Ep.16 Part I Family Meeting

After Zevana and Maxime sat down at their respective places, everyone stopped their conversation and looked at the two. Zevana was confused as to what to act like and said moreover he was just trying to avoid the gaze of all those people as much as possible.

Their room filled with silence, Zevana secretly stole a glance towards Maxime to see the state of the man who was still loyal with his flat expression even in the middle of this atmosphere.

“Thank you for coming tonight” said Maxime broke the silence.

“Because of your unexpected announcement last night at the party we all so have to gather tonight” said Maxime's oldest brother sarcastic.

Hearing that remark Zevana could only lower her head in a bad mood, far from his estimation, Maxime's family seems to dislike the idea of marriage and maybe he does not like the fact that the woman who will marry Maxime is himself.

“Actually we have planned to tell you all first but I can't wait to tell everyone the happy news until we forget our original plan” said Maxime laughed softly as he reached for a hand Zevana under the table.

Maxime clasped Zevana's hand tightly to neutralize the woman's nervousness even though Zevana said nothing and just kept quiet but the nervousness was too obvious to cover up.

“It's okay son, we're all happy if it makes you happy” said someone with a soft voice.

Zevana who had just looked down did not even greet the people around because of nervousness and worry was also raised his head and spoke softly.

“Mama...” he said softly inexplicably he seemed to be crying soon and with great difficulty he tried to hold back his crying.

“Why are you, son? Don't cry” said her mother softly.

Hearing her mother's soft voice instead of being calm Zevana actually shed her tears without caring what situation she was in at the moment.

“I miss you, ma” whine Zevana

Her mother just smiled sweetly and said “Mama misses you too, son. But it's only been two weeks since you moved and you can go home whenever you want, Zee”.

Zevana initially lived with her family but when she was about to start looking for a job her father asked her to study independently and live alone and of course her father allowed her to return whenever he wanted and even he can give up if he is not willing to live alone away from them.

“I don't think my little daughter misses me anymore” said someone with a very familiar deep voice for Zevana.

“Papa” said he who now has no power to hold back his tears.

His father and mother even everyone who was there almost laughed and had to see Zevana “My baby don't cry son, son, here there are many people who see you” scolded his father could not bear to see his daughter teary-eyed.

Somehow he was not aware of the presence of his parents who were also here. Because of his nervousness and anxiety that is very extraordinary, he forgot the presence of people around him.

Maxime helped Zevana wipe her tears “You ruined your makeup, dear” she said as she gently wiped her tears.

After a while the atmosphere was calm again as before, the conversation was started by the family elders and naturally they were connected to each other until the brand table was filled with noise about business.

“Jeff, if it doesn't matter what I may ask? Why did you give Zack the company but not Zevana?” ask the man who owns Abiezer's name for the first time in the family.

“Why? I'm just asking because soon we'll be part of the family and I think it's important to know everything” Mr. Abiezer told his wife.

“Um not the real master papa has offered me to run it but because I drained my skills is not there so I refused it. After all, if compared to me, Zacky is far above me and I just want people to know me not only because of my background but because of my expertise, explained Zevana at length to her future father-in-law.

“You raised your son well even Zevana looks very smart” praised Mr. Abiezer.

The door of their private space opened and turned all their attention towards it, not yet fully opened Zevana had already risen from her seat and jumped towards a man who had just been present among them.

“ZACKY!!”

“Oh my little sister, I miss you”, Zacky replied to her sister's warm embrace.

Maxime greets Zacky who just arrived it casually “Hey bro!” said it.

Zacky let go of his embrace to his little sister and approached Maxime and hugged each other to greet each other.

“I even just found out about you dating my sister” Zacky told Maxime who then distracted her attention to everyone in the room “Sorry because I was late and made a ruckus” said again.

Zevana is a little surprised because her brother is friends with Maxime but she is not surprised because her brother is friends with Justin and Justin is friends with Maxime so there is no impossibility for her brother is also friends with Maxime.

“You should have told me if you were dating someone even that woman is my own sister” Zacky said.

“Trust me I don't even know if Zee is your sister, I found out after we decided to tell each other about each other's families but we kept it a secret because my lover didn't want the media to know it was interfering with his privacy.” Maxime told Zack at length.

“Wait, are you serious? We've been friends since childhood and you've seen me as a child and my sister couldn't have known her.

Not only Zacky was curious, Zevana was made to wonder if it was true or not because he did not remember even a little of his childhood memories in which there were fragments of their memories together.

“I mean I never saw him after adulthood because if I was in your house he was always not at home or just staying in his room” explained Maxime while shrugging both shoulders like a surrender gesture.

“But shouldn't you tell me after realizing that he's my brother?”

Maxime just sneered “Maybe you won't approve your sister with me”

Zacky laughs “I wouldn't have done that if you were my sister's choice but I might have kind of lectured you” a little bit.

Yas, this is my bro! Zevana just smiled at her brother's words, Zacky loved her from childhood until now and her brother never made her cry she would be very angry if someone else made her sister cry.
