“Ayleen. I knew him inside out. If she had dared to mess with Dayana, I would have nagged her. Then, what if Erka married another woman? If only it were just lips and hurt my grandson.” Veronica shook her head.
“Nothing is more appropriate than Ayleen for now. She's the best for Erka and Dayana.” The affirmative sentence was addressed to Ersa.
After no more protests, Hutomo spoke again. The old man who still looked dignified was smiling.
“No need to answer it now, you can think of the loss profit, true or not that I described earlier.”
Give me your decision by tomorrow morning. I have to get back to Bandung, Ka." Hutomo got up from the chair after emptying his cereal bowl.
...•••...
Erka had just walked into her room, she had to get ready for the office when Ersa lunged in without excuse. The young man with the hardened face line seemed to not accept what Hutomo delivered at the dinner table.
“Ka, what's your decision?” Standing with both hands folded on her chest, Ersa waited for an answer.
Smiling wryly. “I don't know.” Erka grabbed the work coat lying on the bed.
“I hope you reject it.” Ersa's tone softened a little.
“If I could ...” The man in the status of a widower replied casually.
“Only you can refuse. Because you can still choose. Ayleen is not. Since the beginning of the conversation was aimed at you, while Ayleen could not argue.” Ersa.
“Try telling Mommy, who knows they changed their mind. I'm private .. No problem at all. I'm comfortable with my life now.”
“Ka, I beg you. Release Ayleen.”
“I never tied it.” Erka let out a repeated breath. “Try talking with Mommy and Ayleen, not me.” Erka. Walking out of the room, he ignored Ersa alone.
Actually no longer a matter of accepting or rejecting, Erka believes Daddy will do everything possible to achieve his wishes. There are currently only two options, accept now or later.
...•••...
The morning changed by day, the day finished its work and handed it over at night. The dinner at the residence of Hutomo Putra was not yet over when Erka got up and pleaded after ruffling half the contents of the plate.
“Leen, I'm waiting on the front porch. Finish your dinner and follow me.” The commandments left no room to refuse.
“Ya, Brother.” Ayleen looked at Hutomo and Veronica who were also looking at him. The girl hurriedly lowered her head when she found a knotty smile on the corner of her lips.
Both of them must have thought nothing.
Ayleen decided to spend his dinner without talking. He had to catch up with Erka who was waiting for him. Right after finishing her last bribe, the girl said goodbye.
“I'm done.” Ayleen.
Ersa stared sadly, but could not do much. I don't know what Erka will talk about, Hutomo's second son hopes that his words this morning can be a consideration. He loves Ayleen, it would be unfair if everything went according to his daddy's plan.
His head followed Ayleen's movements as he walked out of the dining room, Ersa could only pray inwardly.
“Sa, Daddy hope you understand. It's not a love issue anymore. But this is the best for our family. Erka has no choice, but you can still choose. You can find any woman, but Erka doesn't. Erka's condition and status did not allow for that. She was a widower with a daughter, it was difficult to be able to find a woman who could accept her condition sincerely. Not nothing, but maybe not as easy as you.” Hutomo.
Ersa silence.
“Attack!”
