The sky was cloudy since morning and heavy rain was pouring down on the earth. Mikayla just looked out the window with a small blanket covering her cold feet. Beside him is still lying a laptop whose battery is almost exhausted. Mikayla slowly turned off her laptop and placed it on a table near her seat. He sighed softly. The script is almost finished in the conclusion section but the rain almost all day makes him lazy to meet Mr. Teguh in the campus.
He grabbed his hape and wrote a message to Mr. Teguh to simply apologize for not being able to meet the schedule that day. He also told the lecturer that he was not feeling well anymore.
Mikayla forced herself to finish her script until dawn at 4. He only slept for an hour then woke up again at 6 to continue the script. As a result that morning he was a little dizzy and carefree. Plus he only sleeps in the family room sofa so his body feels a little sore here because of his short sleep position is not good.
Mikayla looked back at the rain with a sleeping position while hugging her feet that were getting cold.
He suddenly felt a bit of warmth flowing from his feet. Because of his still dizzy head, he did not notice the presence of Delano who had been sitting under his feet with both hands holding his cold feet.
"Kayla, are you sick?" Delano asked softly.
Mikayla still did not answer. His eyes were closed enjoying the warmth that had now spread to his shoulder.
Delano looked at that sweet face with a feeling of worry. He wrapped the girl in a blanket.
"Kayl's....Kayla." Delano touched the girl's cheek.
"Hmm..warm servant." he murmured.
Moments later Mikayla opened her eyes slowly and found Delano looking at her. Mikayla was a little surprised. He wanted to push Delano's body very close to his position but he was too weak to do so.
"Kayla, you're sick. I'll take a heat-lowering drug first." Delano said as he stood up and took the medicine from his P3K box.
A few minutes later, he was beside Mikayla with medicine and a glass of warm water.
"Kayla, take the medicine first" Delano said.
Mikayla just shook her head weakly.
"I don't like taking medicine."
"Kayla, you're sick again. I can't let you be like this. Let's take the medicine first." Delano's voice slightly raised.
Mikayla kept shaking. "I hate to take medicine the most." Mikayla's voice sounded weak.
Delano took a breath. He became anxious too if he had to serve a childish girl who was afraid to take medicine.
"Come on Kayl, if you don't want to drink, I'll take you to the hospital right now!"
Mikayla's eyes grew bigger. He sat down when he heard the word hospital.
"Please, don't take me there. Give me the cure." ask Mikayla.
Mikayla tried to swallow the medicine Delano gave her and gulped down the water quickly. He likes to take medicine. But rather than having to be taken to the hospital, Mikayla willingly swallow the drug despite painstakingly holding the bitter taste that had alighted in his senses.
"Other times do not force yourself to work until morning" said Delano while putting a glass on the table.
"You should eat. I've made asparagus soup and fried chicken flour."
Mikayla looked at Delano with a guilty look.
"I'm sorry it's been bothering you since we got married. I'm supposed to cook for you but I'm not good at cooking." Mikayla said in a voice that still sounded weak.
Delano just smiled a little. He then grabbed the girl's head and leaned against her shoulder. Mikayla did not reject Delano's treatment. He actually enjoyed it.
"No problem. I knew you couldn't cook. Nowadays, men are smarter than women."
"Thank you, Delan. Your burden has only increased since my marriage" Mikayla said slowly.
Delano simply shook his head as he grabbed the nearby television remote and started looking around for his favorite channel.
"Don't think. Anyway, you don't have to push yourself too hard to finish your script until it hurts like this."
Mikayla took her breath. "Where can I not work hard. We're gonna have to get to America?"
Delano flicked his fingers against the girl's forehead gently.
"You finish your script slowly. We leave when you're done. I can't possibly leave you, right? What would our parents say if I left alone?"
Mikayla smiled with relief at Delano's words. Delano was very understanding.
The rain continued to fall without showing any signs of stopping. The lightning accompanied by a very loud rumble surprised Mikayla who reflexes immediately grabbed Delano beside her while hiding her head in the field.
Delano smiled amusedly. "It turns out your stubbornness can be lost only because of the sound of thunder."
Mikayla ignored Delano's words. He slowly let go of the embrace.
"Don't ge-er ya hugged a pretty girl, it's just a startled reflex, it's nothing" Mikayla said with a flushed face.
Delano stood up and grabbed Mikayla's hand.
"Let's eat first. Cold food."
Mikayla refused because she was hungry. Delano's hand that led him to the dinner table was trying to interpret Mikayla as the attention of an older sister. Not more!
