he thrust a piece of photo when this man woke up from his daydream.

"Do you know this photo?" ask Faisal. Andre threw his face and shook his head.

"If this one, have you ever known a boy named Salsa and Haris?" Faisal again showed the photo in the orphanage yearbook.

Once again Andre shook his head without looking at Faisal, he did not seem to want to open his mouth at all. Faisal took a picture of Andre's residence, a photo of his childhood with Cecilia, and then he pointed to a pair of children standing near Raka.

"This boy is named Haris .. This is his little sister Salsa. They were adopted just before the orphanage fire broke out, did you not recognize these two children? Aren't their faces similar to this photo of you two?" cecar Faisal's.

This man was speechless, Andre seemed to not want to say what he knew. He and Angelica are like a puzzle piece missing in the investigation of this case. Faisal didn't understand why they got such a complicated case.

"Well, I'll give you some time, if you get involved further .. Maybe you could be considered an accomplice in this serial murder and I'm sure you still have common sense. If you still stick with your initial statement, you know how severe the punishment will be!" Faisal left Andre still stunned.

Faisal sat alone in the car with his head resting on the wheel, and — seconds later he ruffled his own hair. He felt very upset that he had not found any answers.

Faisal's body was really tired at the moment, he needed a little rest. Ever since Iptu Citra was suspended, he ran this investigation alone, some of their junior members were not so much to help.

"I went home for a while to rest" Faisal told one of his members.

"Ready, Sir!"

"If Citra's mom is looking for me, please tell me I'm coming home for a while!"

Faisal then drove his Avanza out of the office parking lot.

Green House Apartment, Manggala

The studio apartment only contains potluck furniture typical of a bachelor, but everything in it is so neatly arranged. Faisal dropped himself on the sofa, finally he got time to go home for a while.

Faisal's arms rested on his forehead, the eagle's eyes staring straight at the ceiling, while Faisal's mind drifted deep into the pieces of this 'Man of the Hand of God' murder case. Tired, he unconsciously fell asleep.

The woman gasps to avoid the pursuit of a mysterious man, she keeps running and looking for help, but no one can help. While the mysterious man dressed in all black clothes — pulled his stride like a cat was playing with its prey.

The steps of this woman began to slow down, her legs were very tired, the soles of her feet had started to hurt. He looked for a place to hide, stepped slowly while looking down between the sidelines of a car parked in the basement of the building.

He doesn't remember what happened, he should have met someone at a cafe. Suddenly something smothered him from behind and he fainted, and — this is where he ended up in a silent basement.

The atmosphere of this basement is very quiet and lack of lighting, some of the lights are no longer working. He was unable to run, this woman was hiding behind a car and trying to catch her breath.

The faintly audible melodies and verses were slowly approaching, the verse of this song was familiar to his ears. This woman trembled even more as she heard the humming of that raucous voice.

"I know you can hear me

Open up the door

I only want to play a little

Ding dong

You can't keep me waiting

It's already too late

For you to try and run

Our eyes are locked together

I can sense your horror

Thought I'd like to see it closet ...."

As the man moved closer, the woman shuffled from where she had been hiding. He moved slowly hoping that the hunter was unaware of his movements. But —

"Aarrgghhh!"

The man's burly hand pulled his hair and he still continued to hum. The man drew his lips closer to the woman's ear and whispered, "Do you remember this song? You've always lured those two poor kids with this song to play hide-and-seek that ended in tragedy."

"A—what do you mean!?"

"Belgium ... Dusk ... You still want to pretend amnesia?" This man pulls harder the hair of his prey.

The look on this woman's face was as pale as a corpse when she heard the two names called. A cruel grin was seen on the man's face even under the dim light of the lamp.

Faisal flinched, he woke up in cold sweat. Why did I dream that? Who is the woman in my dream? Is that Cecilia or Kinanti? Or maybe Angelica's future?

He got up from the sofa and went to fetch a bottle of cold water, sweat still pouring down his forehead. He was surprised when he saw the watch that had shown at seven in the night, it turned out that he had been asleep for three hours.

After stabilizing his feelings, Faisal rushed to clean up to prepare to return to the office. This case must be resolved immediately! He thinks under the shower.

"What did the man say to his victims? They're killers? Rabbi ... Dusk?" Faisal continued to mutter.

"Armgggghhh!" He became upset himself for not understanding the meaning of the dream.

...----------------...

"Coffee?" Suddenly Bara showed up that morning at the office. Faisal received the coffee that Bara offered, he glanced at this strange forensic doctor.

"Don't look at me like that, they'll think we're dating" Bara joked, making Faisal laugh.

"Is there a problem with the investigation?"

"So, I'm just feeling a little tired."

Faisal leaned against the chair, his eyes looking at the ceiling of the office. Bara felt that something was wrong with his partner, Faisal seemed to be very depressed because of the case they were investigating.

"Yesterday .. I had a strange dream, but it was real."

Bara's eyebrows go up. "Usually the dream is our subconscious, which you experience can be called a vivid dream, it can be triggered by stress" he explained.

"I don't know if it's because of stress or if I'm talented to be psychic" Faisal said, laughing wryly.

He could still feel the damp aroma of the dark basement. The woman's screams were still clearly ringing in her ears, as if it wasn't a dream. "Everything I've been through really feels real!" faisal Strictly.

"Maybe you need a break, once the case is over, take a leave of absence. Go traveling to heal your soul" Bara suggested.

"Am I too depressed about this case? In my dream a woman was chased by a black-clothed figure in a baseball cap as the late Johan explained .. she strangled the woman exactly like a giggle on the neck of Kinanti — just ... I can't see the culprit's face, neither can the woman's face." Faisal's eyes closed, he imagined scene after scene that had occurred in his dream.

"Fix, what you're experiencing is a vivid dream. When our stress levels increase, we will also experience vivid dreams more often. Our brain is flooded with neurotransmitters as well as chemicals, such as adrenaline and epinephrine, when it is active — even during the day the effect can remain felt until the time we fall asleep, it can disrupt the normal sleep cycle and cause vivid dreams,” said Bara seriously.

He was very worried about Faisal's mental state. Maybe the pressure from various parties also makes him very tired and stressed. Moreover, Citra was suspended because it was considered this case related to her personal problems, so Faisal alone handled the case.

"You need some rest, okay?"

Faisal breathed a desperate sigh. "By the way, what is a forensic doctor doing here?" faisal asked only.

"Ah, yes, I'd like to hand over Sister Grace's visa report," Bara handed me a brown envelope.

"You're like living in a stone age, why not just by fax or email" Faisal said.

Just the grin is unclear. The doctor returned to the hospital after handing the brown envelope to her.

Faisal entered the room and found the commander there. The image was staring at a glass whiteboard filled with photos of the victims of the murder, each photo linked with a red thread so they could read the link between each other.

"Cecilia should have been removed from the case, maybe — if she was indeed killed by Valentino and the spoiled rich boy wanted to make it look like he was killed by the Hand Men of God, because he thinks he's lawless. Who would have thought ..." Citra said while pointing to a photo of Valentino and also the girl who was found floating in the waters around the Lae-lae bridge yesterday.

"It looks like that, but what if actually when with Valentino, the girl was just unconscious? Panicked, Valentino thought he was dead and then threw him away. But damn for Cecilia to meet the killer when she awakens from her stupor ...."

The image turned towards Faisal, he did not understand at all why his subordinates could think of such an absurd possibility. "What is the relationship between Cecilia, Andre and that psychopathic man? He's only targeting former residents of Benedict's orphanage."

Hearing Citra's words, Faisal took out two photos. One photograph of Andre and Cecilia as children, the other is a photo they found in the warehouse where Valentino was killed.

"This is Andre and Cecilia .. This is Haris and Salsa. Aren't they similar?"

The image was very surprised to find that the two children in different photos had similarities. Although the photos taken at the house of Andre — both children have grown bigger.

While Citra was busy observing the two photos, Faisal was also busy studying his assumptions which were either true or not. To be sure, he had to force Andre to tell the truth, as there was a chance that Cecilia was killed by the psychopath.
