Marrying a Hardenal Girl

Marrying a Hardenal Girl
Without Identity

The middle-aged man tried to sharpen his gaze from behind a small glass window that fused with the door. He tried to notice the figure of the girl sitting on a patient's bed from outside the room where the girl was. The girl did not flinch with a blank look. There are still some scarring scars that have healed on his hands and face.

"Doctor Gerald, your patient has been awake since dawn. For a month he was in a coma. I thought he would never wake up again. Truly miracle!" said a female nurse to the middle-aged man.

The man known as Doctor Gerald Armando nodded slowly.

"What is his reaction when he is conscious?"

The nurse shook her head slowly at Doctor Gerald's question.

"So far he hasn't spoken a word. He looked dazed as we asked his name. Only his eyeballs are ever-moving but seem empty."

Doctor Gerald breathed heavily. "The poor girl. What unfortunate!"

The nurse showed sympathy to Doctor Gerald.

"Until now, no family has claimed it. No one knows him. And most sadly, the girl had such severe amnesia that it was hard to know who she really was. Although the operation to remove the blockage in his brain worked very well, but the recovery of his memory did not go as predicted."

Hearing that, Doctor Gerald rubbed his face. The shadow of his deceased daughter again loomed in his memory. It happened seven years ago when he lost his daughter in a car accident. If he could estimate, and if his daughter were still alive, she would be the same age as the girl without the Identity.

Doctor Gerald's eyes slightly reddened. It was still clear in his memory about a month ago. He was picked up by his driver from the airport after a week of health seminars in Japan.

On the way home, he was accompanied by a car that was both from the airport. On that fateful day, the car carrying the girl from the airport had a tragic accident due to a collision with a bus whose brakes had been blown off. It happened very quickly and the road became jammed. The car that the girl was riding was overturned so that the people who gathered at that time wanted to help the driver and the girl also jostled each other.

Doctor Gerald who also got off his car tried to observe from a distance. Among the people who were jostling there were those who took advantage of the situation by taking some of the girl's valuables including a bag that might contain cards that could indicate the girl's identity.

As a doctor, Dr. Gerald called the police and the local hospital. The driver's life could not be saved, while the girl fell into a coma due to a bump in her head.

The nurse nodded and opened the door in front of them slowly. "Please doctor."

Doctor Gerald walked in and stood right in front of the girl who was silent like a robot running out of batteries.

The doctor reached into a small flashlight from his pocket and tried to examine the girl's eyes one by one. The light that was shone into the girl's eyes made the girl squint her eyelids trying to avoid the dazzling light of her vision.

"Good." Said Doctor Gerald. He looked healthy and according to the results of the last examination, his vital signs were in good condition. There's nothing to worry about. In a few days he can go home."

The nurse who was with the doctor looked confused.

"But doc, where are you going to drive home? Nobody knows him and he doesn't know anything about him either."

Doctor Gerald patted the nurse on the shoulder with a smile.

"He's going home. My wife and I will take care of her until her memory recovers or until her family finds it."

Hearing Doctor Gerald's remark, the nurse smiled as she nodded. "The doctor is a helper angel to him. May God repay the doctor for all his kindness."

Doctor Gerald smiled gently. He then rubbed the head of the girl who was still glued.

"As long as he can't remember what his name is, we'll call him Kayl. My late daughter's little name."

The nurse smiled warmly.

"Kayl, what a cute name. A blanket and as pretty as the face of this poor girl!"
