Marrying a Hardenal Girl

Marrying a Hardenal Girl
Big Decisions

(A year later)

Delano gave a small smile staring at all the important documents that had been completed over the past two months.

His eyes then looked softly at the photo of the beautiful woman on his desk. There was a sense of pain that still continued to slice through his chest every time he looked at the photo of his late wife.

It was the year anniversary of Mikayla's departure after the plane crash that claimed the life of her beloved wife.

Delano touched the red rose that scented in his study. Her reddened eyes held back the painful feeling of the fond memories with Mikayla that appeared in her mind.

"Honey, I really miss you. I miss your rebellious attitude but also your tenderness when we make out."

There were tears falling right on top of the rose on his desk. Flowers he bought to commemorate the year of his wife's departure.

Until now, Delano never knew which strength still made him survive since losing Mikayla.

Could it be that short, beautiful memories? Or the sweet face that always adorns his dreams so that he remains strong to live life? Thought Delano.

A slow knock was heard and the door opened. Robert came in with a file in his hand.

"Sir, everything's done. The buyer of the house is ready for the purchase transaction. Notary was there too. Are you ready to leave now?"

Delano breathed heavily while trying to smile and nod. "I'm five minutes down."

Robert then went out and closed the door.

Delano looked back at Mikayla's photo and smiled forcedly.

"I'm sorry, honey. I can't stay there and mourn our memories day and night. I had to sell it. Trust me, that doesn't mean I'm doing it to forget you. Nah! But I believe that you also don't want me to constantly live in grief, do you?"

Delano looked at the house he had once lived with Mikayla for the last time with a sad look. Her heart has been steadily releasing all the good memories with Mikayla in that house.

Robert looked at his boss with sympathy, as if he could feel what was going on in his heart and mind.

"Sir we're home now? There are still some things that must be arranged and packed today before you return to Indonesia tomorrow."

Robert's words awakened Delano from his daydream.

He smiled and got in the car. The car moved out of the luxurious courtyard. Delano's heart was left there. His eyes continued to stare at the house until it disappeared behind a large fence.

All the way back to his office Delano just kept daydreaming without talking. Once his eyes went down the places where he had spent time with his late wife.

The biggest decision he ever made in his life was to leave Baverly Hills for good. The city is full of memories and always able to make him cry while walking around every corner on a motorcycle alone.

Delano made the decision to return to his homeland leaving his company managed by Robert and his two trusted associates.

He had opened a similar company as his branch in Jakarta and was determined to manage it until the end of his life. For him, it is only close to his family's affection that he can gain full strength and support in living his days alone.

Tomorrow he will leave America and start a new chapter of his life in his homeland, Indonesia.
